Thanks for this - I run a gaming site and was just doing my weekly "Fond memories" article and this game came to mind. It was so much longer in my memory. Maybe because of the brutal disk loading speed - can't believe the entire playthrough was just 13 minutes.
This game was completely awesome. It could have been called "A Day In the Life of A Sheriff" but Law of the West worked perfectly too. The goal is of course to converse with the various people in town to get information on the various criminals in motion that day while doing your best to not get shot in the process. You can also go on a rampage and just kill everyone, but you end up with a really bad score for it. Something fun is to just randomly pull out your gun and scare the hell out of the all the little people in the background.

One of my favorite c64 games. Definitely one that should have gotten a modern remake by now.

I wish this game was available on that new C64 that came out
This game - even for today's standards - still is quite good.
