Well, the q14 part of this didn't age well. turns out the q14 was a defective design that broke down and had to pulled from the shelf. I got a TPlink x75 and so far been happy.
I don't get it. Surely the backhaul link is still subject to the same limitations as the usual 2.4GHz, 5GHz etc. bandwidth limits because the backhaul link runs on the same generational frequencies? And it's still receiving and retransmiting like a wifi extender would so surely latency goes up and useable bandwidth still goes down when compared to a wired Wireless Access Point and is probably only slightly faster than a range extender version? I'd like to see real world test results in terms of speed, latency and jitter for mesh vs wifi extender vs wired WAPs. Obviously using standards that are not artificially restricted so use a 2.5Gb, 5Gbps or 10Gb ethernet link (and not 1Gbps) when comparing to a 3.5Gbps WiFi link.

Awesome! I can finally put my NAS next to my bed where I've always wanted it. ;)
To sleep to the lullaby hum of its fans
Do you know of any mesh routers that i can set my first mesh router a custom ip. I have tried and i have a old building system that needs a 169. But most mesh routers only have the capability for 169, 10, or 172 starting ip's
Thank you!!
Can I just buy one of these instead of three correct?
I was thinking of getting a Wi-Fi 7 one but I'm not sure what the point would be. I'm only getting one gig on Verizon does anyone have any input
Great video. Question.. Can i specifically select 2.4 for my Google Home products as they won't work with 5. Thanks
So some let you choose some don't but regardless the products that can only see 2.4Ghz will only see that still so they'll work fine.
@@TheUnlockr cheers
I’m trying to fix lag latency packet loss and jittering on my ps5 I have 1gbps WiFi I’m just decently far from router and have an unstable connection and I know nothing about any of this is this good for my issues or should I get something different
Amazing, thank you for keeping it simple🤗
We have the Google mesh in our house and we love it, no issues whatsoever
Is it the Pro ?
@@darkkforest just the regular one, I've had it for a few years now
I have learned soooo much today. Thank for an expertly crafted and informative video!
I have an art studio in my grandparents garage attic. It isn’t crazy far away. I get 1-2 bars on average but sometimes more. Do you guys think this would work for us??
Thanks for this vid. Unless i missed it, do you have anything to say about a ethernet wired mesh? Ie, nodes connected to the main hub via internet. Thx.
It’s ideal if you can do it but honestly with the speeds these can do nowadays it’s not necessary
Great video but can I ask a silly question (this is all new to me). With a mesh system does it have a WPS
So I can connect my tv, printer with just one push like I do now ?
I've bought one of these, does anyone know if I can use it with my 'personal hotspot' on my phone or not? I don't have a router, I just use my hotspot
