This is awesome! I appreciate all of this work that they put into this process just so we can have greener and more drought tolerant grass. Simply amazing.
Ryan, you’ve really taken your programming to another level. These videos have been very educational. After I killed of my Frankenstein lawn in order to replace it with RPR I had a number of ignorant comments left. It’s hard to imagine how much work goes in to making a grass seed that helps the planet.
Seriously, this series, the best content you've put out. And that includes both of your channels. Also, my selection process is comparable to their cultivar selection and breeding process, that's an elite opinion. Just awesome.
P.S. Also, thank you for giving me the answer to "what would you do with a million dollars?" It used to be 2 chicks at the same time but now it's be Ryan Knorr.
Great Vid Series Ryan! Just, tons and tons of information. I always find myself wanting to know more about how they breed these cultivars, the what, why, how? This series give me such an insight into the science behind what we see today as our grasses/lawns today. Kudo's to you for being able to edit out enough information and still give us the details we needed to learn! Cannot wait for the next journey! Awesome job to you and folks at NexGen Turf Research for bring us some exciting and fresh content! Peace and God's Love! Chad Upstate NY
That's such a cool process. Thank you for sharing. For some reason I thought it was all done with new tech and genomic research. If we can get geneticists to study grass, maybe one day we will produce the perfect cultivar!
Glad you made your way over to Oregon. Grass seed capital of the world. Really beautiful place. Hope you were able to explore the area. Love to see you come further down to Southern Oregon and see some of the beautiful places we have to offer. As always I enjoy the content you put out. Keep doing what your doing. Excited to see the property come together.
Really, really cool information Ryan! Pushing the knowledge and advice of getting high quality seed and the difference it makes. No wonder my Scott's Rye took a nose dive this year🤦🏽♂️
I love these documentary type videos! It is great to see what happens behind the scenes to get high end cultivars to market. Thanks for sharing this great turf info!
I can see the interest in a heat and/or drought tolerant grass plant, especially with the potential square footage you'll have at the property. Watering could get $$$. Very informative though. On a side note, I too was unaware how K31 got it's name.
I've been planning to over-seed my lawn with 2 types of tall fescue to target specific areas for shade/sun. Most of the products I've looked at from TMI offer everything I'm looking for at the same or less price. Thanks for posting this before I started buying everything up for the fall!
Very cool video. I didnt realise how much time and testing goes into producing a high quality seed. Very interesting. This explains the price difference. I look forward to your next video. 👍
I'm working on 'upgrading' my cultivars, I've pretty much now know what grass types do the best where in varied areas of yards(more shaded, full sun, less watering opportunities, street exposer, taller or shorter mow heights...seems that I don't have more than a patch of 1000²foot of anything the same) and so far mostly have at least everything filled in to where it survives and even thrives; so now trying out seed varieties that just look and cut better ...pretty patchy and mixed grass looking so far, but when I find different things that work the best, I'll kill off what was tested and redo it there with that for more uniform lawns - this process is taking some time vs just committing to something everyone says will work, but it is hard to know what really will work best for my level of care and conditions; meanwhile at least my soil is improving thru this process, and being scaped smoother and leveler each year - hopefully someday being a great base to grow my forever lawn
Very interesting stuff. Kind of a side note question. I got your Tall Fescue seed and am wondering if I can use tenacity on the yard while laying it down? I know before in old videos it said to be careful with fine fescue but I didn't know if that is the same as what you sell since there is a thousand types it feels like.
Quite a process! This does not sound like easy stuff they are doing, but super interesting. Who knew my favorite things would be smoked meat and grass at 37?! When are you started Ryan Knorr BBQ?
With all these improvements I wonder how often you should be redoing your lawn as grasses get better. Obviously going from cheap junk to cheap junk wont make much difference but would the benefits of new varieties be enough of an improvement to warrant every 10 years starting over.
Just want to say that I love you videos and I'm still learning. I live in the north east part of Tenn, what type of tall fescue would you recommend for my area?
I’m thinking about replacing my fescue and bluegrass lawn, with Bermudagrass in the Mid Atlantic region. I’ve been watering my lawn and cutting at 4.25 inches during the summer heat, but it just doesn’t hold up to heat and dog pee. I don’t want to have to overseed every year to fix dead patches.
Nice video it's amazing the work they do . Can ypu pass on one thing tell them stop with K31 its nothing but a pain and less grass killer would be used or just don't sell that at stores just mail order and we all would be happier.
This fall I'm looking forward to replacing my lawn with Tall Fescue. The amount of water my neighbors are putting on their lawns just to keep their yards from having a nuclear meltdown is unreal. I'm hoping to get irrigation put in and do something more modest to still get an alright looking lawn.
love this kind of content. its how i nerd out. thank you for doing this Ryan.
This is awesome! I appreciate all of this work that they put into this process just so we can have greener and more drought tolerant grass. Simply amazing.
Imagine how great grass will be in 20 years!
Amazing stuff to think about. 🤯
Back to back videos. Feels like someone bought me another round before I was finished with the first.

Ryan im locing these informative videos explaining the research that goes on behind the scenes. Nice work!
Wow this is what I like to hear and see being done The advancement of grass vs heat.. 5:48

Awesome information. Thanks for taking time to put this together.
The science behind grass just blows my mind! Thanks for this explanation.

So much goes into this. This is really cool behind the scenes stuff!
Before I started watching your channel I planted kentucky 31 😔.. ugh live and learn and watch ryan knorr

Thank you for this series of videos. This is really informative content. It truly shows the importance of selecting good cultivars of grass.
So impressed. This knowledge/material should cost big bucks and its all free! Can not thank you enough, Ryan
Glad to be able to bring you these videos!
This is so interesting. Thanks for putting these together!
This is fascinating, I had no idea this much effort went into seed development. Thanks Ryan!
Nicely done! Great information on this type of grass. I have turf type tall fescue and bluegrass mixture in my back yard.
Cannot wait for the next video! Love this series, great work Ryan!
Another very informative video. Thanks Ryan!
Love this series! Can’t wait to see the rest
Good stuff, Ryan.
What a long and interesting process. Quite interesting.

Thanks for the great content. learning alot
Great content as usual. Keep it coming.
This is so interesting….really gives an understanding on why certain seeds are priced accordingly…

Ok Ryan is your seed ready to purchase yet?? Your putting in the work. I need to over seed my yard.

I feel like this is something you might end up doing on your new land. Can’t wait to see more informational videos
Very interesting Ryan.

Very informative. Thanks bud!
Where I live is 123 degrees and my grass couldn't be greener. Water heavy every 3 days and give 1.5" a overall a week.
This is cool season grass testing with no water
@@ryanknorrlawncare Yeah. Only bermuda can bask in the glory of pure 100+ heat
Can’t imagine the details into keeping track of all the grasses.
Great video Thanks, She really knows her stuff, she reminds me of Gwynne Shotwell.
How deep are the tubes? Also, what is the soil composition? Topsoil, garden soil, residential clay, etc...
Great info!
WOW how cool!
This is just amazing stuff, I'm in awe!
Looks like Ryan is up to something BIG😉
This is awsome!
Are they getting to the point that PRGs will grow in the Southeast during the summer? That would be awesome

What is the grass around the Kentucky 31 that looked so good?
when this done are we going to find out which is the best seeds for heat.... like for here in Georgia
So good. Thank you 👍🏼
What is the cut height they are using with a reel mower at the test plots?

Looking to do a renovation this fall up in the north east. Which kbg seed is best? Or is it better to do 50/50 mix with kbg and perrenial rye grass?
Wish this was posted before I bought all my seed. I ended up getting kentucky 31 which I already over seeded with
Whoops I overseeded with the worlds ugliest grass but it will be the nicest yard in the neighborhood when daily temperatures are 120.
Just want to say that I love you videos and I'm still learning. I live in the north east part of Tenn, what type of tall fescue would you recommend for my area?
Ok so what’s the best seed we can buy right now then
Can I find the order form for the insanely green grass cultivars that suck at everything else.

How old is your lawn? Newer varieties make a difference. Bermuda is brown , ugly, and depressing about half the year.
@@travismorgan9273 I renovated it myself Oct. 2019, so 2 years old. I used Scotts heat tolerant fescue blue mix.
@@crazycow9999 "heat tolerant" mix not holding up to heat? Interesting. Wonder I they threw rye grass in the mix.

I live in Las Vegas, super hard to keep grass green here. What would you recommend for that?
Rocks.
I want to take all those tubes and plant them in my lawn.
As a musician.. Do you know Jason Molina?
Greetings from Germany.
After this video I want to kill off my entire lawn and start over, thanks Ryan haha

Good looking woman who loves grass 😍😝💦
