Even if you don't watch their streams, chances are that you've heard of them through the grapevine at some point. Boxbox is popular, but he doesn't do as much variety content as the other streamers (as far as I'm aware), so even if he is popular within his niche, people that don't play League or TFT may not have heard of him. It's like how Wolfey and Cybertron are very popular amongst people that watch Pokémon content, but people that don't watch Pokémon content may not have heard of them.

I loved everything about this. Bringing in players who are notable from different games. The laid back atmosphere and natural chemistry of the casters. The interview portions were all in a smaller space so they felt more personal and showed player's personality. Great job to everyone who made this happen.
My favourite thing about this tournament is how carefully methodical and analytical Aaron Zheng is on his own channel and while commentating official tourneys but on this stream he is ABSOLUTE CHAOS and I'm HERE for it.
I didn't know when we threw this event that it would possibly be the last thing I worked on at BTS. Looking back now, I'm just so happy I got to have some of my final memories there be such good ones - and with such good friends. Thanks Wolfe :)

Void and Boxbox are both super talented to have made it to the end with how little time they had with the game. I'm especially impressed by Boxbox for how quickly he was able to pick it up considering he's never touched a Pokemon game in his life. Both streamers will never stop impressing me with how quickly they're able to pick up new games.
I watched about the whole thing of this live and some of my favorite moments were Ludwig juking the ever loving hell out of Void and Lily of all people defying expectations and making it quite far in the tournament. This was SO much fun to watch, I always love it when Wolfe sets up tournaments for non-professional players
I have a lot of respect for Void for being the only one who built his own team. He knew what he was doing and he earned the title of champion. I was thinking he had a good shot from the beginning when Wolfey said he can pick up and master any game quickly. That was definitely the case here.
He was definitely by far the most knowledgeable there. Almost unfair that he was pitted against people who had literally never played the game before lol
jesus as someone who plays smash and pokemon (tho singles) competetively i didn't know void was this cracked. he's by far the best sheik player in the world (probably the most technical character in smash) and now seeing him win this tournament (while it wasn't professional) was crazy.
I was competing in a small official tournament and there was a person who was spectating the match between myself and another competitor and she did the Pokemon Stadium announcer commentary of, "What's the matter, trainer?" and one of the refs came over and told her that she would have to leave if she wasn't silent while watching. The room was very quiet and the vibes were not very fun outside of the table I was at because I got a competitor who was willing to give a bit of commentary on his reactions and was genuinely fun to fight against. Wish I would've gotten his contact info back then.
This event was the most fun I've seen around Pokemon, well, ever. And I attended a Worlds as a spectator. It got me hooked on all this and I'm Master Ball Tier and watch CybertronVGC videos all the time. Thanks!

bit late to the party but yep, BoxBox is insane. To be fair, the archetype that they came up with for his team was perfectly suited as it is VERY straightforward and iirc. he had a pretty complex write-up about a lot of lead matchups made for him, but even then. Actually understanding all of that in such a short time and even being able to adapt if things don't go as planned is impressive. Plus, BoxBox is a chill and funny guy.

Really late, but I have a really good idea for a tournament: The RUclipsrs' parents pick their Pokémon. If they say "I like this one", it doesn't matter if it's Garchomp, Kricketune, or Sunkern: you have to use it. Or just show them all the fully-evolved Pokémon and have them choose from those. Either way, I think it would be fun to see
Honestly the commentary sorta gives me nostalgia for the announcer in Pokemon Stadium. I always had a superstition that if he says "here it comes: Thunder!" it means that particular Thunder is for sure going to miss, and I have the same feeling about Wolfey speaking Draco misses into existence.
Wolfy is doing so much for competitive Pokémon it’s insane. He’s made it super accessible and simplified it down. The scene is only growing thanks to the success of the switch, I really hope Gamefreak continues to improve on their games and the e-sports scene keeps growing

The invitational was my fav project you ever worked on. This took a lot of effort and it shows. and bc of it we had so many good moments like ludwig vs void, Aaron shouting "WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MANIFEST IT INTO EXISTENCE?!" and being able to see you commentate a lot of the matches. I watched the live stream of it and spent the whole day watching that. It was such a fun time to watch the matches cause it was cool to see each of the competitors have their moment throughout the day. There was like no downtime and the whole thing was a blast to watch. I would be really happy to see this happen again sometime in the future.
Thats actually kinda wild to me that you and albert (boxbox) had connections prior to this. Must be kinda cool to see each other in the same field of work. Been a fan of his since his riven days on league and got even more into his content when he shifted to more tft.

Not really, people talk about Alpharad like he's some chaotic jester type but he is pretty lukewarm and very unfunny. You can tell it's gone to his head as well. Guy makes good content but I've never seen anyone mislabeled so much in my life.
