Utterly ridiculous. The fact that you don't even need to look at your fretting hand whilst constantly moving all over the fretboard is astounding to me. One of the true bass greats.

@@MattFreemansBassBunkerhey Matt I know you’re answer to this question is probably “just to practice more” but can you do a video trying to explain how you started understanding the fret board so well and how you mastered phrasing at such a young age? You already had this skill so young in Op Ivy. Are you just a genius compared to the rest of us mere mortals or is there a practice and theory or bass players you studied that helps with your incredible mastering. I love how Rancid allows you to be the conductor of the melody and really drive the entire band.

That's a nice bass. i had a hagstrom that looked similar . It had a metal block to position your thumb on. I wish i still had it. I gave it to some kid who needed a bass. It was a birthday present. My father was mad. Supposedly it was owned by a semi famous bass player. I didn't know? Hopefully someone is playing that thing now.
