I used to manage a brewery & I think that twangalangalang will most likely be coming from a build up of yeast in the pipes that hasn’t been cleaned out properly or not regularly enough or could be an off-keg that was kept outside the cellar too long, especially in that LA heat. How was your stomach feeling the morning after? 💩
Hi I used to be assistant manager at the same brewery and I can confirm that Billy would often let yeast overrun pipes and let twangalalangalangage build up and effect beers like this. What is news to me, however, is that he appears to know the root cause and yet still would have the pipes resemble an old man’s colon.
If you get a chance to get up the coast to BC, especially to Victoria, there’s a pub there also called Irish Times, but it’s a much more lively Irish pub, open all day including for breakfast. They do a decent pint I think.
Was in a bar in Howth last weekend and an American couple came in. He ordered a pint of G and it came to the table. He then went to the toilet and spent about 20 minutes in there before coming back. At this point his pint was looking pretty miserable with the head almost gone. He picked it up and literally wet his lips with it. I left about half an hour later and the pint was only half drank. Almost an hour after it was pulled and he'd only sipped half of it. They're clearly used to drinking shite Guinness.

When you go east coast... let me know so I can meet up with you sometime and explain and teach the joys of true irish Guinness... I'll pay
Good on you, suffering those pints so the rest of us don’t have to. Looking forward to the East coast reviews. I had to watch an old video from Guru in Ireland to cheer myself up after this. One request _ I miss the Thin Lizzy intro music … enjoy the trip
Hi, what a great episode, not the Guinness, just you struggling to come up with words to describe them🤣. Little Bitch glass was my favourite👍. Really looked like you were forcing them down..burpin!!!!
What if, here me out. thats what guinness actually is suppose to taste like, but the gravediggers is the worst reviewed pub in americans eyes
Feckin twilight zone, mate!
Irish pub looked nice the Irish times
this video makes me depressed I have to leave Dublin next month to move back to the states..
tip 1 dollar/pint, regardless of price of the beer.
Do Americans not tip based on the quality of drink and service?
All yanks expect to be tipped it’s ridiculous
I would be tipping fa
@@MrTuxy I'd say unless the service is horrid, most go for 15-20% on food- servers have to make a living, and it's perceived as extremely rude not to do so. I have no idea how the onus of paying the employee fell on the customer...
About 50% of the time where I am (northern MI) the canned Guinness is better than draft 😬
I think we can come to the conclusion that pints of Guinness on the west coast of America are shite lol. Don’t think there’s been a decent one on this mini series. Ps, loving the series. Get yourself over to the east coast next. Ashamed to say, I love the black stuff, been to the east coast several times and never had a pint of Guinness. Shameful I know.
Beat episode ever!!
Ngl the Guinness guru is a fucking great name. Not into Guinness never tried it properly but you’re channels decent mate 🍀👌 you ever been over to Glasgow to support the hoops?
What's it like trying to record a video in a pub? Do you explain to the people there beforehand or just go for it? Ignore the funny looks etc?
I pretty much tip 1$ per beer
He doesn’t like giving bad scores - because everyone deserves a decent Guinness
LA is basically a mixture of Mexico and Israel. Not gonna find a good guinness
I'm thankful that there's a pub close to me, Fiddler's Hearth in South Bend Indiana, that does Guinness right. Looks like LA is fucked
As someone that lives in Los Angeles i am sorry that i did not warn you about the unpopularity of Guinness in LA. If you do come back please come to my house i can give you a better experience thanthe one that you had to go through. I am also the only proudest Guinness drinker you will find around especially where i live.
3:00 That was Roxanne by The Police or, as they're now known, Sting. A song there about a prostitute. Doesn't give her surname, must give her a call though the effects of 23 years on the game would not render her pleasurable to mine eye
Maybe the tom bergin’s lad has small hands so serves mini pints to make his hands look normal sized
1 drink = $1 tip
Personally, if the pint is $8, I would tip $2. Granted, it's a 25% tip but it's only an extra dollar and prevents you from looking cheap. There's an expression here in the States (perhaps other places as well) that is "throw a couple bucks their way", I doubt it has barman/bartender origins but it is a good rule of thumb here. Cheers, mate.
Here in the uk/Ireland you only tip if happy with the service if it complete shite like he got in every pub in la I wouldn’t tip f all and I don’t care about looking cheap because they didn’t earn it and they will most likely never see me again anyway 😂
I felt so bad for you,, i would have cried.
Does that Guinness come from the fairly new brewery in Maryland?
why do you keep drinking it if its disgusting i would have ditched it long before the first 4 gulps
1 drink or pint does not warrant a tip Guru.
I usually just tip a dollar a drink unless I get food then I tip 20%
So did you just skip Isabella's?
Come to Ireland and try the Guinness superior, avoid Temple Bar overpriced Tourist trap.
4.4 mate? Feck off that was a 4.6 from me mate.
Molly malones in santa monica, owned by a woman from belfast with irish staff, pints were decent
Edit: i think its now known as the jameson? Must have got sold so cant vouch for quality stout
