I can’t believe I’m in Damascus, Syria!! Today we’re going on an ultimate Syrian street food tour in Damascus - let’s see what types of amazing food we can try!

Al-Haytham Restaurant - As soon as I arrived in Damascus, Rami and I went straight to eat one of the ultimate of all meals - hummus and fateh, and this place is local and does it so well. Total price: 48,000 SYP ($3.20) for everything
Al-Burj Shawarma - Syria has some of the best shawarma that I’ve ever had anywhere in the world - and they do it in a unique way by dipping the bread in the juicy oils and touching it on the hot griddle to enhance the flavor. Price - Chicken 25,000 SYP ($1.66), Lamb 35,000 SYP ($$2.33)
To continue with this Syrian street food tour in Damascus, we continued with some old town street food including corn sliced and seasoning, an amazing old bakery that cooked a triangle of dough filled with muhammara!
Arbasheh Falafel - To continue this Syrian food tour we then had a falafel sandwich, and just like Syrian shawarma, they might make the best falafel in the world. I’ve never seen so many vegetables and toppings on any falafel - it’s truly amazing! Price - 10,000 SYP ($0.66)
Kibbeh - Kibbeh is one of the national foods of Syria, and this street stall specializes in bulgur stuffed with lamb, and grilled or boiled.
Al-Mahabba Restaurant - One of the ultimate Syrian meals you have to try is a mixture of stuffed intestines and organs, along with pickled. This restaurant was hilarious and delicious! Total price - 300,000 SYP ($20)
Alzwwaq Chicken - Just like shawarma and falafel, there’s nothing quite like Syrian roast chicken - it’s on another level! They roasted the chicken and then sliced it into a sandwich, with garlic sauce and pickles, and roasted the bread in the chicken fat juices - absolutely amazing - and something you have to try when you’re in Damascus, Syria! Price - 65,000 SYP ($4.33) for half chicken
We had an amazing and ultimate day eating Syrian street food in Damascus - seriously a food paradise!

As a Syrian who grew up abroad, the amount of joy this video gave me is immeasurable. Thank you so much for going to Syria and I'm so so glad you absolutely loved the food (I always say it's one of the best but I'm biased of course lol). I'm soo excited to see the rest of the series!!!

Of all the Arabs I worked with in Abu Dhabi... the Syrian people I've met have been incredibly welcoming and kind-hearted. As the only Filipino guy who loved to join the company of Syrians, they treated me as one of them and invited me to have some good Syrian food with Sisha on the side. I missed you Ahmad, Maher, Hassam, Hani, Mohannad, Bakri, Rami, Abdulkader, and Mohammed. Thank you for all the good memories.

I was just in Jordan, Lebanon & Syria. I agree with you - Syrians are the friendliest, most generous, & warmest people. A bread vendor handed me a freshly baked bread and said, “welcome to Syria!”. A woman offered me a bite of her newly bought bread and said, “ welcome to Syria!” I will cherish these experiences as long as I live🥰

Be careful not to fall into the trap of relying on Syrian regime propaganda. Please remember that the Syrian government killed children with chemical weapons. There are 60,000 actual photos of Syrians tortured to death by this regime. The destruction in Syria has been mostly carried out by the regime.
In 2013, the UN clearly requested that the president of Syria not use heavy weaponry in populated areas; this is documented. If regime forces claim that the destruction in certain places was caused by others, be cautious.
It would be great if you could comment on the human rights abuses in Syria...

Nearly 6 million Syrians cannot get enough food and are surviving off of World Food Programme (WFP) handouts. WFP estimates that 16.7 million Syrians - over half the Syrian population - are in the grip of hunger today.
It is clearly misinformation to show all the food, suggesting Syrians are OK, when WFP says Syrians are starving. Remove this video.

It all started with my parents honeymoon in 1986 and continued as a family tradition to spend the holiday there every year until 2010. Me too. I‘m born in Germany to Syrian parents but we used to visit every summer for several months during school holidays…. Now I haven’t been since I was 9 (when the war started). I still have dreams very often about visiting Syrian and sobbing uncontrollably in my dreams with heartache for my Syria. The longing is real.

The best Syrian shawarma you will find in Al Ain.. Saraya Halab Restaurant.. I tried it once upon my return from the Sultanate of Oman. It is much better than Dubai restaurants.@@elizabethreyes6211
I got emotional watching this vlog, lived there more than 6 years in Damascus and am so happy to see a famous vlogger going there to film and eat. Just to let you know, the people there are struggling soooo hard to (eat) their (traditional basic FOOD). Pray for them to get the life they deserve.

The food culture in Syria is very similar to the Egyptian culture. I am Egyptian, but I prefer Syrian food a little to Egyptian food, especially sweets and pastries.
I will definitely find a Syrian restaurant in Dubai and try the food once I come back. Have eaten Turkish, Lebanese, Egyptian, Iranian foods and love them all. Respect from Vietnam 🇻🇳

No, they only have the appetizers and mashawi not real meals! Morocco is still number one in the Arab world and number 3 worldwide! Syrian food just like lebanese jordanian and palestinian is better eaten at restaurants like falafel hummus fatteh mashawi

There is grape leaves, cabbage rolls, fattet hummus, shushbarak, tabouleh, fattoush, stuffed bell peppers, muhammara, makdouss, fassouliya, bamiya, shawarma. If you prefer Moroccan food, your opinion and choice. I like Moroccan, but I prefer Syrian. We all have our preference.

It is clearly misinformation to suggest Syrians are OK, and not starving when WFP says Syrians are starving. They are feeding over 5 million Syrians and the country received over a billion in foreign aid, just to survive each year, whilst your evil Dictator Assad continues to fight a 14 + year long civil war and has jailed 46,000 people without charge, 90% of them are women and children.
So excuse me for accusing this video of misinformation, if you really do manage a restaurant in Syria, whilst Syrians are starving you should be ashamed of yourself. The World Food Programme would like to know how you are obtaining your supplies to make all the tasty food Mark shows. Will you provide a better price to feed 16 million Syrians 3 meals a day?

Damaskus ist eine wunderschöne Stadt und eine alte Stadt sehr alte Stadt, es ist Ca 13,000 Jahre alt Es gibt einen Berg namens Qasioun. Dort ereignete sich der erste Mord in der Geschichte der Menschheit, Es gibt auch viele schöne und archäologische Orte dort, ich bin Syrer und ich lebe in Österreich seit 8 Jahren, Ich liebe Österreich wie ich Syrien liebe, Vielen Dank, dass ihr uns erlaubt habt, in eurem schönen Land zu leben ❤
Es ist so schade, was alles in Syrien zerstört wurde und auch Familien entzwei gerissen wurden.
