I always have a pint in The Crown right outside Lime St Station. Its lovely inside with a listed ceiling, good old pub that 1. It was the first pub me and mates ever got served in back in the day wearing our Dad's ties to look older! Great vlog Geoff
My Nan and Grandad met in The Crown. Glorious old boozer that. I used to know the landlord many moons ago and he'd always let us go upstairs to play pool on matchdays before we went the game. Ah the good old days 😊
My great grandfather was one of the plasterers who worked on the ceiling when it was being built. Round about 1910 I think. Just saying...lol. My claim to fame.
Brilliant Geoff - I worked in Liverpool years ago - used to tour the pubs after work and Liverpool city centre has some of the best pubs in the country. Used to miss the last train home a lot too!
I grew up in Liverpool back in the 60's in a street like Coronation Street. In those days you could find a pub on virtually every street corner. In those days everyone knew each other.
Hi Geoff just love the simple content of this vlog. Two great blokes, jumping on a train, out to have a few beers & a laugh together🍻. Whatever day we have had a half hr vlog with Geoff always brings a smile to us 🫠💜💜💜💜💜Xxxxx
Just watched this vid lads, and enjoyed it. I live in Liverpool. The only pub I haent been to of the ones you covered was the Wetherspoons in Concert Square. The last pub you were in was Dr. Duncans. Ive been in there a few times. At the end you said you were going to go, next time, to a few pubs around there. Let me recommend a few in that area around Dale Street. Just along for Dr Duncans in the Ship and Mitre on Dale Street, then going along Dale Street, theres the Vernon, then further along, Thomas Rigbys, then the Saddle Inn next door on the corner of Hackins Hey, and then you must go up Hackins Hey to the oldest pub in Liverpool, called Ye Hole in Ye Wall. There's a plaque in the bar stating it was built sometime in the mid 1700's. It was built on the site of a former Quaker House and cemetary. Enjoy your trip next time you're here and I look forward to seeing your vid of it.
Thanks for that Alan. We are filming again this week. We are doing the ship and mitre and the Excelsior on this trip. Going to check out your other tips for our 3rd trip filming. 👍👍🇹🇭🇹🇭
I visited Liverpool from Dublin about 4 years ago ,My BnB was in a drab area near the main Football grounds but the center of the City was very nice . Guinness tends to be more expensive in the UK than larger but here in Ireland its the reverse .Anyway i could tell the Guinness your pal had looked a 10 out of 10 .
Hi Geoff and Al,loved going on the pub crawl with you both,I prefer the blob, the lime kiln, the cheaper bars lol, that john smiths was cheap at the blob,my hubby would be happy at that price, 2.75,it's good to show the cheaper bars and the more pricey ones😊I like these videos with you and Al,x😊
