  • Are you emotionally burnt out? According to Psychologist, emotional burnout is defined as a negative psychological state that may manifest physical, behavioral, and cognitive symptoms that impair our normal functioning and cause us severe distress. Are you wondering if you could be emotionally burnt out? Or are you looking for advice on how to recover from emotional burnout, how to manage stress, or how to avoid burnout? Stress is an inevitable part of life that we all have to deal with from time to time. It’s normal to feel exhaustion when you feel pressured or overwhelmed. However, when stress gets out of hand and becomes too much for us to cope with, then it begins to put your mental health at risk. So, we've made this video to help you be more aware of the signs you're emotionally burnt out.

But if another person is sad and the other people knows about that everyone talks about it and cares about them

      But we do understand. We all are not alone in this. This whole comment section is proof of that. Thinking you're alone in your pain will make it unbearable. Knowing you are not alone and that your feelings are valid, that's comforting and can be the beginning of a healing process

      I did. A few weeks ago, no matter how much I slept, 5 minutes after I woke up, I felt like I could fall back to sleep instantly. Around this time, my grades started to go down.

      When I got my burnout a few years back I partially lost my ability to walk properly - I walked as if I was 80 years old, because my brain just didn't want to communicate with my body. I know other people who also got pretty bad physiological symptoms; one last the ability to talk for a period of time, and another started losing her hair. It took me 3 years to be able to start work therapy.

    Ugh I relate to all of these. I can't do my schoolwork anymore, and my grades are the worst they've ever been. I used to be so good at everything, but now I'm just sad and tired all the time. I can't even eat properly.
    I wish my parents would get me help with my mental health instead of school...

      yeah, that's the problem, I was supposed to go there for the very first time but I just put on this fake happy persona so mom doesn't worry too much. She's a great mother but we can't afford it so I just keep myself from crying or cutting myself.

    Oh look, it’s my life. I’ve known this for quite a while that it was happening, I’ve been in this position for 8 years regarding my job and was in a negative and abusive environment 4 years preceding that.

    These videos do feel very validating to those of us suffering with burnout and other aspects of anxiety, depression, etc. I personally can relate to all of these, as I'm in pretty late-stage burnout that began several years ago and hasn't relented.
    The only trouble I have with them is, they just say "You need to take care of yourself." What exactly are we supposed to do when we're all alone, with no family or friends, and just barely keeping a roof over our heads by working as much as we can? Yes, if we weren't burned out, we could work more and still be okay otherwise, but when you're in this pit and it takes 100% of your energy just to cover the bare minimums of your life, and nobody is willing to lend a hand... What do you do?
    In these situations, it can feel almost mocking to have someone say, "Just take better care of yourself". How do we take better care of ourselves if we take time off work to recover, and lose our home? How do we get out of THAT trap?

    Yes, that’s exactly how I’m feeling right now. I’m struggling with uni classes, I fear that a friend is starting to ghost me, I don’t have interests anymore, no hobbies, nothing. I have no idea where to start. I need to get my shit together but I’m just... overwhelmed.

    rant : i usually miss 1 or 2 days of class because of stress, i can't even get up in time and i cry everytime i wake up. school is too stressful plus my parents don't even understand how i feel and would send me to school anyway :( It's sad because I am a really hard-working person but my mental illness is blocking me from enjoying studies..
    I'm always tired, i have class from 8am to 6pm almost everyday + teachers give too much homeworks ( i don't complain often but it seems that they dont know that we (pupils) have a life beside school)
    (btw engish is not my native language so be nice if i made any mistakes pls 🥺)

    Right now I’m experiencing the worst bout of emotional burnout that I can remember. COVID is ravaging the world, especially in the US where I live. I still haven’t gotten over the sudden end of my senior year, where I was flying high with a school musical and numerous social and academic events on my radar. Every time I think about this, I still get upset and have yet to accept that’s it’s not coming back.
    Over the summer I worked my first job and actually enjoyed it! I found a sense of purpose that I had lost for months.
    Virtual College is really tough at the moment. I’m finding it hard to keep focused with my diminished social life, and as I mentioned, I’m not really over the sudden and abrupt end to my Senior year. It also doesn’t help that there is a plague happening right now, and that the the world is on fire, metaphorically and literally.
    Every time I try to turn around my performance in school (which I’m seriously questioning whether it’s worth at the moment), I make a little progress, but the drive to be productive is just not there and I slip back into moodiness. As I write this it’s 5:17 AM EST and I have yet to go to be for the night.
    I started with searching the PsychtoGo HigH Functioning Depression, but it occurred to me that I really am just burnt out. Add on to the struggles I have with OCD and it’s a wonderful fondue of loveliness!
    In the absence of my passion for the day to day grind, my creative side has seen a boost which is a plus
    Just ranting and pouring out my emotions here makes me feel a little bit peppier, even if no one ends up reading this.

    Hey Psch2Go, I'm just a teen(17), is it possible for me to be emotionally burnout?
    I relate to most of the signs above... Or is this just a temporary rough patch?
    I feel like I doubt more of other's genuinity towards me and that I'm doing worse and worse in my studies and connections with families. I feel like I'm being insensitive in relationships with loved ones and those close to me, that I always try to deny my feelings for others just so I don't seem desperate for affirmation and love. But it all backfires when the clock strikes past midnight, I start to feel like I'm longing for care and love more and more despite pushing it away... What should I do? Will it all end? :/

      I'm literally 12 and I can relate to everything you just said. If someone as young as me can be emotionally burnt out (possibly, I'm not 100% sure yet), then you definitely can. You're feelings are valid, probably more so than mine because of my age if I'm being honest. I don't know how to get out of this pit, but at least I've finally figured out where I am. I think your best course of action is to try to find the root of the issue, or what it is in your life that is draining you soo much. Once you've found it, maybe try cutting that out of your life if possible. Sorry if this is completely useless information, I just really related to this and wanted to try and help. Stay safe!
