The Swan is and always will be the best pub for metalheads in Liverpool. Best jukebox going, decent pints, the landlady is an absolute star and the regulars are friendly af. Looks a bit rough but you can make fast and honest friends in there. Lost my keys in there once and went back only to find a bunch of bikers had handed them in and were still there drinking, ended up having a beer with them. Lovely fellas.

Liverpool is a great night out.
Was up there for footy n went out on the friday night (night before the game) and lost my phone. Couldn't contact anyone. Was in Hotel Tia for Jamie Webster saturday early afternoon n someone tapped me on the shoulder and said "Is this your phone laa". Admittedly it was via a friend of a friend of a friend who'd passed it down the line as the person who initially found it put 2 n 2 together, knew whos phone it was and knew Id be there on the saturday. It passed through several hands before getting to me and any of them could've kept it.
Like any city (or town), if you want trouble, its easily found but on the whole, ive been numerous times, never had an issue, never felt worried, only ever experienced a friendly welcome and a great night out!!

You won't really get any dodgy pubs in the city centre tbf. Some boss boozers but the actual city centre is safe as houses contrary to what people expect. Mainly pubs around Tuebrook, Anfield, Kirkdale, Kensington, Toxteth, Stockbridge, Huyton, Kirkby ect. In terms of specific pubs I couldn't say because I've lived in my birds gaff in Manni for years so half of what I'm thinking of probably got shut down by the plod

In Liverpool City centre its friendly and very little trouble unless you are looking for it.
As others have said the outskirts are a bit more shady.
