Your some man had pints in bowes on Saturday night absolute creamer's yum yum 😋 and bumped in to a Indian chap who follows your recommendations on pints on holidays he was an expert on pints in Dublin and was telling me where I should go 😂for the best pints in me own town bleeding gas
Great video Darragh, The Windjammer was my local for years, had some amazing characthers as regulars over the years. Also had barmen who were there 30-40 yrs ( Joe Cassey R.I.P.). Been in it a few times at 7am, strange experience, nobody talking, everyone staring into their pint . Anyway, glad you gave the pint a 8.2, thats an honest score, from an honest pub. Cheers Darragh for another great video
Phil Coulter said that Ronnie Drew told him that the morning pint of stout is the most important one as it gets the taste of toothpaste out of your mouth
Getting into detail an old friend of mine in his eighties always said to slip the little finger under the pint that way If your locked it won't slip through. I have been guided by this Mantra and not dropped a pint since
Having worked nights for a fair few years, that last shift of the rota and going to the pub for a couple pints to finish of the week, those are truly delicious pints.
I remember when Bourdain filmed his Layover Dublin episode and he visited Slattery's for a pint and oysters on his last morning to cure the auld hangover. Sure I'd have a pint in the morning!
I work in a hotel bar where I would often start setting up bar at 9 or 10 am and the amount of people looking for a pint at the time always surprises me
I recall hitting a few early sessions around Fremantle, west Australia back in the day, they opened from 6AM to serve the night shift dock workers at the port of Fremantle-came in handy for those prolonged party vibes from Saturday night. Uhggh, couldn't face the early pints these days!
At the start of the 90's used to play in an all night cafe beside the Olympia. We'd finish about 5/6,have some food and get the money.Head down the early houses, sit in the corner and play for pints. What I loved about them was the mix of people. Some would have the rattle so bad they'd be asking for a double in a half pint glass so they they didn't spill it,some would have come from balls and dinner dances and be sitting in their finery. The places would smell of damp coats no matter what the time of year.
First time I went to Dublin in 2005 we landed at 6am, dropped the bags off at the hotel because we couldn't check in and we walked past Molloys at 8am. Place was rocking, at the bar were 2 posties with a Guinness and a chaser each. Their post sacks at their side. Fucking class
Great video mate.. the only pint I have had that early in the morning is when the previous night hasn’t finished yet and the pub crawl is still going lol..
Manchester UK used to have three or four 'early door' licensed premisses.. Two that know of for definite were; one was around the Fruit an Veg/ Meat market and the other was next door to the Newspaper print works at Ancoats...( then for common folk like myself, there were the Moss-Side shebeens)
Lads going to Dublin tip. Jacobs Inn pod hostel is 50 feet around the corner. I walked past Molloys at 7.30am 3 weeks ago when it was dark to get a coffee in the Centra next to it and there was two old lads having a Guinness looking very respectably dressed. It was one of the coolest surreal moments , still dark and obviously cosy and lit inside like it was 7.30 pm. Needless to say I had to have a Guinness on the way back. Small dry Dub dude behind the counter, no nonsense and will give you an eye up and down to size you up, but just keep the cool and you be grand.
There called 8 o'clock shops in Glasgow. Can't get a beer unless u order a hot roll. Some daft bylaw from years ago. Usually full of crackpots from the night before or posties off the nightshift.
Good to know, I didn't realise there were them pubs....I remember a group of us sitting in Temple Bar waiting on a bar opening years ago like a right bunch of alcos.
The best time of the Day to have a pint . I have never got a settled pint but Always wait for it to settle , and never put my hand on my pint Always grab it by the fingers on the bottom of the glass . Out to Dun Laoghaire with you .
Just come beck from a weekend in Dublin. Was hoping to bump into you as id told me pals all about the channel. Absolutely loved the place and people. Of all the many, MANY pint i sank over the weekend, id personally say the best was actually in the Guiness factory (is that to be expected?) but a definite honourable mention should be Generator hostel in Smithfield. Maybe a shout for a video is to try the pints at places where groups who visit are likely to stay....could help sway their decision? Slainte 👍
I am 36 and having watched a few of your videos I am gonna have my first pint of Guinness today. Why is there so much variation found with guiness on tap?
Windjammer Guinness is unbelievable Sean who works behind the bar is a artist when it comes to making the pints. He wasn’t there that day you were in so I recommend coming back when he is 😂
They're open originally for dock workers and sailors back in the day because they worked bad hours and now Taxi men, nurses, and dock workers etc use them to have a few pints after work.....would you not have at least googled why they're there beforehand?...also you should have went to slatterys!
An early house video and you're late!!? Ah jaysusss lad!! The irony!😁. Your viewers deserve more professionism!!!!! Only joking 😂 I'd leave "da judgementals" to themselves. If a man or woman wants a pint in the morning..... so what? I wouldn't justify myself to anyone. Life is short, do your own thing everyone! Don't ask me how l know but even if an early house looks locked up, a secret knock at the side door will usually get you in!! 😉 As you said a different atmosphere, different characters. Tis good to try different things lads! I always found the fact everyone else is going to work makes daytime beveragos taste all the sweeter!!
Here’s to all those of you who work the night shift. I worked many a night shift and oftimes when you leave work you’re powerful thirsty, just like regular guys getting off shift at 3 or 6 or 11. Or .. maybe you just feel like having a breakfast pint.
I used to work nights every now and then when I was at the hospital. No way could I drink after the shift in the morning. Some of the porters did though. They had a couple of cans before bed.
Hope ye enjoy the vid lads, use my link to make a bitta cash with YouGov: www.influencerlink.org/SHBVH

Was in the Submarine Bar for the World Cup 2002 at 7.00am, Brilliant craic.

Such a great episode!
Common theme here in England with Wetherspoons. Many a pint at 8am consumed
I was in Slatterys a few years ago at 7.30 in the morning and had a great time.
Been to the Wind Jammer many times at 7am. It’s open that early for people coming off night shifts. Originally open early for dockers.
What I like to refer to as breakfast pints 🍻 Always have one at the airport or on the ferry when travelling 🍻👍
Surprisingly the pubs sound busy and lots of craic, I suppose the night crew need to have a place for a pint after work too!
I work in a hotel bar where I would often start setting up bar at 9 or 10 am and the amount of people looking for a pint at the time always surprises me
bars at hotels anywhere i been usually open at 11 or half 11, would a barman give ye one if ye ask early on like 9 or 10 ish ?
Early licences were to accommodate Dockers and night workers

Having a terrible weak, bitter guinness in Wigan watching the guru drink thick creamy guinness. Not jealous at all!!!
I’m heading off to the pub,at 9am,to drink Guinness, and call it work 🐐😂😂😂
Had a great one in Sligo last weekend, 9:20am in the morning, wonderful!
Almost as bad as early morning pints is clicking on guinness guru as soon as ye get up
in london the early pubs are around the markets
Wow that's great man isn't it
"Boss man?!" Is that you the Guinness connoisseur now? Or the chicken guru?! X
Very respectful
Down The Gallowgate in Glasgow You Get A Few 8am Bars
Can't drink all day, if you don't start in the morning! Sláinte
😂
Beer is f**king top-rank after a Nightshift! 👍🍺🍺
being there at 7am would have been better !
Nothing wrong with a pint and a good Irish or English breakfast ,Sunday mornings !👍🏼
@Erik Burgerhagen if your retired !
Alot wrong with having an English one. 🇮🇪 🫡

I'm on my way to Ireland in late July I've never had a Ireland beer before I drink kB in Oz can't wait to have a crack
I’d like you to go to random pubs around Dublin, kind of just walk about and wing it drinking pints. Might find some hidden gems
morning pints ,best time as you have an unadulterated palate, later in day your have had coffee food etc
Look good pints👍When holding a pint I always put da auld safety catch on which is put your little finger under the bottom of the pint glass 👍
There called 8 o'clock shops in Glasgow. Can't get a beer unless u order a hot roll. Some daft bylaw from years ago. Usually full of crackpots from the night before or posties off the nightshift.
Life's a bit mad isn't it lads - the truest statement
Coming to Dublin with a group of 16 next week… where do you recommend.? And will we get in anywhere…
I’ve met some of the most interesting characters at 6am at Bars in Phnom Penh
O'Reilly Bros pub, 1 Inns Quay The Chancery, has a license to open at 6am and has a serious pint.
You took the scenic route from Molloys to Bus Aras there Chief.
Next stop "Inn on the Liffey" lol
You'll need to try pints in Donegal and along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Oh we like an early slurp in the Isle of Man. Couple of old pubs near Douglas Docks, nice 8am slurp. Glad u did this video pal, good stuff👍🙂
Gosh I went to a couple of Early Doors back in the 80s as a early drinker. Wind Jammer was 1 such place. There were several others on the East Wall
Best time for a drink are early in the morning and late in the night.
You need to come to Cheltenham for race week, Guinness galore!
Nice mate. I usually rest when having a pint. You doing Donegal at all?
Basically they serve the lads who have done a night shift. It’s their after works drinks place. Makes sense when you think about it like this.
Living the dream Guru! Well done lad!
Good to know, I didn't realise there were them pubs....I remember a group of us sitting in Temple Bar waiting on a bar opening years ago like a right bunch of alcos.
I know this is an old video, but I have to share that a Guinness with an apple cider donut is freaking fantastic!!!
For those at the end of a night shift.. that is ideal.. just like a day worker having a pint at the end of their day.. same thing..
Do people even get after work drinks anymore
I have my fingers touching only as it's a way of keeping it cooler when I'm holding a pint
Any Guru Paddy’s day merch planned?
Have you ever tried a pint special. Smithwicks with a Guinness head.??
Would’ve liked to have seen the third pub tbh.
The best time of the Day to have a pint .
I have never got a settled pint but Always wait for it to settle , and never put my hand on my pint Always grab it by the fingers on the bottom of the glass .

The pint in that hostel was absolute muck... That was my experience anyway..
I wouldn't stand a fooking paint brush in it 🤮
@@paulbrown7374 haha really. We were a group of 10 and many of the Guinness drinkers agreed it was a good un. We must of caught a good batch?!
@@MrFridaynightclub Glad you enjoyed it man...
Try The Confession Box next time you are over.. Great little spot..
@@paulbrown7374 the taxi driver from the airport said about that place too. Gutted we missed it. Pining to get back over already, loved the place 👌🍀
Man, you're a fucking hero.
If you don't get there till after 9.30am, it's hardly an early pint.
Wish I could go to a pub like that and drink the black stuff at 9 am in my town
Another cracking video, is it ever to early to sink a Guinness, maybe, but straight back thumb on the back of the glass! lol
Love the part at the start you inserted you on the bus and in line
I hold the glass with my little finger supporting the base of the glass rather than the side of the glass.
Guinness is a basic stout. And its kegged. So only thing a pub needs to do is have fresh kegs and clean lines. That's it.
They look like great pints
Breakfast of Champions
Definitely fingers grip 👍
Great video
Looking forward to purchasing a hoodie

Never hid a Guinness before 12 , gony try it now 😝

I am 36 and having watched a few of your videos I am gonna have my first pint of Guinness today. Why is there so much variation found with guiness on tap?
Because it is a very temperamental beer and it is heavily dependant on the bar staff
Great honest opinion , on the early ones .. had many a session in them ... after the club scene in the 90s ! Wasnt in the stout tho
Windjammer Guinness is unbelievable Sean who works behind the bar is a artist when it comes to making the pints. He wasn’t there that day you were in so I recommend coming back when he is 😂
Pint of vodka at half 7am
Morning beer yum
How do you avoid becoming a lush drinking bags of pints?
He's a professional, sure!
Go to cavan man serious pints up there the abbey bar, blessings
Don't these peeps work overnight shifts and this is their "just got off work" pint?
Eh, I've been guilty of a "going to work" pint, too. 😂🍻

Best early house was magruders and the white horse
Nothing like a morning pint at the Windjammer! Went with some friends at 7:30am on a backpacking trip once. Best way to get your day started.
Spent many a morning in Madden’s in Newry. Still on it from the night before mind you but crAic was always great.
I used to work nights every now and then when I was at the hospital. No way could I drink after the shift in the morning. Some of the porters did though. They had a couple of cans before bed.
Harry's mountain top letterkenny will not be bet
I need a career change 😄
Lad if you were really into your pints you would have been there waiting for the pub to open at 7am 😉
I can see that 2nd pint way more watery
What if you work graveyard/overnight?
Seems similar to a market license.
