I just found my favorite new channel. I actually live about 10 minutes from the Guinness Open Gate Brewery here in the U.S. It's great but it's not Ireland. Can't wait to go have a few pints in Derry someday...Cheers
Another great video Darragh. I know it’s not a tourist video, but Derry looks like a lovely city. Stumbled across your channel lad and not a Guinness drinker at all but all those creamy delicious piiints are given me the idea that I need to give Guinness a try. Good on ya and keep it going!
Only just discovered this channel a few days ago. Wacthed about 20 videos now. Class channel and I'm not even a Guinness man. Only started drinking it about a month back and I'm 30. Just sick of beer and all my mates love the stuff. Getting an education here.
Seems like there are plenty of sound owld shkins up there in Derry. Class pints and you only had to put your hand in your pocket once. That will be hard bet.
I envy you Irish folk, I live in Florida U.S.A and there is only 1 good pint in my area it would probably be a 6.9 for you Guru lol but to me out of the several bars/pubs I've been to in my area its a solid 8.5 for me. Hopefully one day I can visit Ireland to have the gold liquid where its made. Slainte Lad
@@PropheticCoachTheresa agreed the one pub I go too is the only solid pint within a 50 mile radius they are cold, creamy and not to bitter. On Thursdays they are $4 pints which is amazing because they usually cost $6 at the pub I go to and anywhere else is between $6-$8 which is shit for shit Guinness. An Irish man is the bartender at the pub and they have frequent Irish folk who live in the Tampa area come to the pub frequently sorry if I worded that wrong. But agreed many Americans don’t know a quality crafted beer. Don’t get me wrong I’ll drink a coors light and all the other American beers but Guinness will always be #1 in my heart. Best beer on earth.
@@alexburke4569 Amen! I'm in Michigan, actually there is an Irish pub in my city, Birmingham, called Dick O' Dows. I think I'll take a little stroll up there and check out their pint. I'm usually an IPA girl but for Guinness, there's always an exception. Personally tho I can't do those American fast beers. Gack. lol.
The m20 on the side of the tumbler means that the pint tumbler itself was manufactured in 2020 so is a new glass, the older the glass, the less bubbles you get to feed the head from the bottom
Iona inn/Moran's bar on Spencer road. Used to be a Guinness bottlers back in the day. Still have the old bottler machine in the bar and the old ceramic bottles too. Definitely the nicest pint of stout in Derry by a mile. Only the Guinness ogs know. Trust me next time your up check it out 🙏
Going here tmrw chap. Watched the video. I trust your opinion tho you do like it tourist cold. You are a serious stout necker. I’ll go to a few of these places tmrw I’m coming up from Belfast first time in my life. As the authority on Irish Guinness I’ll let you know my findings chap.
Not sure if anyone else drinks the same as the Guru, but i drink guinness in large sups and find the quicker you do a pint the better the lacing (shtick) will be. Leave it too long and there will be minimal head left. Also great advertisement for these pubs so the free pint is a tiny price to pay for such free online advertising 🍺
I’m Scottish but have family over in Derry, always go for pints with me uncle when I’m over there. Proper Guinness that, especially when compared to back home in Edinburgh. Edinburgh still has good pints but nothing compared to Derry.
@Gary Quilietti Biddy Mulligans and Halfway House are the two best I’ve had. Edit: the halfway house has the best craic due to it being a tiny pub with a sound lad behind the bar.
The south is famously unfriendly - Cork, Limerick, etc Roy Keane types, they never stopped fighting the Brits. The north was posh, so friendlier. The west was poor but friendly. The east was good except for having Dublin in it😂
Derry man here , have you seen battle of the bogside ? We fought the brits to you know, one thing about derry folk , were nice until its time not to be nice 😉 😉 don't listen to little jimmy below she's on her period 😉
Dude, you should do Guinness tours for Americans, pub tour with the Guru. I'd totally be down for that. Probably the distinctions in your ratings to mere mortals is like the difference between 1 or 2 degrees of temperature. Like Guinness is the shit anyway, eh?
How does this guy only have 8k subscribers quility content can you do West Belfast next alot of local pubs you missed there mostly in Town reviews ill name a few Slibh Dubh Pub, PD, Biddy Duffys, Wolf and Whistle, The Devenish there is also load of others but thats good few local ones
8.2 definitely too low there fella. Not to mention the bar man you were chatting to was oblivious to the channel. By Derry standards it's recognised as one of the best in town.
Dying for a pint everytime I watch these
So true. That shhtick is shex.
I know me too!
Guru is like some mate you want to be having a pint with. Ireland is Ireland. Out in pubs with your mates is magic, especially in towns.
I can only watch the content with a pint.
Pubs are going to add a “GUINNESS GURU 8.7” on the window soon. Legend
went to bittles bar in belfast last week and they have little cards on every table saying ‘bittles bar 8.5, guinness guru’😂😂
Shtick on the first pint was underrated
People are so friendly. Great city for a weekend of pints.
You should do a Guinness tour of Brussels
As someone who's lived here for the last 3 years I can say this is a very fair assessment
binge watched your entire channel in the last two days, love a fat Guinness
Superb video. Heading to Derry later this month. Thank you for producing this channel.
Some of the best content I've came across in a while. Love it.

Know the feeling, I go back n forth between Guinness and beer... not in the same sesh though
Thank you for the positive vibes about out City. Love it.
PS. Your making gunniess a shit heap of dough.
Your channel is class Guru. Keep them coming.
We six of us from Essex just got back from Derry last weekend. Thanks for your video. We had a cracking time.
Another great video! Love how Badgers went all out! Keep them coming

The rawness of this video was brilliant 👏
Next time I go to Derry I’m taking my camera with me to see if I can get some free pints.
Derry…on my bucket list now! Thanks Guru…
i definitely be heading up to derry for a few gargles.
Heading to Derry next weekend, using this as a guide, cant wait, fuck dry January!
I love the Badgers pup and also loved the food would go back again.
Derry's built on a hill mucker lol, laughed at you stomping up them hills lol, hope you enjoyed the craic as much as the pints

America is shite for Guinness. Well, I don't know if that's completely true. But there just doesn't seem to be an appreciation.

John white is the barman's name in the park bar. Sound fella
Watching this on my lunch break can't wait for 5 now
It's the "Peace" Bridge! Have had some good pints in Derry but, none better than in Pat Cohan's in Cong, County Mayo!
great 35 mins great one so far man lov you man
When are you doing Galway?
The ice cream thing was special, talented creation that.
Song in the background at the first pub?
I like this video. Visuals are all over the place but there is something real about it.

Sadly I'll be dead when he does the rehab videos in 2040,,,but I'm sure they'll be great.

The things I'd do for a pint like those in the video in Sydney is scary
Well done Derry! 👏👏👏

The Matt Bar
Semtex masonary

Steve where in Edinburgh do you go for Guinness? I recommend Royal Oak, Sandy bells, captains bar and the hermitage bar.!

The Town I Loved So Well
I’m a regular at George’s and tbh when they’re in proper form you’ll struggle to get a nicer pint of stout in the north of Ireland.
Best video yet
Katie Daly’s in limerick city is a must for Guinness best pint in the city
Not the same without Cozy

Hate that poxy new glass myself...
Savage looking pints though..
Will you ever go to a different country and do a review? In the US they say it’s not the same
@Evan still a few hours from where Guinness is brewed, you know what I meant
The Don! Missed out there.
good thing you didn’t go to the bentley cause it would of got about a 2

Gravediggers in North Dublin. Got a 9.3
Out of isolation tomorrow gonna go for a pint of the best Guinness in Sheffield at the grapes 👌
Chokin’ for a pint just now

Do one in Killarney
A pint anywhere in Derry. For me that’s all I need. 👍
"fuck ya thats good shit" haha
Hard to beat Derry. I've always found people up north way friendlier than down south.
The south is famously unfriendly - Cork, Limerick, etc Roy Keane types, they never stopped fighting the Brits.
