5:46 Wolfe came so close to saying "Shohei is showing off His World Champ difference"
The fact this guy can organize a Pokémon tournament better than the Pokémon company 💀💀
tbf actual ones get hundreds of players and irl spectators this is 10 people and all online plus wolfey got help
Tbf worlds was a horrible event with many many problems and so many people banned for not being a full time billionaire Pokémon player, Worlds was a fucking horrible event this year and i honestly honestly think this is a better event, Also this is an event specifically for Japan since they get no events normally, at least people didn't have heat stroke while waiting outside for 6-10 fucking hours, Seriously worlds was disgusting this year, Multiple people quit competitive because of this event, Plus, This event will probably have hundreds of thousands if not millions of views, I think that's more then a few hundred irl spectators, Also how does Wolfey not get help here lol, He literally doesn't know the language, Yet still wants to hold an event specifically because he wants to show the world how good Japanese players are, This in my personal opinion is a lot better then worlds.@@dang8965
@@dang8965 I know it was a joke
Giving the popularity of the franchise, Pokemon tournaments are embarrassment. They look like a lan festivals from 2010's Dreamhack etc. LoL Worlds CS Majors Dota TI, you name it. There is a standard for esport these days. Those tournaments attract hundred of thousand viewers, in-spite being less popular than Pokemon. Maybe it's notfair comparison, they are probably more entertaining to watch, though even Hearthstone, same turn based RNGish game did it better than Pokemon
@@chrisfacchiano7356 Lol, you know what your doing. Dont move the goalpost, its unsightly.
lol, non-terrastalized tera blast getting the KO on the opposing heatran. certified iconic.
I /LOVE/ Wolfey's commentator energy. Your excitement is infectious AND you're clear enough to help us non-competative players understand and further enjoy these matches. Hats off to all of the Japanese players who showed up- their games were amazing to watch and had me on the edge of my seat!

Wolf just wanted to say thanks for not just setting this up, but for all you've done for Pokemon. You are by far the biggest reason so many people got into Pokemon during the pandemic and these last few years, and seeing you continue to expand this growth with events like this is just the cherry on top. I love the wideo format, but I'm glad you found what you love and have grown not only a career out of it, but brought competitive Pokemon to the maintream audience with this latest growth/changes to your channel.
P.S: tanks for keeping this whole tournament in one video. It's annoying to have to physically find Pokemon tournament individual matches on RUclips to watch the whole tournament. Very glad to e able to watch the whole thing without searching the crevices of the search pages to find the next match.
agreed
I dont understand a thing about competitive pokemon but this is just fun to watch lol
It's a nice sentiment but chances are that pokemon releasing a new game had some kinda impact.
Wolfe becoming the goat of pokemon. Not necessarily for his sucess in the sport but his influence and attracting audiences and bridging gaps. A true inspiration.
Wolfey is pretty much carrying competitive Pokemon scene at this point.
I wouldn't go that far
People love to exaggerate...
making it more relevant than it used to be for sure tho (im not particularly a pokemon player)
After having watched this as it happened, the smoothness of the editing here has been almost jarring lol. Excellent work.
"Bleak wind giveth, bleak wind taketh away"
this is a great concept! way to bridge the gap between the japanese and the western vgc community, well done ^^
I loved watching this live! if anyone wants to see the VOD he has it uploaded it on his VOD channel and it's really under watched with hours and hours of extra content.
2 hours of Wolfe to get through work today, feeling blessed
I am more used to seeing you playing rather than commenting, but I really like your commentary, Wolfey
Good job :D
I was just gonna say the same thing. Very insightful.
@@masterandexpert288 I made this comment at the beginning of the video, and once I finished I would have liked to add that I found very funny the latest matches regarding commentary because they were all together commenting, laughing and screaming lol
Pokémon gets people together and make us get to know new friends, I think it's fascinating
Once again Wolfe this was a genius idea for a video and a very cool thing to try to show how good the Japanese players are to more of the world much respect man
Loved this tournament 🤍 super excited to see more
Killer! That was a lot of fun to get to watch play out! I’m not at all familiar with the meta since Home, so it was neat to see some returning mons.
Glad you and Umbra were able to get this organized!
Thank you for this wonderful competition!! I’d been wanting to see serious matches by Japanese top players like this!!
What a fun event! It's been edited down well and it was really fun to watch some of the best outside of NA/EU play.
Thanks for setting it up Wolfe.
You know I never thought of this when this vid came out but I think I see what this is now. I think Wolfe surmised that Gamefreak might be paying attention to his vids back when they just so happened to change Ice types the exact way he suggested. I think this tournament is a great way to show his ability to manage events as well as commentate. Highlight his inroads to local (Japan) players. It’s what every athlete/competitor wants when they have been in a sport for a long time. To secure a position when they decide it’s time to retire (even if that may be way in the future, I think he’s not more than a few worlds left in him). Great business move, if anyone deserves it it’s him. And we win too with an awesome vid.
You guys should be really proud of yourself of the commentary and this tournament in general. Congratulations to all the players in this tournament. Such good reads throughout and the back and forth was so good. Really shows how great you all are at this game.
Fantastic Energy, each commentary makes you come back to the video if you have it playing in the background - the synced reactions with the Noooos and Oooohs really feeds into said energy - more of this - great work
Wolfey bringing out the best pokemon players! Kudos to this man!
33:17 i legit got spooked listening to this while doing something else 😭
My Internet froze right before he screamed, I immediately had to come to the comments 😂
This was a lot of fun to watch. Great job!
1:23:38 "Maybe we'll see a burn! H a h a h."
immediately gets roasted to a crisp. Lmao. World champ difference baybeeee
Also great commentary I didn’t know you could be so quick haha but I’m not surprised
Awesome event, thanks as always for the content!
Man, this video is so underrated on Wolfe's channel. Massive plays, A tier commentary, and just massive reads by both players.
That was so good.
Great video.
Thanks for the content, Wolfey.
Since first match of Hirofumi I saw your potential, he's very fast for choose your moves, don't hesitate yours desires in the battle! Honestly, I really adimire yours skiils.
Does he have a RUclips channel too?
Furthermore, I loved to see this Volcarona set! ✌🏻😎
Great video! Watched the whole thing.
The editing was SO clean.
One of my favorite things is Yuki and Wolfe excitedly reacting to really good plays
Amazing video Wolfey!
And there was no switch disconnect issue in the whole tournament
W
I can see Wolf do commentary like 1000% I really hope he does for play Pokémon. His knowledge is unmatched
Wolfe shows so much respect for the sport and his fellow competitors.
It's always a good day when Wolfey uploads!
love the content Wolfey ❤
time to get on the grind while watching this video.
Appreciate the editing down to only relevant worthwhile content Nice job, i never watch the official stuff because i never see edited videos from the Pokemon Company...just stupid long ones.
🎉
and so begins the wolfey commentary arc
Watching the tournament live when I was home sick from work is what got me into Competitive
2 hour Wolfey video... I love it
Man Hirofumi looked like he felt bad he put such an intense beatdown on Wolfe lol. Nice content
Wait what Wyrdeer's movepool is kinda nuts... hear me out - sap sipper Wyrdeer + Meowscarada petal blizzard :o
content like this is what inspired me to make my own channel.
Thank you
one of the best things you can do for vgc
The wolfey thug finals at the end lmao. I did not expect that
Wolfey got CLEANED on the last exhibition match, jeez. Great event.
Bro that first game was so crazy
That Aqua Jet to KO Grimmsnarl before it set up Reflect reminded me of one of my recent online matches, where I used Hisuian Arcanine's ESpeed to knock out a Grimmsnarl that wanted to Light Screen (the fifth time that battle)
5th time wtf 😂😂😂 you've got a lot of patience
@@theflashfan3234 no, I just kept brick breaking earlier in the battle
43:38 Shoma's reaction 😂🤣🤣
I was looking for this the other day and couldn’t find it knew I wasn’t tripping
This video is 🔥
Great matches
Absolutely stacked
God that game one Volcarona coming back from the brink of death was bonkers.
And Wolfey saves the day!
Shoehae looks like a vilian with his hands together reminding me of mr burns from Simpson 57:49
I watched this tournament live.
I don't know about this new eeveelution Wolfey was talking about: Patreon. I doubt it'll be competitively viable.
Goddamn what a lineup
I do not play pokemon pvp at all, well I dont really play latest gens at all, but I do like your videos. They are interesting and I am enjoying your work. :)
Commenting because I love watching tournament play, also anyone know any streamers that regularly play competitive pokemon?
Wolfy getting impressed means something.
Loved the video!! (I didnt watch it yet)
Well at least you're honest lol
One time I just decided to poop on the floor and that’s when I found your amazing channel filled with great Pokémon content
Is that a strange insult?
No I just really like his content that much
So inspirational
Relatable

I loved this 😎😊
I can give props when needed. This is one of those time so good job with the tournament.
How big of you...😒
@@micabryant4513I'm sorry but I'm a Wolfey hater 😂
Very interesting teams. Did they share the line ups and specs of each team? I'm very curious about some of those spreads
Wolfie doing better than Japan worlds
Okay, that's nice
dawg how about a recent recap about the recent VG tournaments?
Wolfe is legendary
Wolfey you're a spectacular match commentator! Yuki is also amazing! And you two are synergize so well!
EDIT: Whoa, more different commentators! Awesome! :o I don't recognize some of the voices, could we get a list of who all the wonderful voices are?
im surprised that ray rizzo didn't get invited
I was super shocked to see Shohei lose 2 best of 3 to Kiwamu
43:35 Classic Shoma hahahaha
Subtracting down hahaha
plot twist the whole point is the exhibition match
Good job! You’re the best Pokémon player ever!
Correct
you’re* sorry for being a grammar nazi just figured you didn’t notice and might want to edit it
@@Lol-zw8ks I edited the comment now
I feel bad for yusei his parents named him that thinking he would go on to play yugioh
Oh my goodness
Yo Wolfy 😏👉 Fantastic idea! Loving every moment of this 😑👌 Ty
I know its part of the game and all but somehow I disliked seeing Yusei fist pumping right in front of his opponent literally every single time he gets RNG in his favor. Maybe it gives me the impression of unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Anyway, great job setting this up! I love that Wolfey is giving these players a chance to be seen internationally :)
Is double battles more popular than singles? I always liked watching 6 vs 6 singles.
I’ll work for you right now if this means regular Pokémon tournaments
Engagement
I like tomoyuki's shirt
Did u not go to worlds this year because there was hack checks
Spoiler for the exhibition match:
Holy crap Wolfe got absolutely bodied lol that was crazy
Nice
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
cool story bro
I'm a simple man, I see Shoma I click on the video
Hello Wolfe
When will woflie address the fact that he's living a double life as the notre dame starting quarterback?
you forgot pokemon in the title to boost views my guy
Where is Naoto Mizobuchi?
