He did it because his uncle got his first two fingers on his right hand blown off with a grenade in WW2. It was a nod to him. His uncles kids all hold their smokes that way, too.
True, but John Wick is not the villain, he is the hero or an anti-hero and his antagonists also make those mistakes. Also in this film, a Punisher is shown as a policeman with training but who is still a mortal human, not a deus-machine.
Harry Heck was a throwaway character in the Marvel Knights run, and I wish he had gotten more screentime in this film as he was one of the most interesting characters in the movie. Hell, I'd even watch a Harry Heck movie where he performs various hits, and is only the hero because the other characters are SO much worse.
I always thought the consensus was that most people enjoyed the second punisher movie more but I still stand by thinking this movie is clearly the better of the 2
@Mark Twain ah makes sense. Thing I always liked about how he played the role was the way he really gave the feeling like he was getting his ass kicked and would still would find the way to fight through and overcome. The fight against the Russian is seemed like they were both dead from the war
Second movie is more like Punisher's Max comics and is more gore and dark and has Micro and Soup, who are loved comic characters, but this one is funnier and better as movie, this has better filmed action scenes and the narrative is better, this one is based in the "My lovely neighbours" comic saga, that is more for all public and with more humor, but without the Punisher's imitators secta that appears in the comic (that would be awesome for a secuel) There are different styles. I love the second one, but I also think this one is better movie
Yeah, they made a thing of it and it was barely used. But it did its job saving his life even if it did get written off a minute later. It's a realistic subversion of expectations for the audience.
These scene is really the best. Start from Harry, He is so Cult. Sing his song to his target. And his chase is done without Fancy quotes or movement. Just close the gap with vehicles, Disable target and perform a point-blank killing attempt. This killer not joking around, It's like he do it with style and efficiency. But even so, The Punisher's quite too hard to be taken down. This is what makes these scene awesome. Cold blood Killer's hardest target. Is the professional retired marines himself.
Yea, I always felt the same way. Like heck wasn't messing around, nor was this his first rodeo, and I always thought lore wise he was a much more efficient hitman than the Russian
I agree. Instead of making that comedy Punisher Warzone movie they could have had Thomas Jane return. I think they could do well havin Thomas Jane help with the script and more.
Good lord man, everytime I watch this movie all I can think about in this scene is how unbelievably sad it must’ve been to watch that poor, poor, GTO get totaled like that after all that work. 😓😓. Broken hearts are hard to mend.
There’s one time years ago when I was talking down the street in a Punisher jacket, and a man (who may have been homeless) walked up to me and started signing the song. I joined in and started singing it with him.
0:47 The continuity error with the cigarette is great. He puts his cigarette between his ring and pinkie fingers, then it appears back in his mouth and then back between his fingers without time to make the switch. Also the amount of cuts it took to do that was too fast and a little jarring, imo.
By far one of the best superhero films I have ever watched especially character where you can't help but constantly feel for him and what he's going to do next. Like the theme itself is inspiring. It makes you feel REALITY. It makes you feel for how justice isn't always there and sometimes you gotta take things into your hands. Such an underrated actor and movie as well. Like I honestly can't believe that at the time, this movie got so much undeserved hate. Like Thomas Jane played him perfectly, the emotion, the voice, EVERYTHING. Even the soundtrack itself, is amazing and even as I'm writing this I'm listening too it. 5/5. This has been a movie I've always wanted to watch since childhood since I've always seen clips of it, and loved it and I finally got the chance to watch it, like is it just me or are superhero movies from the 2000s always good and way better than the ones there are now. Like this movie relates to everything there is today, especially the justice system there is today and of course whats happened with pandemic and the war we have today where the justice system and governments simply don't listen too you. Like this just shows how amazing Stan Lee's creativity was to make superhero like these, not only that but the Punisher is the only superhero or anti hero you could say, that doesn't even have powers and still puts up a great fight and takes down everyone with just pure skill, talent, and everything he's got. Like if you look at most Marvel heroes and villains, they mostly have superpowers or something, but him, he was just a average person like us, who served, became elite, and had to take things into his own hands because of how the justice system doesn't always help you, or punish those. You gotta take things into your own hands. There's honestly so much to say about the film and I don't really want to spoil it since its just amazing. Like I'm speechless, and out of words to say because there's just so MUCH to say about it and how to describe it. You really gotta watch it for yourself to understand it, feel it, and everything.
You're not alone. The Punisher, The Dark Knight trilogy and the Spider-Man Raimi trilogy are my favourite superhero movies and they're all 2000s movies too (except for The Dark Knight Rises in 2012 but that's still a favourite).
And to think that the way this went down in the comic book was much shorter. Heck is sitting in his car on the phone, and Frank just walks up to the window and puts one in his head.

This movie is one of my favorites and this scene alone will always reign supreme.
Heck was one of the coolest characters I have ever seen NOT properly developed and definitely not enough screen time!
3:35 That sound tho when the GTO lands on the other side of the bridge. Brutal realistic impact.
Does anyone else get an 'El Mariachi' vibe from Harry Heck?
This scene alone modified the way I smoke my smokes
He did look cool......minus his nails being painted.
He's a killer, he don't give a fuck about what you think with his nails.
@@Luckiestof13; How do you know I'm not 😳
He did it because his uncle got his first two fingers on his right hand blown off with a grenade in WW2. It was a nod to him. His uncles kids all hold their smokes that way, too.
The oldest and more common mistake: The vilain talked instead of just finish him immediately...That' s why John Wick is always ahead...
True, but John Wick is not the villain, he is the hero or an anti-hero and his antagonists also make those mistakes.
Also in this film, a Punisher is shown as a policeman with training but who is still a mortal human, not a deus-machine.
@@CarlosHernandez-we1yr also a former Marine or Navy Seal.
As Tuco said in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. If you're going to shoot, shoot don't talk about it.
That’s why the original terminator is a classic. He doesn’t hesitate.
And not just shooting him at the diner.
RE4 Merchant : "Whoa stranger... Got some rare Strike gun from Harry's Heck, stranger!!
Heheheh whatya buying
Aaaaahhhh…I’ll buy it at a high price
Hehehe Thank you
I swear this movie was so heavily underrated. This scene is one of the most coldest and beast scenes in the movie
Maybe it's the sweaty comic book nerd in me but I love every rendition of the punisher even todays.
Dodged a bullet... not 30.
It's definitely one example of the movie being better than the comic.
I love how everyone just awkwardly acts like they didn’t just here a random dude sing a song outta nowhere like nothing happened
I swear... Johnny Cash was the inspiration for Harry Heck...
He’s definitely an inspiration for Mark Collie
Such a Tarantino- like scene, almost as he directed that scene. Very good, that hitman has some class.
Garbage
Tarantino would put in some lame ass bruned jokes would be hard to take serious
Not really. Not enough bare feet 🤣
2nd movie was more brutal, but Thomas Jane could have pulled it off, look at the short - ruclips.net/video/NAoBsIZ-M3A/видео.html
“First and second Punisher movie? What… am I a joke to you?” - Dolph Lundgren
There's three movies.
It always a kid running after a ball and not watching the road 😂
I wish Frank's car wasn't destroyed so quick I would've liked to see him use it and its shielding windows more
I agree. He’s lucky he had it in this scene
Yeah, they made a thing of it and it was barely used. But it did its job saving his life even if it did get written off a minute later. It's a realistic subversion of expectations for the audience.
Seeing several versions of the character on screen now but this remains the the best.
A marvelous classic scene, scripted and played beautifully.
I agree. Instead of making that comedy Punisher Warzone movie they could have had Thomas Jane return. I think they could do well havin Thomas Jane help with the script and more.
I love a impersonator who can actually sing with their own voice too.
This movie is legit pretty solid
Harry Heck was instantly one legendary assassin on the same level with the Anton Shiguor from the movie No Country For The Old Men, awesome
The Punisher was so badass
Tommy J! We love you out here, brother. Rest well, O.G.
Jokes on you Harry... He caught you monologuing.
I never knew johnny cash was a hitman
4:40 Well, that was some stabbing criticism....
Good lord man, everytime I watch this movie all I can think about in this scene is how unbelievably sad it must’ve been to watch that poor, poor, GTO get totaled like that after all that work. 😓😓. Broken hearts are hard to mend.
One of the reason Thome Jane’s Punisher great are his eyes..cold and sharp
There’s one time years ago when I was talking down the street in a Punisher jacket, and a man (who may have been homeless) walked up to me and started signing the song. I joined in and started singing it with him.
sweet!
Thomas Jane will and forever be the Punisher for me. Hes the man
Killer scene this cat looks like Johnny cash 🤘🏻 truly great scene
I love how he makes like a gta character and steals his car at the end
Given what some comic book movies have become this one actually aged decently well. For my money this was probably the coolest scene though.
0:47 The continuity error with the cigarette is great. He puts his cigarette between his ring and pinkie fingers, then it appears back in his mouth and then back between his fingers without time to make the switch. Also the amount of cuts it took to do that was too fast and a little jarring, imo.
An Awesome actor for an Awesome movie!!
This is still one of my fave movies of all time.
I love this movie too
Crazy how later this would be used for The Undertaker
I love how he puts the cigarette between his pinky and ring finger while he takes out the guitar.
Rebecca! Such a beautiful lady.
Jerry O’Connell
@Cat Lover so? He got game and got what he wanted.
Absolutely love this film, so underrated and I can’t understand why
EXTREMELY underrated movie
Who underrated it?
@@jimmyreece5781 It's not praised like a superhero classic like the Raimi Spider-Man movies. It also didn't make as much money as it should have.
Anyone else notice that when Harry's singing, he doesn't break eye contact or even blink. Like he's staring right at Frank' soul.
All the punishers are great. But Thomas Jane is the best for me, word up! 👍👍
If Johnny Cash was a Hitman his name would be Harry Heck
Harry Heck and John Pilgrim are literally the best rivals for Frank Castle.
Little known fact: Harry Heck was a huge Harry Potter fan... as seen in the font selection on his guitar case
And to think that the way this went down in the comic book was much shorter. Heck is sitting in his car on the phone, and Frank just walks up to the window and puts one in his head.
I loved that ballad! I bought the CD after hearing this.
One of the most underrated scenes in marvel history lol
They don’t make comic book movies like this anymore. It’s got style.
When my man grabs his throat, the way it’s edited in quick-cut fashion I died. Who’s dumb now? 🤣😂😂😂😂
To me The Punisher will always be Thomas Zane. This movie was amazingly good.
Wow, that Dart Super Stock is sick
He got a damn good voice
Beautiful Roadrunner.
Me: Mom, can we get Johnny Cash?
Mom: We have Johnny Cash at home.
Johnny Cash at home:
