My sport coats doesn't cost $500 and my dress watch is a $100 Seiko solar that I put a leather strap on.. But even if I am not interested (or able lol) in spending a month's wage on a timepiece I do admire the beauty of these watches.
How does the Tudor 1926 NOT cost $1926?? They definitely missed out haha. I love this Tudor though! Definitely my favorite from the three options today (:
I'm in love with all of them. Probably leaning more toward the Rado, but I could see myself buying all of them. The Tudor's contrast between the blue and white on its dial is amazing as well. I don't know what I like about the Longines, but I also really like it. I wish i had thousands of dollars to throw away to buy watches.
So how is the weather in Nigeria these days? Well, it was fun messing with you😅. You thought that you had hooked a big one, didn't ya. 😆Sorry to disappoint.
Just love that sector dial. I think it’s going to be my wedding watch. Thanks for the video and comparison, Teddy. And congratulations on your own engagement!
I have the rado - it’s an amazing watch. Stick it on a perlon strap for less bling and it’s stunning. Finish is excellent and black record dial is so cool going from deep black almost matt to textured depending on the light.
The day date and oyster prince also have it and are a bargain, but fkin hard to find here in Spain, though the older models are findable and have the Rolex crown and seal on the back..another bargain IMO
Nice trio, the Rado is my favorite of these three but the Tudor is my favorite because of the size and the water resistance ! I got a Certina DS-1 Big Date 60th Aniversary that fills the role that these watches represent. Nice video and keep the good work my friend!
I don't have a problem with 21mm or 19mm lug widths. It seems there are quite a few more watches using that size now, and I can generally find replacement bracelets and straps that size.
I have to agree with you Teddy, out of the three it would be the Longines Sector Dial but mine would be the white (actually slightly cream) dial but I'm a tad biased as I have one on the leather strap. I could add another contender to this trio and is another Longines Tuxedo three hander. The only downside compared to the sector for some people may be the longer lug to lug but having said that the lugs taper down well so It's one I'd suggest trying on the wrist.
Been wearing an ETA-powered 1926 since we headed into the pandemic. Been a great beater that becomes more versatile on straps, and there's a LOT of configurations to choose from.
For everyday, I like having a power reserve indicator, or reserve de marche. I don't know if I'm going to stay static or move, so it's really convenient. But I liked the Tudor and Longines. Very nice.
All 3 are awesome. Ppl like to hate on the Tudor but lack some perspective..the 1926 is basically a better sized, more attainable, fkin screw down crown 100m WR IWC Portuguese.
I have seen many Rado models at Macy's over the years, and the brand never appealed to me. However, Teddy got me excited about the Golden Horse with this dial & bracelet! Then he dashed my spirits when Rado was too cheap to make the bracelet with a micro-adjustment! Hopefully Rado will see this video and update the Golden Horse to increase its sales.
Would love to see a video on the West End Watch Co! criminally underrated, cool vintage styling, and ties to Longines. was the watch Lawrence of Arabia wore!
It's weird I didn't like the golden horse until I saw it on wrist, then it looks much nicer. I feel the Mido Baroncelli COSC and Tissot Powermatic 80 and COSC might be better options and look nicer than these IMO for a lower price.
Union Glashütte Noramis pops up my mind. There is quite a nice variety of different versions ( my favorite was the first limited edition of this watch from 2020).
The beauty and simplicity of the Longines Heritage Sector is finominal. It is however out of my reach for now. Perhaps a pre-owned sometime in the future!
This Longines ranks as one of those special watches where I feel absolutely certain about its place in my collection - a watch that I will never willingly sell. The BoR bracelet is stunning as well. The winding is silky smooth and its timekeeping is impeccable, actually better than my BB58. The only criticism I would raise, is the lack of meaningful water resistance. If Longines released this line of watches with 100m water resistance, it would punch way outside of its category.
Great presentation, as always, Teddy. Would you consider doing a direct comparison between the Rado Captain Cook and the Longines Hydroconquest? All my best.
i went into my local jewellers the other day to look for a new watch. tried on the 1926, which I liked the look of online, but it really didn't suit me when I tried it on. happy anyways. came away with a black bay 58
Same... It looks gorgeous on B-rolls and pictures but it left quite of a 'meh' impression on me when trying it in person. Shame, I was really ready to get it...
nice jacket Ted! give us the link. tudor should have not put ROTOT SELF WINDING on the dial. thats like having a ABS badge on the outside body of a lexus
Hi teddy. Love your watch videos. Have you heard of a microbrand called Straum? Thier watches have amazing looking dials and have sellita SW-200A movements. But I haven't seen anyone review this brand.
Teddy - love the content, thank you. Curious about something: how do you become an AD and are you pursuing any other brands to become an AD for? Would love to see JLC, GS, Omega, etc. Thanks!
I've been looking to get my hands on the Tudor 1926 b/c of the simplicity of the design. The specific model is the M91650-0008 (black dial with silver markings). I find it's a "sleeper" in the watch community 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
Great Video and with the Rado you pulled one out, that I wasn´t aware off so far. Just from the looks, it is a close call between the Rado and the Longines. In the end for me the Rado wins, because one element I can´t stand on the Longines dial. The cutted 6. I simply don´t like it when the numbers are cut in half to make room for a subdial. A simple vertical line at the spot of the "half 6" would most likely have maade this my number 1. But as it is right now, it´s the Rado for me!
Very impressive, even the bracelets on these watches are stunning too. Sigh. This video is yet another reason why I keep getting lost in the rabbit hole of this hobby.
For me, a dress watch must first and foremost be simple and elegant, regardless of the thickness. The Rado and Logines have too much on their dials for that and the Tudor somehow has a too restless dial to look elegant and simple. But the Tudor looks nice and the the Rado isn't bad too Although some will say they are not dress watches because they are too thick.... I prefer my two Tag Heuer Calibre 5 watches in the "similar" price range as "dress watches".
I’m in between Tudor royal , Tudor 1926, Maurice Lacroix Aikon , I was considering longines hydroconquest but I don’t love the braclet on it .. Any suggestions or input please I’m looking for Swiss automatic with a budget $1,500-$3000 ish. I currently own two tissot - prx black dial automatic and the seastar 1000 sunburst blue dial automatic
Great review as always TB! You're my go to for reviews and overall watch knowledge. Any chance we can get an in-depth review on the Cartier Santos? Has such rich history.. would love to hear your review on it. Suggestion for the website. User profiles? That way folks can create 'wish lists' of watches they want. Maybe a section to state what your current collection is. My watch wish list on amazon is quite extensive, as is most folks on here I bet, so having one on TB.com would be great as well. Current TB.com wishlist: Velos Mako v3 (blue dial), Laco Augsburg Thank you Teddy for all the knowledge!
I agree the 1926 is an attractive watch. But I have had one since 2018 and it’s a major POS. It’s the 39mm with silver dial and rose gold indices/hands. When I bought it, the watch was 6 seconds slow per day. Tudor AD said it was within specification. Now, three years later, it is 25 seconds slow per day with an extremely low amplitude (~250 degrees). The Tudor AD still won’t send it back saying it’s within specification. Worst money I’ve ever spent. My black bay 58 is 0.5-1 second fast per week!!! Save your money and buy a COSC watch. I tried to trade this in for another watch and the big gray market company (C&C) offered me just over $600. Worst watch ever.
Sorry for your experience. But your comment was refreshing. Most people only talk about their watches when they're happy with them. Wasn't expecting you'd buy another Tudor. Glad this one works better.
@@shuycg Slight update. I sent my 1926 to an independent watch repair center in Florida. They overhauled the entire watch, replaced the mainspring, along with a few other components, and one of the wheels. They also gave it a light polishing because I had beat it up pretty well. The watch keeps excellent time now - just about 1/2 second fast per day. It cost about $850, but was well worth it to me, it saved a watch I really liked. P.S. I've bought a couple more tudors too in the meantime and all have been great.
Hi. Its my first time buying a watch. I’m thinking about getting this tudor or tag carrera. I want it to be versatile. Is there any other recommendations? Thank you
I purchase a Tissot watch from your Business last night, and I’ve been trying to reach someone at your business all day today via the number listed on the website but no success.
That space between the bracelet and the case on the Longines is a huge eyesore. As for the Tudor, the Selitta movement is rubbish. I own a Oris Divers 65, I absolutely love the watch but the poor power reserve and awful accuracy are a real letdown.
Only thing holding me back from buying a Rado is that where I was born, in Pakistan (and also in India), Rado is such a common brand. You can find vintage and new Rado starting at $50. Rado is like timex over there lol. It holds no weight. So that turns me off from Rado. Just wanted to give my unique perspective lol. Im sure if you’re able to find Rado’s sales numbers, Pakistan and India would EASILY be the biggest demographic.
For me a dress watch needs a leather strap. I never get it why people buy a dress watch with a steel band. It doesn't lookt like a dress watch anymore.
Rado seems to have lost their way on this one regards the name golden horse with two seahorses is strange; would have liked markers for the seconds too as the dial backdrop is really very nice . . . :>/

Longines Sector Black is absolutely beautiful.
I love the unique design so much!

kinda ye xd

I love that Rado. My dad used to have a Green Horse when I was a kid, wish I still had it.
So how is the weather in Nigeria these days? Well, it was fun messing with you😅. You thought that you had hooked a big one, didn't ya. 😆Sorry to disappoint.
You could get a new one. The dials are gorgeous
Excellent choices! That Tudor is magnificent though. Those colors of the dial are simply insane!
By far the best of the dial variants IMO
Another fabulous video Teddy! As a Tudor fan girl, I must say, the 1926 doesn’t get enough LOVE! Thank you for this video!
Out of all the options, it really caught my attention. I was thinking it would be one that my wife and I could share.
Three beautiful watches. My favorite is the one on my wrist today: the Tudor 1926 in 39 mm. One of the best everyday watches out there in my opinion.
Where’d you buy that type of strap If you don’t mind me asking lol broke my bracelet so am in need of a strap or something
Rado is the best one among those three. However a tudor style with a fluted bezel is something watch enthusiasts should keep on their radar...
They all look great, but honestly, the Rado Golden Horse is my pick of the three. Stunning dial and a quirky but unique feature with the anchor.
Agreed
I love that Rado. Excellent!
I don't have a problem with 21mm or 19mm lug widths. It seems there are quite a few more watches using that size now, and I can generally find replacement bracelets and straps that size.

For the price... Rado watches are fantastic.
The Tudor looks like a Hamilton jazz master I once had. As a Longines nerd, I'ma go with that! Great vid once again TB, thank you.
I think the left field choice from Longines here is actually the 36mm Legend Diver, I think it wears almost like a vintage Explorer with a twist.
Watching from Dubai 🇦🇪 always! God bless us all 🙏🙏🙏🇵🇭
Thank you very much for making these type of video. Please make more. Really enjoy watching your channel.
That Rado is gorgeous! 😍
I'd go for the Tudor. Price wise, and brand wise.
Been wearing an ETA-powered 1926 since we headed into the pandemic. Been a great beater that becomes more versatile on straps, and there's a LOT of configurations to choose from.
Love the cosmtic design of the 1926. I really wish they would give it a nice in house movement raise the price on it.

Baltic MR01 definitely belongs on this list now

Union Glashütte Noramis pops up my mind.
There is quite a nice variety of different versions ( my favorite was the first limited edition of this watch from 2020).
It's a mix between the Tudor and Longines. Though, as much as I love Union Glashutte, I think the Tudor and Longines fit this group a bit better.
The beauty and simplicity of the Longines Heritage Sector is finominal. It is however out of my reach for now. Perhaps a pre-owned sometime in the future!
I'd like to see more videos like this. eg same sort of budget/everyday piece.
Great vid! Waiting for you to show us your updated watch collection, or at least a second subscribers watch collection video.
The Monta Nobel is a also worth a shout

Longines Spirit is also perfect for this job
I just brought the Tudor 1926
Excellent video as always!
Love your videos!! Let's see your vintage collection!!! Gonna keep bugging you haha
I would like to see you do a review of German watch maker D.Dornblüth & Sohn.

I've seen the Rado irl, its absolutely gorgeous. Looks like it could cost 100k
That Tudor... Hardpass!
Not even an ETA ffs... Unreal.
Well eta and sellita are the same
@@lucadesanctis9063 not really. But feel free to believe that.
I would say the 1926 is more comparable to the royal than the black bay. Both great value options.

Tudor 1926 for me please :-)
The Longines is so close to the Baltic HMS002
I’d choose the longines. Tudor isn’t very available in India and if I was going for Rado it’d be a ceramic one.
@teddy is this a post by you or is someone using your photo to scam your subscribers?
