As the civil war in Syria entered its fourteenth year, the “tragic reality” is that developments are going in the wrong direction across all fronts, the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the country just last month warned the Security Council.
Tourist videos of Syria like this one are disgusting. The country is still in an a civil war. Over 500,000 people have died and over half of the Syrian population have been forcibly displaced.
As of today 16.7 million Syrians are in need humanitarian aid. Tourist videos in Syria are sick!
The fact that you are also selling clothing here is even worse. Syrians are starving in their hundreds of thousands and you are making money on youtube whilst they suffer! WRONG!
The US is the leading individual donor of humanitarian assistance for Syria, providing more than $17 billion-including more than $9 billion from USAID-throughout Syria and the region since 2011
The EU, along with its 27 Member States, is the largest donor to the Syria crisis. Over the past 13 years, the EU and its Member States has mobilised more than €33 billion in humanitarian, development, economic and stabilisation assistance.
Oil and Gas rich Muslim countries are NOT leading the way in providing aid for Syria.
Qatar, Saudi, UAE etc, shame on these Muslem countries, are all absent in providing the needed aid to Syria.
Syria today under its' evil Dictator, is "surviving mainly on aid from the US and EU and you are trying to make money on youtube whilst they suffer! WRONG!

Evil Dictator Assad has jailed 46,000 people, 90% women and children, without trial.

No, but there was a war between two Islamic sects
An Alawite sect, because the ruler of Syria is of this religion, and his sect is Sunni, and this is the religion of 80% of the religion of the Syrian people.
Sunni Muslims do not want the Alawite religion to rule Syria because it is a secular religion not Islamic
For Sunni Muslims in Syria their problem is not only with the Alawite religion but with every religion that contradicts theirs
I am from the Alawite sect and our religion symbolizes peace and love for all religions
But Muslims do not like us because our religion does not apply non-Islamic rules
Therefore there was a war in Syria because they did not want Syria to be secular but rather they wanted it to be Islamic

Sunni and Alawite are sects derived from the same religion, and a significant number of Sunnis greatly admire the Syrian president. Every sect, religion, and community has both good and bad individuals, so we should avoid generalizations. Our country has been subjected to wars from many nations, and for this reason, we need to stand united and love each other instead of harboring hatred and continuing to fight. With all due respect to the Alawites and all sects and religions, I am non-religious. Even so, I hope that all the Syrian people can love each other regardless of any individual's religious orientation.

As a social worker for the german red cross I work with refugee children from Syria and Afghanistan - so sad to see what they had to go through in their young age, yet they try to make the best out of it, alone, in a different country, far away from their culture and whats left of their family… I appreciate that you show what is life like nowadays there. One day, I really hope to see Syria by myself. All the best wishes for you guys out there reading this post.

It would be much more satisfying to support the enrichment of people like this vs other countries already rich with tourism and greedy for our cash flow. I would be grateful to know what resources were available to help us understand if touring is appropriate for us.

That is correct. Blame the evil Dictator Assad.
As the civil war in Syria entered its fourteenth year, the “tragic reality” is that developments are going in the wrong direction across all fronts, the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the country just last month warned the Security Council.
Syria today under its' evil Dictator, is "surviving mainly on aid from the US and EU. This video aimed at making money whilst SYRIANS suffer is WRONG!

50 years ago I traveled to Countries around the world creating documentaries so very similar to yours. The Title and the subject of those Documentaries was "People". I was very touched by your in depth capture of the People and their culture you encountered. It brought back such warm memories of my travels half a century ago. This particular location you traveled through reminded me so much of my visit to Beirut and Byblos in 1972 before the War rained down so much death and destruction on the Lebanese people. Thank you for sharing your life experience with me and others. You have such an advantage these days with Digital Photography. Back in the day, we traveled with no less than 32 cases of camera, lighting and sound gear. Your technique of showing and telling your story was wonderful. Please take that as my highest compliment. The experience brought a few tears to my eyes and reminded me, again, it will always be the "People" you encounter that will leave a life long memory that will touch your heart forever.

Syria was (and is?) the most wonderful and beautiful country in the Middle East with the most hospitable people imaginable. For example, I was invited to a wedding just because I was checking into the same hotel. My heart bleeds when I see images of insane destruction on television.

@@worldnomac When will you make a video about northwestern China's Xinjiang autonomous region, which contains a significant Uyghur Muslim population.
The Uyghur Muslim people are known for their vibrant music and ethnic dances for centuries and these occupy a significant place in Uyghur life.
You could make a really interesting movie
Just remember to ignore the concentration camps, the police surveillance etc.
China has detained more than one million Uyghurs against their will over the past few years in a large network of what the state calls "re-education camps"
Many countries, including the US, UK, Canada and the Netherlands, have accused China of committing genocide - defined by international convention, external as the "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".
The declarations follow reports that, as well as interning Uyghurs in camps, China has been forcibly mass sterilising Uyghur women to suppress the population, separating children from their families, and attempting to break the cultural traditions of the group.
You must make another sick disgusting video.

many more than one million. My family and relatives ,friends , tecahers, classmates , neighbours, acquaitnaces are in the 800 all have totally disappeared. Uyghur diaspora living in Turkey are in the 100000 , all had their family and friends disappeared. Mine has disappeared since March 27th , 2017. Thanks for speaking up youtube censor heavily on Tibettens and Uyghurs. Uyghurs are not all isalmic some are nestorian Christian , communist, Tengrist, Shaman and many only secular the media somehow label all uyghurs only as muslims . Majority of Uyghurs are very much into agriculture, humongous cutton and fruit tree plantation . In my hometown alone you would find 400 types of grapes and 100s types cantelopes and apricots , peaches, red dates, walnuts ect . Women work from young age and quite different from other muslim countries. Women and men wear Doppa on the head not Arabic hijab .

Absolutely educative! Thank you for showing the never shown perspective of Syria in many mainstream western media. We have more in common with peoples of the world but corporate media always want to emphasize us vs them. As a responsible citizen of the world, we have to start learning beyond what we've been told all the time.

I have visited Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Barhrain but when we were travelling on the highway between Beirut and Damascus in November 2005 it snowed heavily and we couldn't get through. I so miss the Middle East. My husband's father came from the Bakk valley in Lebanon whilst my husband was born in Kuwait but was brought up in Ramallah, Palestine. My son would tell me about his visits to Syria whilst he was a student at Durham (England) studying Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. As a widowed pensioner I envy those who are able to grow their intellect by being in places that the media misrepresent. If I could help to get anything off the ground in Syria please contact me.

Russia and America is what destroyed Syria. Assad the dictator would rather destroy the country than give up power. While proxy powers play games.

Excellent representation, bringing some old memories. I spent my youth in Aleppo and after watching your show I knew what I was missing, the lakes, the large castle, the Suk of Damascus and many other places. By the way , Aleppo has its own historic castle. Thank you.
