You have come such a long way from making DIY lawn strippers out of PVC. Thanks for letting us come along on this journey! I’ve learned so much from this channel, and I don’t know where else I would get information like this. Love it!
Hey Ryan, Its videos like this that have made me continue to follow and anxiously await your new content. My lawn has never looked so good till I started watching your channel.
That was impressive. By that, I mean the lady representative. I initially thought, 'here we go, another company rep giving the few facts they knew for a process or product. I was certainly wrong. I don't know grass but I can tell this lady did! She can't just be some PR rep for the company. She did a tremendous explaining their processes and ultimately their product.
Hey Ryan I owe it all to you man! I went with Turf Merchants 4th Millennium Turf Type Tall Fescue and it is amazing! I planted it last September north of Seattle and I have the best lawn in the neighborhood and it's not even a year old. I'm a subscriber and a customer I love the leveling rake.
Love this nerdy stuff! My wife is asking why I'm watching a video about a grass farm. I told her this is where we'll spend our next anniversary. She said only if they have bottomless daiquiris. Ryan, can you confirm about the daiquiris?
So much information, and it was all straight to the point. I really loved this video because it was technical but pretty easy to understand. She comes across as very smart.
Props to Ryan Knorr!! Thanks for that I didn't want it to end. I guess I will have to wait. No wonder blue label seed isn't cheap. 7 to 10 years from field to customer WOW!! YUP I'll pay the price for sure
Holy crap. Lots of information here that I never knew. No wonder some of the grass seed is expensive as it is. Makes sense. Thanks for this video! Looking forward to the next one!
There is definitely a reason the best of the best costs more money, as it should when you see the years of testing and research it takes to select those cultivars.
Holy Moly! Brain Freeze! on overload with information! This was an awesome vid Ryan! Great Editing getting all the specifics in 16mins! I really enjoyed this learning experience! Next Please! Peace and God's Love! Chad Upstate NY
Knee-high by the 4th of July was before Genetically modified Corn as well as Corn that is sprayed with Nitrogen. Keep up the videos, I LOVE what you guys are doing
Next video idea, how are different fertilizers made. Would love to see how your lawn supply stuff is made as well as all the stuff from simple lawn solutions, especially the sea kelp stuff.
Very interesting! When I got back into lawn care after moving to a new home, I came across Ryan’s channel about a year ago, and I’ve been hooked since. My garage is full of chemicals, bio stimulants and other fertilizers that I never knew existed a year ago. My neighbors think I’m crazy when I’m spraying chems on the lawn with my backpack sprayer, but I don’t care, I love it. I even tested my soil for the first time this past year. I couldn’t have imagined it, but I really really enjoy taking care of my lawn and learning about turf grass. Thanks Ryan, love the channel and I’ve learned so so much from you, a million thanks! Good luck to you and your wife with the land you purchased as well, I’ll be around watching the journey ahead!
Great content! So, is the NTEPS separate from a breeder altogether? I understand the breeder does their testing. The NTEP would then take their seed and evaluate it afterwards?
Very interesting and so cool that you dive deeper into these subjects and teach us a lot about the basics of grass, how it's made and how the industry is working! Very informative. Keep up the good work! :)
Super interesting. You were right here in my town. I’ve passed by that facility for many years and always wondered what they did. I assume you saw several “Grass Seed Capital of the World” signs while you were out here. 🤣. Thanks for the info.
If I had a weeks notice, I would have came down from Seattle, Washington and visited some family in Southern Oregon! And meet the Knore Family as well. 👍 P.S. Love your professionalism of your Videos! -Take that "Old Man"... You know who I'm talking about.
I noticed that Pennington has TWCA qaulified grass seed. Does that mean the blend in the bag is all qualified or just a particular cultivar within the bag? My yard is roughly 60% RG. Picked it because I don't care about "blue" grass and the price of KGB is silly.
Not sure if it would work with a video, but would be awesome to see you pop in after something interesting is said and rephrase + add your own take or react to something they said. When you popped in at the end, I had a craving to get your thoughts on it!
I need to give you kudos!!! I put out new seeding tall fescue on my boulevard. It's has clearly out performed the store bought fescue in what's been an amazingly hot summer in MT. 106 105 degrees and next to the street so imagine how hot that is!!!! The grass on the edge has a few burn spots but compared to the other grass brands that haven't had the street heat stress it has clearly held up to the heat w superiority!!! Your tall fescue wss expensive esp for new lawn but there is no doubt that it is surperior to box store tall fescue bud.
I work in the nutrient management/Turf Science and you would be surprised the high standards homeowners have but refuse to buy a $150+ bag of seed with 0% weed. Then the following season homeowners are asking why they have POA TRIV? High standards takes high quality seed!
Whoever just immediately jumped to this video and hit dislike without watching it is such a moron. Hates gonna hate, I guess. *thumbs down. I have learnt so much from your videos. In fact, I'm using your guides to rebuild my lawn in Sept. Cheers!
Did you visit Mountain View Seed Co while you were out there? That’s your SS9000 blend. Also, when she’s talking about the testing in 14 locations around the country is that in reference to the NTEP trials? Would be cool to see a video on the NTEP trials from one of the locations
I hope you learned something Ryan..... I know I did. Vikes still won't win a superbowl in our lifetime though...... ALSO random- Just walked by a random neighborhood house and saw blue dye on a low cut lawn.... asked the guy outside randomly what his lawn plan was and if he was killing the yard. He told me he was and he would be "reel mowing", then I asked what youtubers he watches and he said "Ryan Knorr"..... then he proceeded to tell me about his reel mowing future and I instantly thought about sissy grass for some reason. Random but true! I made sure to tell him I am excited to see the results. He also said he watches another guy, of which I said "the mullet" guy? and he replied "yes". So much for lookie loos.
This lady needs her own channel, she was awesome!

Nice work!
Wow Ryan you are the only one diving this deep into grass thank you
Love this nerdy stuff! My wife is asking why I'm watching a video about a grass farm. I told her this is where we'll spend our next anniversary. She said only if they have bottomless daiquiris. Ryan, can you confirm about the daiquiris?
For your sake I'm going to say that they have them. ;)
Protect this woman at all costs hahaha
Tell her they have lots of, "grass".
I just started my Reno and Tetradark Rye was my main choice. Makes me happy to see the skirting was a Tetraploid type
So much information, and it was all straight to the point. I really loved this video because it was technical but pretty easy to understand. She comes across as very smart.
Thanks for the deep dive into this side of lawn content! Seriously top notch content like always.
I love that you have great content to your channel. Always keeping me informed with grass knowledge.
Wow - great video! Love all the information coming from this.
This is great. Will be watching this series. Very interesting material for sure.
That box camera is bloody brilliant!
Props to Ryan Knorr!! Thanks for that I didn't want it to end. I guess I will have to wait. No wonder blue label seed isn't cheap. 7 to 10 years from field to customer WOW!! YUP I'll pay the price for sure

You were just up the road from me! Dang! Welcome to the grass seed capital of the world!
One of the best grass videos I’ve ever seen!!
Thank you for the great content. You go way further than the average youtuber. Greetings from germany!
Holy Moly! Brain Freeze! on overload with information! This was an awesome vid Ryan! Great Editing getting all the specifics in 16mins! I really enjoyed this learning experience! Next Please! Peace and God's Love! Chad Upstate NY
Excellent video Ryan. Always delivering the the goods.
Super interesting! I think this is one of your best videos. Really looking forward to the second part.
Delivering that behind-the-scenes content. i love it! cant wait for the pga vids
This was very informative! Keep up the good work.
Awesome video and content Ryan.
Knee-high by the 4th of July was before Genetically modified Corn as well as Corn that is sprayed with Nitrogen. Keep up the videos, I LOVE what you guys are doing
This is the stuff I didn't know I wanted to know. How cool of them to share all this information!
Just getting started. So much more from this trip coming soon.
oh i love this. can you post part 2 now please, thank you.
Nice surprise, an opportunity to pick the brains of some researchers.. can't wait for part 2!
Next video idea, how are different fertilizers made. Would love to see how your lawn supply stuff is made as well as all the stuff from simple lawn solutions, especially the sea kelp stuff.
Joe Biden is going to outlaw this, they have already made fertilizer illegal in many countries because of WOKE agenda. Sorry bud.
Very interesting. At the end talking about pollination was very informative.
Very, very interesting info! Looking forward to the other parts.
This is very interesting Ryan. Thanks for sharing.
This is great information. I can see why the top varieties are worth the money
Fantastic series. I can’t wait to see the rest.
Wow this one was worth the wait Ryan🔥🔥🔥
Plenty more to come!

That was interesting. I hope that they will show how they harvest seed. I have no idea how that is done.
Great information Ryan! Did you ask if they can grow any purple grass? Purple Pride!
Looking forward to this series!!!
Good stuff right here RK! Very interesting man.
Super interesting..Thanks for doing this!
🎯I like that lady she really knows what she's talking about. 👍
Enjoyed that, keep em coming
Wow great information! There is a lot of factors going into the grass seed production!
As a pacific northwesterner who grew up in the north Willamette Valley, I appreciate that you pronounced “Willamette” correctly.
Now let's try...Yachats 😎
Can't wait for the other parts....
Nice.. So much good content
Great content!

I will be replaying it at least once more tonight
Ryan knorr you should come up with ur own grass seed that would be awesome
ryanknorrlawncare.com/product-category/grass-seed/ryan-knorr-lawn-care-grass-seed/
How do they keep the corners of the test plots free of grass ? Great video.
Super interesting. You were right here in my town. I’ve passed by that facility for many years and always wondered what they did. I assume you saw several “Grass Seed Capital of the World” signs while you were out here. 🤣. Thanks for the info.
i got the sod for my house from around there. amazing stuff
If I had a weeks notice, I would have came down from Seattle, Washington and visited some family in Southern Oregon!
And meet the Knore Family as well. 👍
P.S. Love your professionalism of your Videos! -Take that "Old Man"... You know who I'm talking about.
l series and opportunity to see where and how it all happens. Keep on keeping on bro!
Thanks Ryan always learn from u and yr channel
2:55 can someone please translate? Super curious.
Hey what do you think is the best grass seed for a baseball infield? In Central Washington?
Are we gunna try to grow our own seeds on the farm? That would be interesting. Can't wait for the next video 👍🏽
The climate would not work as well but I'll probably try haha
I noticed that Pennington has TWCA qaulified grass seed. Does that mean the blend in the bag is all qualified or just a particular cultivar within the bag? My yard is roughly 60% RG. Picked it because I don't care about "blue" grass and the price of KGB is silly.

The science, time, love, and dedication it takes to cultivate high quality seed with 0% weed crop is amazing let alone just regular seed.
140F wow. Does that mean I will be able to have cool-season grass here in South Florida? lol I need that seed!
No trials for kbg?
It is not really hardy in Oregon because the winter temps are often not cool enough for it to go dormant.
Hi Ryan,
Have a problem with sod webworms. Do you suggest Dylox or Talstar to treat and which will have fastest results?
Thanks.
Would like to see the harvesting of seeds. How is that done?
Good stuff.
Just minutes from my house. Love the crew at NexGen. I sold them their Allett C34. Did you get a chance to use it?
No mowing for me this time
We met at the Utah RUclips event. Let me know if you come back out this way. It’s a grassy wonderland. So many other places to explore.
Dope content right here.
Hey Ryan, I need to borrow your peat moss spreader? Can you hook a fela up?
I need to give you kudos!!! I put out new seeding tall fescue on my boulevard. Neat. Hope we get better and better at making grass that needs very little water.
Amusingly I love the stems. Grass looks beautiful to me when it's got a bit of a wheat look to it. But I respect that others disagree.
Next video in the series will be about the drought testing and water conservation they are working on
Great video! Does anyone here in the comments have favourite seed providers available in Canada?
I'm about to place a fairly big order with Spear Seeds in Ontario. I haven't used them before, but it might be worth checking out.
Terralink Horticulture and Premier Pacific Seed both in BC.
So are these test plots and seed growing plots what we should expect to see at the new property in the next few years?
I won't have that many at the beginning but yes that is my plan
@@ryanknorrlawncare well sign me up for the first bag of Ryan Knorr’s Iowa grown grass seed.
Really cool!
I work in the nutrient management/Turf Science and you would be surprised the high standards homeowners have but refuse to buy a $150+ bag of seed with 0% weed. Then the following season homeowners are asking why they have POA TRIV?
High standards takes high quality seed!
I have ALWAYS wondered this!!
NEXT LEVEL CONTENT
Id love to see some definitions with timestamps to some of the biologist nomenclature.
Lmao, this is wild. As a quality control chemist, I feel like they do more testing than when I worked in pharmaceuticals lmao.
Is st Augustine grass also sterile? I heard that so many times in other youtube channels…
St Augustine is not grown from seed so that is different than cool season grasses
Damn that lady knows what's up
So who do they sell to? Who then sells to us, so we know the best to get.
Oregon is the number one grass seed producer. The state has international contracts.
Moar. I want more now.
The real question is: did you ask if you could mow a test plot?
Round 2!!
Turf Merchants and Pennington are together?
Whoever just immediately jumped to this video and hit dislike without watching it is such a moron. Hates gonna hate, I guess. *thumbs down.
I have learnt so much from your videos. In fact, I'm using your guides to rebuild my lawn in Sept.
Cheers!
What unintended consequences have they come across with doubling the chromosomes? Harm to soil health? Weaknesess? Etc.
Did you visit Mountain View Seed Co while you were out there? That’s your SS9000 blend.
Also, when she’s talking about the testing in 14 locations around the country is that in reference to the NTEP trials? Would be cool to see a video on the NTEP trials from one of the locations
I think it’s when the mama grass and the papa grass fall in love. Then a magical thing happens………….
I was honestly thinking this the other day lol
I hope you learned something Ryan..... I know I did. Vikes still won't win a superbowl in our lifetime though...... Anyone else having problems playing this video?
