Will these help with outdoor camera's. I have problems with WiFi with the cameras so I want to put one of these at the other end of my house closer to the cameras. Will this help?
I would bet that it would. I just picked 2 up today to install and they allow up to 30 days for a full refund. So you could try it out and if it doesn't work take them back.
t would be nice to have Xfi pods that were designed with a power cord option so that they could be set on top of a desk or table instead of plugged directly into the power on the wall. Kids & teenagers like to pull them out of the wall to plug in their electronics, etc.
We have the Xfinity Modem on the 1st floor, but find that we have a weak signal strength on the 2nd floor. Would this system work for us, or would you recommend another system?
The Xfi Pods are 'extenders" not mesh systems. I have them, with a 1200 gbs down internet in a 2 story house mode/router on 2nd floor, wifi drops to near 0 at the ground level limits of my house. Why I'm getting a real "mesh" system.
I know this sounds crazy but some extension cords and aluminum can supercharge your wifi reception,. Instead of plugging them into the wall I use extension cords to place them where they have line of sight to each other and then use aluminum shaped in various ways to get the best reception. My Wifi speed, which is 200 to the gateway increase from about 37 (to my PC 3 rooms away on the same floor) to about 67 with pods to up to 112 with aluminum (that is the highest and it does vary from test to test). Look at the videos about aluminum and wifi. I have a clear view from my gateway to the first pod which sits on top of a piano. the next one in ona bookcase on the other side of the wall. I use aluminum to bounce the signal through the wall toward the the second pod. The third pod sits facing up on top of my PC with aluminum a fes inches above to deflect the signal back down. I did a lot of experimenting to get this set up. Metal and heavy object slow the wifi down so try to avoid them as much as possible. Although your house may look like a crazy person lives there you will be amazed.
@@techprojournal4469 Like Reynolds Wrap. This is what I discovered recently. I took all the foil away from the router and 2 of the pods. I have the third pod plugged into an extension cord and it's sitting on the computer face up. I have a printer that sits facing it but a little higher. and I made a little in an arc over it. I also have some on the back side bent up like in a C shape. My computer is up on a gall ehlf on my desk, so I have some on the bottom shelf anagin bent like l C lying down on it's back. I would experiment to see if it works for you. Just keep the aluminum (American spelling) from getting between any 2 pods. Let me know if it works for you.
These pod are not ideally if you have 2 network name that are in use. The pod will merge the 2 network name together. Not good! I have 2 network name because 1 of the network name I solely used for house devices like camera’s, Telsa router, garage door, etc. the 2nd network name I let everyone’s use. I separated the two bc you don’t want other people logging in ur important devices.
Comcast is garbage. Switching to AT&T fiber. I have lost service 16x in two months. My neighbors with AT&T have not had any interruptions in service and pay less per month. Comcast has poor customer service and will not even reimburse me for the time without service. I am leaving and not looking back. XFI pods are garbage and gave me less signal. I returned them and bought a new Orbi system from Costco.
I stream my cable though Comcast. It’s always going out or freezing. This pod should help right?
Does this thing really work if there's more than 20 devices connected via wifi?
I’m trying to use my pod to set a wired connection to my ps5 but it’s not working, any ideas on why not?
Have you guys have issues ween you have internet problems ween you connected your iPhone won’t connect go other room is connected

I have the same problem with 2 of my blink cameras.
Same
Did it end up connecting? I’m having the same issue with installing a blink camera
Can I connect them to a power strip or is it exclusively for wall sockets?
dont see why that would matter as long as they can connect to the modem
I was just going to say the same thing, there should be no noticeable difference if plugged in to a power strip
We have the gen 2 and it won’t connect why is this it won’t come online?
i just bought a xfinity router but do you need a land cable to connect your xfinity pods to the ps4? or it just boost your wifi?
Its just to boost Wifi

I don’t have them but have you tried using an extension cable?
Does using the cat5 connector act as good as if you plugged directly into the router?
Since nobody answered the question is NO...it should give you what you are getting from the WiFi or close to.
I thought it was an input, but actually an output to a device, so no.
How far is the distance?

Yes , i would recommend the Xfi pods for that. Get the 3 pack.
I just bought xfi complete package, will a pod come with it?
Yes , the package normally comes with pods
@@techprojournal4469 pods? Or a pod? The site said one recommended... can I get extra for free?
Did they work for you?
Do I need a Smart phone to install the XFi pods?
Yes to download their app to set it up
I have my own nighthawk router and modem will these a work with this
Are you using comcast ? If so it will work.
I meant you should only be using them with comcast rented routers.
will the xfi pod connect to my PC?
Yes via Ethernet cable
Can be connected to any router ?
No, only comcast rented routers.
No do u listen lol
Listen!
3:20 WEP is not typically recommended anymore because it's outdated and not considering sufficient for protecting your internet anymore
I think he meant to say WPA2. WEP can be cracked in seconds using Aircrack -ng.
Xfi pods too expensive and they not sure it working good over 500Mgb. My internet Xfinity 2G Mgb but it always working under 1G Mgb
Please turn down the volume of your sound effects. Signed, headphone users

@@digitalbios Non headphone user here, still not good to use sound effects. It's too loud.

Hi Mark , what type of Aluminium ?

@@markkelly3859 Thanks a lot for that. I will definitely try this.
@@techprojournal4469 Remember that if you unplug the pods or move them too much they need time to "reconnect nd maximize throughput."

Thank you... so if we have a fairly smart home and some devices required for 2g and others for 5g this would not work?
Can someone tell me how to connect it to my phone
200mbps maximum**
Yes
We didn't need these extenders back when the routers had those 2 big antennas
The new ones that are out are a lot bigger and are up to 500 Mbps maximum
Just got the gen 2 today and reached 524 mbps on my phone and 316 on my ps5
@@sirdavertg7481 will if I use ethernet cable to ps5 and pod will it help alot? My modem is in the basement I have a 2 story house
I don't think they work good. I rate them 3 out of 10.
