Jay & Amber, you'll love his "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Fortress Around Your Heart", "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" and "We'll Be Together"!!!
Sting "FORTRESS AROUND YOUR HEART" (OPTION 2 from original videos is best sound quality). This is Sting's favorite of all his songs... And definitely mine also. 🔥🔥🔥
If you want to see something truly beautiful, watch "All this time". Sting was set to do a concert at his home in Italy on 9/11. After the planes crashed into the twin towers that morning, they all got together and decided to carry on with the show, but to change the set list to reflect the mood of the moment. Its the best I've ever seen of Sting, somber, emotional, so heartfelt, and a much needed tonic for what we all were feeling that day. Its really a must see.
I think this is one of my all-time favorite love songs. It’s just so dang good. I was concerned it would be too slow for Jay but I’m glad you both enjoyed it.
Sting’s solo career is composed of such stunning music. Goosebumps every time. Speaking of “dance” I’d also highly recommend “They Dance Alone” beautiful song and I love the saxophone on it.
The thing about Sting is that his love songs are not generic and superficial. It is spiritual journey and with deep philosophical thoughts. His approach is always unique and classy.
Jay & Amber react next to songs on his first album after he left the Police, such as "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Fortress Around Your Heart", " "Russians" and Love is The Seventh Wave". Thanks. 😎
What I love about this song are the unexpected chord changes. It just takes you on an unexpected journey that is both beautiful and full of lovely surprises that make sense once you hear them but that you can’t predict. Snd that’s one thing that sting says intrigues him about other musicians. This is a classic example of just that.
Sting is my actual number one artist for the last 45 years. And Sting while in the Police was the greatest band on Earth! My favorite thing to watch is when you both hear the “brightness” of the 80’s Bass Sound with a Synth influence and you both smile widely and just begin bopping and moving with genuine smiles. And this is why those songs were so popular. They made you smile!
I was smiling and getting goosebumps watching Amber absorb this one! You are really getting it! With that in mind I suggest for Amber to listen to “Seven Days” next.
The song with him in the room with the candles is The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger. His music is a rabbit hole of delicious sensations and images.
It shouldn't surprise you that Sting is a former educator. Each of his songs is rich in history, imagery and literary references. That said, you should give They Dance Alone a listen. It was very much attached to things that were happening at the time it was written.
I saw Sting in concert with The Police on their last tour in 2008. Then I saw him in concert as a solo artist in Oct 2023 at the Hollywood Bowl. He is the coolest guy on earth in my view.
This is one of my favorites of his - I'm a closet romantic (no matter how dead my heart sometimes is), and this is pretty much what every traditional, red-blooded woman wants to hear from a man.
LOVE this song, especially the album version. I met Sting briefly when he was in NY in the cast of his musical "The Last Ship", an undeserved flop. All the songs were original except for this and "All This Time", also great. He was very humble and friendly. His "Ten Summoner's Tales" tour was the first gig I ever went to, and there isn't a single dud on that album.
This is my favorite Sting song, "Desert Rose" my second. Thanks so much for reacting to "When We Dance." I heard (on tv) trumpeter Chris Botti tell someone that the first time he heard When We Dance, it was on his car radio, and he was so overcome with emotion he had to pull off the road to finish listening to it. As for Desert Rose, I strongly recommend you at least watch on YT (not necessarily react to) the joyous, live performance Sting and Cheb Mami rehearsed for family and friends the night before a planned world-wide broadcast. A beautiful belly-dancer named Haifa joins them onstage about halfway through (exact video title is "STING, Desert rose"). The next day, just hours after the Twin Towers fell in NY, Sting performed the song Fragile instead.
A perfect track. And yes, I’ll say the quiet part out loud…he is effin’ hot. Amber is right. He’s one of the most intelligent songwriters and lyricists out there. But he taught English, so no surprise.
I've not heard this before, but you are right, it is beautiful. "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" is another song by Sting that I think you'd enjoy. ❤🎶🇬🇧
STING has a ton of great solo songs. This is a beautifully written song but songs to check out - "Fortress Around Your Heart", "Russians", "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "We'll Be Together", "If I Ever Lose My Faith", "Brand New Day", "All This Time"... THE POLICE - you still need to react to "Synchronicity II", "King of Pain"
I still think Sting's best solo stuff are on the jazz infused first two albums. If You Love Somebody Set Them Free, Shadows in the Rain, Moon Over Bourbon Street, Fortress Around Your Heart, Englishman in New York, They Dance Alone, Fragile, We'll Be Together
One of my favorite Sting songs is a cover of Hendix' "little wing". Going back to time with the Police, try "voices inside my head". Not a lot of lyrics, but you'll probably be bouncing in your seat. If you keep notes for songs to fit certain times, keep note of "shadows in the rain" for Halloween. Maybe " murder by numbers" too. Something just crazy hectic? "No time this time". Between his solo and time with the Police, there's plenty of good stuff.
You've heard Sting as a musician. Now see him as an actor (in his younger days) in the 1984 version of Dune, which your movie reactions should get to sooner or later. It may not be "art" as the critics would say, or the purists who love the book wouldn't care for, but it's still a pretty good movie for its time. Check it out!
With all the craziness and hate in the world today, Sting's voice is the soothing tonic that gets me through some really tough days. Loved watching the two of you close your eyes and drink in the lovely lyrics and smooth melody of this song. Fields of Gold is another favorite of mine, and it's the perfect complement to this song.
I saw the final concert for the Police. I have seen Sting. This is one of the most gorgeous songs he has produced. His singles career is glorious and even erotic. Amber your reaction to this song is magical. You got it like I did. It is a song for all kinds of love no matter what. If everyone could feel this love it would be beautiful. All men should be Sting. Unafraid to express every trueness within them. I might switch for a man like that. Wholly embracing. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
When my oldest was a newborn and wake in the middle of the night I would play this song. Actually I would play the whole best of sting CD while I slow danced and rocked her to sleep. She is 28 years old now ❤❤❤.
"Wrapped Around Your Finger" is the Police song with all of the candles in the video. I just saw Sting in October in Houston and he was phenomenal. Can't go wrong with The Police or Sting's solo music.
Recently rewatched your first hearing of AC/DC IN THE beginning, and your disdain for rock. You really have grown and expanded your knowledge base of music. I can proudly say qt7 the last thing I listen to before bed every night is your 3 picks of the day and you and your wife bantering back and forth over every song. LOVE YOU GUYS, THANKS
The Police video with the lit candles was: "Wrapped Around Your Finger". My favorite! I kept asking for you to react to it and you finally did. I'm glad you finally got to experience that awesome video! Sting has said that he will Not leave his money to his children when he dies, so there's that side of Sting.. He can't take it with him; he can't hook up a U-haul to a hearse..
There is a video of Andy Gibb singing with Olivia Newton John singing a song Barry Gibb wrote to his wife called “Rest Your Love on Me”.It’s a beautiful song.
This is another great song by Sting. You guys should check out the studio version of 'Its probably me' by Sting from his album Ten Summoners tales, its superb-Colin Ward
Love❤ Sting music, songs and performances. From the police and as a solo artist. To many song but check "Mercury Falling, A Thousand Years and Fortress. Great reaction 😊 👍🏼
I’m a big fan of listening to music with you guys. You are both articulate, feeling, and generous and I can understand why you have so many subscribers. Congratulations on your success.
Sting's music, to me, has always been so authentic.. his lyrics are always thought-provoking.. and in a weird way,, again in my opinion, his music always seems to court the environment and everything that is pure. Love his talent (and he's always been a sexy, sexy man..) :-)
Thank you both so much for your genuine reactions to this incredible song. I grew up listening to and adoring Sting’s music with my family, but I discovered and fell in love with this specific song in high school and it gives me goosebumps and (just as Jay said) a feeling of levitating to this day. That last chord change is truly magic. Thank you both again for allowing us to re-live so much amazing music and film with you!
All This Time, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, and Tea In The Sahara (The Police) are 3 of my favorite songs that I hope you'll do some day. And congratulations on 500k subs!
He's an incredible artist who never fails to deliver. Amber mentioned a conversation with him, check out the Sting Interview on Rick Beato's channel. Rick interviews Sting and Dominic Miller (who writes and performs with Sting). Their level of musical understanding is epic.
Thank you so much for sharing your first reaction to this classic and beautiful song. I want to echo a bunch of the other comments who recommend “Fortress Around Your Heart”. One of my favorite songs by Sting and one of his also. From his first solo album, THE DREAM OF THE BLUE TURTLES. I think you have reacted to at least one other song from that album.
This song is yet another love song of his with a twist, he hates writing boring love songs. I've seen him live in concert twice and will make it a third next time he tours Australia. For another beautiful song of his, check out "The Pirate's Bride" from his Symphonicities album.
Having been a fan of his since his time in The Police (I was in middle school when I first heard their music and am now 56 years old) and seen him in concert 14 times and counting, this is one of my favorites to hear him do live in concert. Very calming and beautiful. LOve the layering he does.
“Fragile” is my favorite Sting song. Beautiful beyond words.
They reacted to that song. You can watch it. 🙂 It's one of my favorites also.
@@user-or1ye3iz6dwow! Brilliant I’ll find that now, thanks
"Fields of Gold" is awesome
Oh yeah, forgot about this one, a really good one!
“Fragile” is another stunningly beautiful song.
Yes, second this~ Fields of Gold is my favorite~!
“Fields of Gold” was my wedding song.
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Fortress Around Your Heart", "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You" and "We'll Be Together"!!!
Great recommendations!
@@glenndespres5317 thank you!
Agreed, really good recommendations!
"Fortress around your heart" is my favorite!! ❤️❤️❤️
Your going way back to his first solo album.... nice ! Fortress around my heart has always been a favorite.
Sting was an English teacher before being in the Police which is why he has great lyrics.
Sting got me through tough times in college. His music is very cerebral but also amazing sounds. Always a pleasure to hear.

Sting "FORTRESS AROUND YOUR HEART" (OPTION 2 from original videos is best sound quality). This is Sting's favorite of all his songs... And definitely mine also. 🔥🔥🔥
I second this emotion.
If you want to see something truly beautiful, watch "All this time". Sting was set to do a concert at his home in Italy on 9/11. Yes!
Shape of my heart is one of my all time favorites!
I've had a mad crush on Sting since I was an adolescent. Still do. I'm 50 now. 😂😍
I'm sure you weren't alone lol. He's a handsome guy...
I feel the same way and I’m 71.
I think this is one of my all-time favorite love songs. It’s just so dang good. I was concerned it would be too slow for Jay but I’m glad you both enjoyed it.
They Dance Alone next. Beautiful song.
*STING - FRAGILE* - can't believe we are still waiting for one of Stings best songs!
They've already done it.
Sting’s solo career is composed of such stunning music. Goosebumps every time. Speaking of “dance” I’d also highly recommend “They Dance Alone” beautiful song and I love the saxophone on it.
100%!
Yes, "We Dance Alone" is the song I was expecting. I got the titles confused.
@@UrbanSwaggerme too. Both are great though.
Yes!
The thing about Sting is that his love songs are not generic and superficial. It is spiritual journey and with deep philosophical thoughts. His approach is always unique and classy.
This song is even more beautiful live. Fields Of Gold is another great song.
His entire "Ten Summoners Tales" album is fabulous. Definitely worth a listen....pick any song.
Agreed. That was a fantastic album.
Jay & Amber react next to songs on his first album after he left the Police, such as "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Fortress Around Your Heart", " "Russians" and Love is The Seventh Wave". Thanks. 😎
I've listened to this song more times than I can count. One of my all time favorites.
One of my most very favorite STING songs. It's just so beautiful.

His version of My Funny Valentine from Ashura [2005 horror movie] out of this world, and MOONLIGHT from the Sabrina soundtrack are AMAZING
Please review "They dance alone" such an amazing song with such a strong message about the atrocities in Chile, its truly heartbreaking.
Sting is a legend

My absolute favorite Sting song. So soothing and mellow. I love ALL of his songs, absolutely an amazing artist.🎼
I was smiling and getting goosebumps watching Amber absorb this one! You are really getting it! With that in mind I suggest for Amber to listen to “Seven Days” next.
Yes! One of my favorite songs, and I think a really underrated one of his. I second the rec of "Be Still My Beating Heart"!
The song with him in the room with the candles is The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger. His music is a rabbit hole of delicious sensations and images.
It shouldn't surprise you that Sting is a former educator. Each of his songs is rich in history, imagery and literary references.

A Sting song to hear is Brand New Day, which features Stevie Wonder on the harmonica. That 1999 song will lift your spirits.
Stong - Fortress around your heart / if i ever loose my faith in you / be still my beating heart
The Police - Synchronicity 2 / king of pain
Loads of great Sting songs to still react to. I recommend, for example, 'Fortress Around Your Heart,' & If You Love Somebody, Set them Free.'
Genius! Saw him in concert probably the best concert I ever saw!
"Brand New Day" is one of Sting's finest grooves
I saw Sting in concert with The Police on their last tour in 2008. Then I saw him in concert as a solo artist in Oct 2023 at the Hollywood Bowl. He is the coolest guy on earth in my view.
Huge fan of both the Police and Sting! Love "Straight To My Heart" from Nothing Like the Sun album!

A good one for sure, and impressively, so much more and better in his solo library
A perfect track. And yes, I’ll say the quiet part out loud…he is effin’ hot.
Amber is right. He’s one of the most intelligent songwriters and lyricists out there. But he taught English, so no surprise.
Sooo hot 🔥🔥🔥
Here’s my recommendation, if it’s a song on a Sting album… listen to it… Keep listening until you’ve heard everything he’s ever recorded.
I've not heard this before, but you are right, it is beautiful. "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" is another song by Sting that I think you'd enjoy. ❤🎶🇬🇧
You should check out his song russians. Especially now it sends chills down your spine
I’ve seen him in small and large venues. On Broadway. Absolutely wonderful.

"Mad About You" is also great and too underrated
Sting has made so much incredibly original and creative music. He is truly a legendary artist.
One of his best produced songs!
“They Dance Alone” is a beautiful song as well.
There is no shortage of great Sting songs, but Seven Days is my favourite
Fortress Around Your Heart, They Dance Alone, The Soul Cages are all excellent. Also, Ghost Story
Shape Of My Heart and Rise And Fall duet with Craig David are two absolute must listens.

Sting's voice is so unique. I've never confused any his songs or when he was with the Police.
Ethereal sound, magnificent vocals

Many suggesting Sting's well k ow songs. His finest song, arguably, is "I Burn for You" from Synchronicity....it is technically astonishing
Fragile is also an exquisite song by Sting. A must listen.
When my oldest was a newborn and wake in the middle of the night I would play this song. Actually I would play the whole best of sting CD while I slow danced and rocked her to sleep. She is 28 years old now ❤❤❤.
King of Pain is one of my fav's
Did you know that Sting was a schoolteacher? if you Love Someone Set them Free is a must.
Shape of my heart is such a great sting song. A decade later we hear the heart of the song in the amazing duet rise and fall with craig david.
Sting at his best. Been a fan since i first saw him and the police in college in the seventies and as a solo artist.
"Wrapped Around Your Finger" is the Police song with all of the candles in the video. I just saw Sting in October in Houston and he was phenomenal. Can't go wrong with The Police or Sting's solo music.
BEAUTIFUL SONG! Thanks you guys!
"Songs from The Labyrinth" MEDIEVAL troubadour , totally different!

Little know Sting song is "I Was Brought to My Senses", it is my favorite song of his and he has a lot of great songs.

The best songwriter around at the moment
You’re ready for Fortress Around Your Heart.
That's my FAVORITE of all Sting's songs. ❤️ ❤️❤️
I heard that's Sting's favorite of all his own songs. 🙌

I absolutely love this song. They have another great one from the same album called "Why Should I Cry for You" that is also excellent.
Thank you both so much for your genuine reactions to this incredible song. All This Time, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, and Tea In The Sahara (The Police) are 3 of my favorite songs that I hope you'll do some day.
And congratulations on 500k subs!
If you love something set it free. Great song
Love Sting
I got to see him at Chastain Park in Atlanta a few years back. The concert was excellent as always. My favorite from him is "Fragile".
He's an incredible artist who never fails to deliver. Amber mentioned a conversation with him, check out the Sting Interview on Rick Beato's channel. Rick interviews Sting and Dominic Miller (who writes and performs with Sting). Their level of musical understanding is epic.
Fields of Gold and Shape of My Heart are my Sting favorites.
Here's one hell of a performer.he can do any style of music whether it be rock, soul especially ballads. Blues.
Jazz too
This song is yet another love song of his with a twist, he hates writing boring love songs. I've seen him live in concert twice and will make it a third next time he tours Australia. For another beautiful song of his, check out "The Pirate's Bride" from his Symphonicities album.
I never heard this song before, but I love Sting.
Sting even delves into the great American Song book with "My Funny Valentine"
One of my favorite Sting songs is Windmills of My Mind
Love this song.
Gorgeous song.❤
