I'm going to add cost/specials to the SGC pros column. Also their turnaround times can be important if you are trying to capitalize on the current market for a particular player.

Just a couple things you didn't mention that I feel strongly about:
    1) BGS - I dislike is that their flips often can fall out of position and down into the card area.
    2) BGS and SGC - I like that they have the Pristine grades and I do think PSA needs to have more than just a Gem Mint 10 at the top
    3) SGC - I like the slab presentation and I think they are the most consistent at their grading
    4) SGC - I like not just their transparency and turnaround times, but also their customer service and responsiveness. Huge plus!
    5) PSA - I think you are bang on with them, but one area I differ from you is that I don't like their simple design. It makes sense for people to understand what they're getting, but in terms of collectors wanting to display their cards those red generic labels just don't look as nice as BGS or SGC.

SGC is my go-to for vintage. COMC doesn't have the direct to SGC option yet, but assuming they do, I'll have a couple that I'm waiting to grade there. I also have a 57 topps Hank Aaron PSA 2 that I hope to crossover to them as well. The black borders just accent older paper cards much better. I also like the look of black and dark blue cards in the slab. If I wanted a modern card graded, I'd still prefer PSA, if their prices were actually affordable. Because they're not, I'd rather just put the card in a one-touch for similar protection with the same clear look of a PSA slab.

In a few years no one will trust any company that uses human grading. I think those cards will be devalued as it becomes more clear over time how flawed and inconsistent human grading is. If I am spending five figures on a card that I want to hold long term, I'd be so nervous about PSA or any of these other companies mentioned. You just can't trust the grades. If I'm spending money to hold long term, I'd want a TAG grade and the corresponding TAG report.

Has anybody ever compared sales values on same cards from each grading service. For example I am trying to understand that if a card comes back from scg at a 10 and the same card is graded 9 by PSA, what would the sale of each be. Would it be a comparable sales price? Like the PSA 9 sells for $100 and the SCG 10 sells for $100. The reason I am curious is because I am thinking that if PSA has a stricter grading scale and you get a lower grade than you would with scg or say beckett, then maybe the end result is the same based on a similar selling price? Does that make sense? I have never graded before so trying to justify if the PSA higher cost is worth it. Frankly I think if my card is not going to get a 10 it is not worth the extra cost for PSA.

Great video Scottie. Hard to argue with a lot of your points, but I have a few things to add. I think PSA because of its simplicity looks the best with paper products (plus they grade them so much easier). Until BGS gets into the 2020s, I really don't have a need for them. I grew up buying Beckett magazines (still get one monthly) so understand and respect the name, but they are so far behind technololgy wise than the other three. Plus, sorry, I can't stand the inner sleeve. It takes away the presentation of the card. Just like you, I am a huge fan of CGC. Probably my favorite, but they are the toughest to sell. Great for the PC. I also think that SGC and CGC look the best with modern colored cards. PSA doesn't always look good with the red label and the SGC tux as well as the clairity for the CGC label look much better. Don't forgot the turnaround times of SGC allow you to be first to the market in many cases and also not lose the value of a card sitting with PSA for 60-days. Keep the good stuff coming. Until next time....

Imagine trying to put a baseball card in a Pokémon sleeve. It will go in there, but you risk damaging the card. Same works with sealing slabs. You want the top piece to set on the inner frame plastic (border around the card) not the card itself. If the card is to thick for the slab, then you have the card sticking to front piece when the welding horn drops down and hits the case, then you end up with your card pressed against the plastic. Which if the card moved any during the ultrasonic weld, you might get a surface scuff or smudge.

So a PSA 9 and a raw sell for the same and your saying it is better to have it as a PSA 9 because it will sell faster? Other than the fact that you just lost $18.99 to grade something that sells for the same graded or raw. Yeah super smart advice. At $18.99 per card (and you have to be a PSA club member or its $24.99 a card) there is zero point to grading anything worth less than $100. No more grading lower end rookies for your PC it costs more to grade the card than the card is worth. IN OTHER WORDS PSA IS A GIANT RIP OFF SCAM OF A COMPANY THAT IF THEY BURNED TO THE GROUND I WOULD DO NOTHING LESS THAN CELEBRATE! PSA literally destroyed the hobby I grew up loving and turned it into a giant scam money grab. I hope they go out of business so badly and it is such a financial burden on all the scammers involved that they can never recover.
