I currently proudly own a 2022 Camaro ZL1/1LE six speed manual and after waiting eleven and a half months my 2023 ZO6/Z07 3LZ is finally in the garage next to it! It is beyond sad that GM is doing this!

I tried to order a ZLE in early July 2022. Chevrolet dealer told me it would be a long wait and they didn't have a "good feeling" about the allocations. I bought a used 2SS 1LE with 6k miles 2 weeks later. Glad I did.

I got a new 2SS auto in 2016 but was thinking about some modifications but my dreams came true when I found out in 2019 that gm was putting the automatic 10 speed in the zl1 1le.Kept my eye on 1 locally and went for it when the time was right and price. I so glad I got it sitting in my driveway.❤❤❤

Yep I am the same way. This next year I’ll be finally getting a career worth a damn and it will take a little while before I’m comfortable buying something like this. My preferred car would probably be a CTS V or the v6 or v8 blackwing manual.
waited 2.5 years for my car. 2023 ZL1 1LE M6 Sharkskin Metallic . All options including PDR. Car was built July 17th. Finally picked it up from the dealership Nov 16 23. Currently has 52KMs on it. Cant wait for warmer weather to take it out of storage

thank you for giving it to us straight. i saw the writing on the wall as well - have had an order in for a ZLE since 1/14/22, but 20 months later, am *still* without an allocation. luckily, i was able to find a brand new '23 ZL1 M6 in all the ways i had specced my ZLE having JUST arrived at a local dealership here in CA. i grabbed it, even with ADM. i still have my ZLE order in *just in case* a miracle happens, but if not (what with the constraints, CE's taking over all existing supplies and the impending UAW strike), then at least i'm not SOL and have my ZL1 knowing that the universe never had a ZLE in the cards for me.

GM did this before, I was driving a 4th gen T/A when i heard Pontiac was soon to be no more and GM wasn't building a 5th gen Camaro in 2003. Sure enough, the rumors came true. That was a strange time, eventually there was a buzz about a new 5th gen Camaro coming back. When it did, it sold pretty well.
As of last Friday I’m an owner of a 2024 ZL1 Coupe. I’m happy as heck but the way I got it just ain’t right. Someone actually put a deposit down on it but they sold it to me because they said I was there first. It’s possible the salesman was lying but I don’t think he was. I even said to him, “ouch! That dude’s gonna be pissed!” He simply said, “it happens.”
I had my ZLE order in for a year and it was never accepted. Found one a couple months ago new on lot, and had to snatch it up even with ADM. No regrets, it's a beast.
did it have all the features/colors you originally specced, or were there a few things you ended up deciding you could live with?
@@stormzybanksy It had the main things I wanted - Manual Trans & 1LE package. Nothing else mattered too much. It didn't have the PDR, which I wanted on my build. My original order was Rapid Blue, but the one I got is Radiant Red. I'm actually glad I ended up with this color over Rapid Blue though, it's a little bit more subtle.

GM not taking orders for zl1 1le has been going on for several months. I tried to order one in January and GM said I could do zl1 but not the 1le. I ended up buying a used one with 4k miles on it. I would never sell. 2020 ZLE 6 speed in satin steel
Had an order in for a 2024 1ss 1le. Ordered first week of when you could order. Dealer called and said they weren't doing ANY 1le's for any cars and this was last month. Thankfully I found a 2023 manual 1ss 1le and it's getting here this Thursday. So sad to see them not transparent at all. I get the business aspect, but company's love ruining what they have going for them.
I currently have a 2020 2SS and would love a ZL1 but my car is good enough with 18k miles on it still making me smile
Work at a Chevrolet dealership, I’ve noticed that all the latest 2023 arriving, 2SS 1LE with every other option you can think of. 60k+ sticker price plus mark up.

I feel like GM is ran by a bunch of friends and family members that love the Corvette and secretly look down on the Camaro for some reason, the only time they did decent marketing on the Camaro in recent years was when the 5th gen 1st came out and that was it, it was the engineers that made the 6th gen Camaro's so well that they kept on selling because they were that much better than all the other muscle cars, and pretty much all the foreign cars in it's price range too. I feel like GM underestimated the importance and value of the Camaro, and the overestimated this whole EV rush and it's going to cost them financially big time.

The Camaro ZL1 1LE is my favorite car. After that the Corvette ZR1 2019. Very sad to see the Camaro go away. I don't care about GM's collectors edition with their limited production numbers. Just like Dodge and Ford the average guy can't afford the prices they put on these cars 🤬🤡🤡

Yes this sucks big time. Just an example, Imagine a refresh 7th gen 6.2 with a better blower putting out at least 750 hp, updated Interior and the new updated magnetic ride suspension and under 80k. Id trade my car in for that all day.

I’m so glad I did it because I really don’t see Chevrolet listening to the public and building a V8 7th Gen Camaro. They never have and never will. If…. When you build a camaro zl1 on the online configurator and look at the summary page under the 'Mechanical' section you find the 'Magnetic Ride Control' part where you see the line:
'- Deleted from ZL1 Coupe models when available ZL1 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package is ordered'
It makes it sound like the ZL1 1LE package might become available later down the line?? Idk
You can add the dssv dampeners as an option or it adds when you change the wheels. But the build still lacks the full 1le package. GM is using up their current inventory of parts. The 1le extreme package still shows in dealer order books but there is 0 allocations and availability for it on that same form. Keeping in mind there is only 4 months of 2024 camaros to be built.
@@Hot-1LE This sucks. I’m actually supposed to go to a dealership here in the Orlando area tomorrow and build out a ZL1 1LE and then this news comes out. Only 1 out 4 that agreed to build one for me. They said they promise I’ll get an allocation if I build one out with them, place a $3K non-refundable deposit and wait 6-12 months for the car. But just like you mentioned I’ve heard there are only 4-5 months left of building camaros. I’d assume GM would honor the sale if I put the non-refundable deposit down and then they’d build it in time. I REALLY want one and it’s my first time buying a car like this at this price point. Should I go for it or find a used one?

@mathuzala gm cant honor it. Its fully dependent if that dealer gets an allocation and that is chosen by a distribution into regions and then to dealers. Ask them if they have an allocation they will say no. You can put your deposit in as long as its refundable you can get your money back in a few months. 4 months till they stop making camaros chances getting very thin and with strike looming.

I ordered my 2020 ZL1, 6-speed, in August of 2019 just days before the GM Strike, I took possession of it in Nov of 2019 and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with a hand-built Engine that was originally built at the bowling green Corvette plant. Since 2020 was the first production year of the 2020 mid-engine Corvette, the surplus supercharged hand-built Corvette engines were shipped to the Camaro plant and placed in the ZL1s. Just wondering if anybody has any info on 2020 ZL1 production numbers, and how many came with the hand-built engines? When I ordered my ZL1 the hand-built engine was not an option. I would also like to know if the Hand Built, builder Plaque engines have become standard in the ZL1's for 2021 to present ?
From what i found 2020 there was a mix of the hand built from KY and the others from canada. By 2021 they were all built in KY. So ya you def got lucky there!
GM is so mismanaged it’s a joke. The carbon supplier had issues when the C8 debuted years ago and GM still didn’t take the correct steps to fix the issue.

I oreded one in 2022 in canada. My order sat for ever. Found one at a dealer in my second choice in color and it didnt have my manual but i bought it anyway. Not dissapionted just wish i could smash gears. Only have ever seen two other ones they were both white and one was manual and the other was a10. Both were getting upgrades at our local gm shop
This is so sad to me. I was just getting ready to order me one the 1st of October. An was hoping I will receive it buy my Birthday in December. Well Im guessing im S.O.L. again
One would think a giant corporation such as gm would be able to reach out to other suppliers and get the 5-600 extra wings for those ZL1 1LEs they would've built. The cool $15K on the CE package that nets them about $14.9K would be more than enough to subsidize any low volume losses they might have incurred. Then again, I'm naive enough to apply common sense 😆
at this stage in the game, it too late to reach out to a new supplier when the song is winding down.
Not a gm guy but always liked the camero and it’s push for handling and I believe they made the best handling muscle car out of the three .
With that said I always thought the camero and corvette were to close in price and I rather spend 70k plus on a corvette over a camero at the performance

Blame the EPA regs. It's apparent that GM can only maintain one gas sports car (or chose to) in the current environment, as a result they've turned the faucet to a slow drip on the Camaro these last couple years.
Wow GM couldn't find a solution for the carbon fiber wing and killing the Camaro all together really stinks. I will look for a Mustang.

so it seems that GM actually *did* release a final batch of 2024 ZL1 1LE's today - 10/19/23. i heard from two dealers here in CA that from what they could see, there were 24 available nationwide today. if this is true, these things will be more valuable than even the CE's!

@@Hot-1LE i saw the spreadsheet showing 10 as well (from the camaro6 forums), though that was specifically from a dealer in TX, and it represented his region only. he wasn't even sure if his region was just the state of texas, or encompassing more of the southern states. either way, that certainly seems like a massive portion of the ~24 total allocation that was made available.
i called several dealers in CA and AZ yesterday and NONE of them received any allocation. so it'll be interesting to see who benefited from this once the dust settles.

How unfortunate, the 2024 Camaro is just basically leftover parts from rhe shelf. I have an order for a 24 ZLE....refundable deposit, so I'll just wait it out til the production ends, so no loss. If not I'll start to save some pennies for the return of the King in 2025.

23 2ss owner here...such an amazing vehiicle and driving 60 mph on a normal road gets 36 mpg on the v4.v8 mode on a 6.2 L V9. NO ELECTRIC hocus pocus needed. dude! This d\ives as a daily is so efficient! And tro have such force available on a momonments notice! Please GM reconsider going EV. you killed this camaro by not msrketing it. TZhe comp has sold so much more (ford/stellantis)because the execs think ow sales means kill it vs develope Chevy enthusiats will walk away forever, goodbye GM nice to know you. BTW, lithium sources are now showing a resouirce issue. And EV chargung stations are WAY behind expected availability. I'm hppy ro say not a share holder here. Readingthis so far??? SELL! GM dropped the ball on every aspect of the 6th Gen Camaro ... I would have bought another 6th Gen in the 2.0L turbo if they had multiple options like 2 or 3 different gear ratios, should have had a LSD in the Automatic transmission ..HP increase over the years, etc ..

Wrong you can still Build a ZL1 1LE and it’s on the 2024 configurations still all you gotta do is put the wheels on the 1LE and on the back end at my dealership I just posted a video of the 1LE package still clickable, going to be late availability due to the collectors edition taking the parts!
There is no 1le availability and there is no 1le package on the gm website. Watch the video. There is zero allocation availability i addressed the things you said here. Just as your video poster there has been no 24 1le orders. There will be no 24 zl1 1le.
yes there is all you have to do is add the wheels, I am telling you as I work at the dealership level it is still orderable and on the configuration when you select the wheels it automatically adds the 1LE package, and on GMs back end you can still build a 2024 Zl1 1LE see my latest video with the proof @@Hot-1LE
Like i said. Watch my video. Adding the wheels dosnt add the front lip, two front grills, the canards or the red calipers. Its not a 1le. You also cannot get an allocation for a 1le. Just because the option is there on your form dosnt mean you can get it and i guarantee you wont. Wana prove me wrong? Give me an order at msrp.

If any should be ended for stopping production is the mustang should be canceled out
If all that's missing is the dive planes (canards) from the front bumper then all you'd have to do is go aftermarket as there's loads of better front bumper options out there than what GM offers from the factory. Also, the suspension package is really where the money is on the 1LE package, not the aero setup (though it looks cool, it doesn't do much). But I get it, they don't want to produce any more of the high performance options on another gas drinking monster when they already have the Corvette. And sadly, even that will end and go all electric due to the environmental activists pushing their "green new deal" alternatives. More political bs on the way everyone.
The aero actually does quite a bit on these with something around 20 percent more air into the engine and lots more downforce that does get used on track where these belong. I agree aftermarket got it covered but its not all too easy to pop those grills out remove bumper etc on a new car. Hopefully 7 gen isnt full electric
@@Hot-1LE Those that do go to the track will often have to replace items, such as the grill plate, side skirts, canards, etc., due to damage from track use. One of the reason I like the aftermarket on these is they tend to make the replacement not only cheaper, but more efficient for track use. Factory aero on the 1LE only produces about 250-400lbs of force depending on your track speed while aftermarket can produce upwards of 1-2k of downforce at the same speed. The factory stuff is really nice as it provides a happy medium for some aero but not limiting the cars performance on the straight. I had a 17 ZL1 (non 1LE) but had the 1LE aero pack and noticed little to no change on track performance. But when I tried a 1LE pack ZL1 I noticed a significant difference in track grip, especially in high speed corners. Main difference was tires and suspension.
