Your breast feeding story was similar to mine. I tried, went to a lactation consultant, had nurses help, my mum tried to help (she had no issues with us as babies). It was just so hard and I felt so guilty. At 6 weeks, a health nurse said to me ‘When your little boy goes to school nobody will know if he was breast fed or not, but they will know that he has a great Mum who loves him’. It was the best advice ever and I am grateful to her. My kids are now healthy adults. It is a tough choice, but your baby will be fine and needs a healthy mum ♥️🖤

I'm really proud of you for choosing to stop breast feeding for your mental health. I know that was a hard thing to do! When it comes down to it, breast feeding can be really really hard. And babies are still perfect and healthy without being breast fed. You are a wonderful mama 🖤🖤

I really appreciate that hun! It was honestly the hardest decision I've made as a mother so far, but I'm really glad I did in the end. 🖤

I know this video is old now, but I'm just starting my postpartum health journey 6 months pp and this series is already maling me feel more confident in my own journey. Especially hearing you talk about stopping breastfeeding. I weaned a month ago and it is such a heavy decision to make if you always saw yourself doing it for longer. 💙

Many years ago I was not successful at breastfeeding my first child. It was heartbreaking. I was determined to be successful with my second. It was not successful either. It was very hard on me. But in the end both babies thrived and so did I despite the disappointment. You have to do was is right for you in your situation. Kudos to you.

I just found your channel yesterday, and usually I don't really buy into like the weightloss social media thing for various reasons, yet I am so glad for your videos! You are so honest about the process and about motivation and all that. In the last 11 months, I've lost 67lbs with help from my doctor and dietician. I will keep up with the routine. Just wanted to say your content is helping me on my journey. Thank you!

I'll see you in Body Slims in April! I signed up 3 or 4 weeks ago and I'm pretty excited. I've set a goal of 100 pounds, so I'm nervous, excited, curious, scared - all of the things. I've been overweight/obese for as long as I can remember, and I feel like I can relate to your story as well. Looking forward to getting started!

Really appreciate this & the tips you give. Just had a baby at end of Jan as well, my 3rd though. But had lost almost all the baby weight from the last two right before getting preggo. Was so discouraging and to gain so much & more back, but getting back on track. Still nursing, definitely a challenge fighting with mental health priority I always seem to put last.

I am very happy to know that your therapy worked. I must say that I have had long periods of therapy and it didn’t work for me. I’ve tried different therapists (all psychologists though), but I wouldn’t recommend. I think you’ve been fortunate with your therapist. My main advice to other women is to choose a female therapist. Women therapists are more likely to understand another woman and less likely to confuse roles.

Hi you look great as you are. I can’t believe your in 175/180 range but take it easy and see how you go implementing healthy changes. I m also on a weight loss journey. Probably my 100th in my life. But I feel this low carb intermittent fasting is what I been missing out on. Learned the hard way that bread grains snd eggs are not my friends. I likely have food allergies to these foods that made it hard to lose weight. Good luck 🍀

I had to stop breastfeeding for my mental health too and it was a tough decision. But at the end of the day you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. And as long as baby is fed that’s all that matters. Just wanted you to know that you’re definitely not alone! 💗💗💗

Coming from someone that bf 12 Mo, it’s always a little sad when it ends. But remember fed is best!!! You find so many other cool ways to bond. In my experience they just see bf as a bottle. My baby actually rejects the boob for the bottle, but he is still super cuddly and close to me.

Breastfeeding was very tough for me too. Felt like a prison. I had to do a C-Section and I believe that didn’t help. As you, I was convinced that breastfeeding was vital for my baby and for being a good mother. I even studied with american doula Debra in 2007, when she came to Portugal 🇵🇹. My daughter was born in 2014 and I could not deliver the baby via natural birth. If I had started my motherhood path now I would totally would go with a scheduled C-section and wouldn’t go for breastfeeding at all. I feel I was not completely informed about what breastfeeding represents for a woman 👩. I as many women of my generation, social, academic background and economic position have been brainwashed for the importance of breastfeeding our babies. And were induced guilty feelings if we didn’t made that choice. We are all equal but all different. ✌️

Sooo happy to know you and your friends are doing the April bodyslims programme. I will be doing it on my own, but now I do not feel so alone. Let’s do this! 💪💪
I’ve been trying to use MyFitnessPal but… is not that intuitive 🥴😵‍💫. But I will insist until I understand it. 😅😂

This may be too deep a question, but I would be interested to know if part of your weight loss success involved changing how you saw or thought of yourself in a way that "made space" for an identity as someone who was slim or successful at managing weight. I went through trauma in my life too, and despite having done a lot of therapy am only now realizing how shame-based I still am, responding to life through a filter of shame that I didn't fully recognize was there until the last few weeks. It's made me aware of how part of my weight loss journey will require me to let go of the "weight problem" as part of my identity. Anyhow, that's therapy for me to do, but at a high level was just curious if a shift in how you thought of yourself was a success factor for you.

I was not breast fed (in 1956 when I was born, moms did not do that so much). What I know is that I had a happy childhood with a happy mom, and happy aunts who did not breast feed my cousins. My brothers, cousins and I all agree that there was not any loss or deficit from no breastfeeding. Instead, as adults, we all look back so happy with our sweetest memories of time with our moms, just as it was. Bless you for making your very considered decision and deciding for health. That is the greatest gift, bar none.
