Forget about drinking Guinness. Ye haven't a clue. Honest opinion..
Get yourself down to doolin, west Clare. That’s where you’ll find the best pint and pubs. Dublin is a kip to us Irish
They are not the most dodgiest pubs they are great shops that don’t overcharge ya unlike the posh overpriced places in city centre …they have the best characters in them places auld triangle ,Bridge ,Noctors,Diggers etc
The boys in Dublin. Let's go. Just missing Wandering Turnip. Get him on board for the next trip.
Roughest thing about them boozers were the prices💰
😭😭
😅😅
The first pub, "Temple Bar", biggest touristy rip off "Oirish" pub in the country!

I save a £1 everytime he says that, I'm on for a city break so far......

I grew up in a pub, brilliant upbringing, my Mum Irish born in Belfast, My Dad Londoner met each other in Cricklewood Lots of Irish there. I was born in 1957...my mum and dad moved up north to Salford City in 1956....watching you roam around checking out boozers fills me with my history....well done lads, keep it going and enjoy....I live in Cornwall now 12 years...St Just, Penzance....well worth a visit...very Celtic....
I live in Cricklewood the most well known pub is The Crown. (It’s a landmark) The Irish in this area for several reasons are now a diminishing community but at the time of your birth there would have been a very substantial irish community evident not just in Cricklewood but the surrounding area.
@@PeterPhosphate what a shame 😔. Because Dad was a Londoner, my younger day's i spent a lot of trips from Salford to London to see my dad's mother and sisters so I pretty much got see everything around the city. All the museums, park's, River Thames ect. Dad a carpenter/joiner loved photography black and white mainly. Outside number 10...on the Lions ect...I've got 100s of negs and photos. Last time I was there my dad wanted to go on the wheel and have his last look at it from above. He passed not long afterwards. Oasis are due to join again and will play at the O2...I will be there..Heaton Park Manchester too...definitely worth a visit to Cricklewood, I'll give you a message once I'm down...perhaps have a drink or two...The Crown 👑...thanks for your reply Peter...
@@johnthedog2857 Hi, Sorry for the belated response. My parents were from the south west of Ireland and my Dad eventually went into the building game as a Carpenter shortly after I was born (1958) If you are ever in the area I am happy to attempt a meet up. We happen to have a J D Wetherspoons in Cricklewood named The Beaton Docket but don’t mind The Crown.

Visit the pubs at 10pm not 10am !!!
THIS
It's more in the day time there'd be trouble.
@@dontfeedthetroll294 midday? Nah
@@NachoInsano You carry haven't a clue qgat you're on about .Firstly where did I mention anything about midday and if you had the first clue of what you're on about you'd realize that anybody who drinks in pub at night is a worker just having a few pints . The ones drinking most of the day will go to the in rhe morning at opening hour which I legally 10.30 not 10 , only pubs allowed open beforehand are early houses . Obviously come 5/6in the evening they're locked and bar man won't serve them anymore as they'll lose their licence. The next time you TRY and contradict somebody, make sure they aren't from Dublin a trained barmaid and pub/club owner. Why would anyone go to pub at 10pm when last orders is 11.30 , and 11 on a Sunday. For future reference it helps to actually know what you're on about before you incorrectly reply, contradict, assume and make yourself look foolish.

You’re not going to find a rough pub in the city centre.I’m from Dublin. If you want rough pubs you’ll have to go into rough parts of Dublin outside of the city centre.
Someone suggested Finches in clondalkin, start there.i know gor a fact people have been shot in the pub.but at the same time.no one will bother you,if you keep to yourself.grave diggers a great bar.gets packed on the green outside in the summer.

I have seen a kick off in a weterspoons with police called at half past ten on a Sunday morning . Me and a few mates used to play nine holes of golf on a Sunday morning and go for a pint afterwards. We called it The Early Kick off.

I shouldn't really be watching these videos - I only drink wine, never go into pubs, and a pint of Guinness would have me under the table. But 'Honest Places' says it all - utterly real and authentic, and great fun. Never miss one!

Palace bar usually has one of the best pints in Dublin
I've no idea what's going on but you've got me walking round Manchester exclusively drinking Guinness now, for the first time in my life. It is what it is.
He walked passed actual old school working class, rough pubs, to go into the nice ones 😆
With the exception of Noctors & to a lesser degree the Bridge House, all others were not rough.
Cool video
Padraig pearse is fairly rough
Noctors, great spot. Always go in with my shopping list 😉
😂😂😂 the best line of the whole video was the bar dude at noctas saying ya could have 250 people in that room and 250 people out there ..on a good funeral like 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's because Irish funerals really are a celebration of the deceased's life. You get the sad part over with in the church and then get some food and have a session in the pub. That is, of course, if it wasn't a particularly tragic death.
Best ad segments on RUclips honestly
Really appreciate that pal
My wife and I toured around Ireland. While in Dublin we decided to check out a, as you say, a more dodgey pub, lest touristy, to get the real feel of an Irish pub. This one had Michael Collins picture in the front window so we went in and had a nice time talking with locals until an older man sitting beside my wife at the bar grabbed her and planted a kiss on her mouth. Stunned, we bid farewell and quickly made our way out the bar. Surely that story is told repeatedly..."Remember when those Americans came in for a pint?"
Hahahah mad story but I wouldn’t say it’s uncommon. Plenty of American tourists
Yanks aren't used to taking liberties in other peoples' countries. 🤣
Great vid fella. Your authenticity and lack of pretensions makes your content so easy to watch, like drinking with a trusted old pal.
Cheers pal. Really appreciate it
I haven't had a drink in years, but 12 years ago in my home town of Thurles, Tipperary, Ireland 🇮🇪, a pint of Guinness ( absolutely delicious) was just €4.00 no way in hell would I drink in Temple Bar, Guinness is shite and too damn expensive. Dublin Pubs on North Strand & Amien Street, Dolphins Barn & Caple Street and others off the main road, Dubliners pubs, great pint, not expensive.
The further away from Dublin the more tasty the pint of Guinness. I once had a pint of Guinness in a pub in Edinburgh Scotland, it was almost as delightful as my local pub in Thurles.
Unfortunately the price of Alcohol has driven people from pubs and this lead to widespread closures throughout Ireland. Another disaster by a useless government. Now they realise their price rises were a mistake, they are reducing prices in the next budget. Too late for all those family owned pubs throughout Ireland... I miss the Craic and Banter in my old local pub..
Flooding the country with people who do not drink though is also a terrible idea. All those benefits are being shipped abroad instead of back into the economy.
@@BlackCubeSimulation flooding it with people who don't eat frys is also a disgrace😅
Brilliant 🤩 your adverts are the bolloxs 😂🎉 cheers 🍻

The adverts are lovely….ill give them 7,7…
Who's gonna tell Wendall there's no 'r' in 'Sláinte' 😂Anyway, Bowes is one of my favourites too! I also really like Palace Bar tbh. I know you guys weren't as keen but I've had many a good night in that place. Maybe it was an off day. Enjoyed the video! Looking forward to the next one 👍
Bowes was bangin! Varies different days init as you say. Cheers pal 👍

None of these pubs are dodgy, lovely pubs. I was looking forward to this one cause i am a dub and wanted to see him go to a few kips like in Finglas, Cabra , Crumlin, tallaght .... load of bollox. All really nice pubs nothing dogy about any of them pubs whatsoever .
Add Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Crumlin to that list.
Your spot on Paddy, its the only way he can get views but I do wonder what would have happened if he had tried to film the video is some real dodgy places
Peter's Pub and The Lotts were the best pints I had on a recent visit. And the Peter' Pub sandwiches are next level !
Visited the gravediggers from Australia last year and loved it
Never been to a bad pub in Dublin City Centre, just costs a fortune and stay away from Temple Bar. The Long Hall in the City is a great pub. Great bar staff in Ireland, can serve more than one person at a time and can take multiple orders.
Bit pokey in there tho I prefer the Celt near Connolly station. Belter pub that la
Does the other lad just pretend to know what he's talking about all the time? The confidence in how he incorrectly pronounces Padraig and talks about the 'Irish uprising' is astounding.

Bowes & Gravediggers....gorgeous pints served :)
The Confession Box in Marlborough Street.
Not been to Dublin for 7 years. Think I’ll be making a return after watching this 👍🏼
More then welcome but make sure you get a pint of the black Guinness into yeah son💪😆
As I live in Dublin now, I would advise you not to. What the lads aren't going into is the city centre is a scungey hole fullnof junkies, beggars & low-lives that'll happily rob you- the tourist. The pub staff will too in a sense. I'd feel my expectations crushed if I landed here after a few days. It was alot better years back though. Maybe it'll come full circle again.
That's Brave going into a Ra pub with an English accent 😂
I have a charm 🤣
Fair play lads for going into Noctors. It was my recommendation after all. Ive been in it few times. It can get busy at weekends. Lots of 'lads' in it. Top lads if you know what i mean. I enjoyed the review. Come back to my city anytime 👍
My old stomping ground. Not really any dodgy pubs left around the city center, you'd need to get out to the suburbs for that.
Clonliffe House, a great pint. €5.
You won't find a single dodgy pub in Temple Bar anyway. Been a fair few shot dead outside Noctors over last few years, The Cappagh House in Finglas was a place where many a man met his maker but not sure if its still open. Old Triangle was rough back in the day but now just an old geezers pub
Gravediggers used to be my local. The Guinea Grill does a great pint of the black stuff in London, and get a wee plate of lamb chops, job done. Love the channel guys. 🙂👌🏻🍻
My Husband and I went to the Guinness Brewery in Dublin a week ago have a certificate for poring the perfect pint 🙃
Great video of my hometown. Just down from The Bridge Tavern you could have popped into Meaghers or Gaffneys in Fairview. Both consistently good pints. You also walked past Clearys (just under the Railway Bridge at the end of Sherrif St. Another cracking Pint in a classic old pub. Keep up the good work gents, I enjoy the channel!
Great video again from the both of you guys. My uncle was telling me recently that Guinness was expensive. Apparently donegal is reasonable.
Enjoyed the video mate, enjoy and like Guinness and Irish stout among others myself. Remember mate the rougher pubs always best, I grew up in very rough pubs etc and always got talking to someone and conversations were always the best. Dublin is great got alot of family over there, enjoy your channel and videos, keep it up matey, things can only get better (not saying your videos arnt good). Have a good one. J. Cheers
Good video. Connie dublin.❤
To any tourist coming dublin , go to temple bar for 1 drink tick the box then walk 2 min in any direction and the cracks the same but 3 euro a drink cheaper
The rougher boozers aren't city centre there in surrounding Dublin areas can assure you if your looking for a row you would certainly get one. I moved over from Manchester 25 years ago did the doors there and here. Manchester was rougher back then.

There's no experience to be had. I could never understand the appeal behind it, having lived here all my life.

These pubs are off the beaten track but they aren't rough by any stretch. I say that as someone who lives in Dublin. The Auld Triangle at a push but genuinely, these are fine.

The rough pubs in Dublin are in the areas outside the city center. I remember there used to be gangland hits carried out in the packed pubs fairly regularly. Never around the city center though.

Love the vid. Try an evening /night time Guinness tasting tour next time in the Palace/Bowes and Gravediggers. Can't be drinking Guinness outside in the rain or an almost empty pub in the morning! The secret ingredient of Guinness in Dublin/Ireland is a packed pub full of bonhomie! All your scores will go through the roof! Second trip is a must mate!
