Incredible game, loved it as a kid. It took weeks but I was able to beat it in the end. It stills looks good, even in retrospect, and the stages are wonderfully imagined and varied. The feeling of dread when leaving a character idle during a swap was palpable.
One thing that has puzzled me is the last stage where you seem to raise a mast at the start, but there is no need to stand on that to get up to the end ledge. Also you can walk through the wall there in the room below.

Like they used the same sprite colours as the background colours so they didn't outshine the Atari or Apple II versions.
I love the movie but i hate this game, never finish it and i realy try it.
