The tooth and sensory one is so real. I hate how advice for many sensory things is 1) directed towards parents for their children and 2) ignores anypossibility that the behavior is from a genuine issue, not disobedience. That attitude is so damaging and is the reason that many kids suffer so much. They are human beings and only the person having the experience knows what it feels like. So many things I was threatened into doing in terror as a kid were things I was avoiding not because I was a little shit but because there was some unbearable sensory issue associated with it (I'm autistic but my parents didn't know that when I was a kid, even though I showed very obvious symptoms). Like why did nobody wonder what was making me hide under a table at pre school everyday? If they had asked why I would've said the other kids were painfully loud. I was suffering from the volume and headphones or even ear plugs would've made it so much better. Kids should be listened to a little better. If they aren't brushing their teeth, ask what about brushing teeth isn't nice. Maybe they'll just say it's boring and the dancing thing will work, but maybe they'll say it feels like they're scratching their nails on a chalk board and you can look for alternatives to brushes.

14:49, can confirm that (at least for me) cloth can work for cleaning your teeth if you have sensory issues or don't have the energy, both being issues I struggle with (depression and autism aren't fun together). When you do it, start at the gumline and work downwards and away from the gums so you don't push stuff into them. Also, change the cloth portion you are using often so it cleans better.
My favorite money saving hack is using stuff until the last drop, I mean until your peanut butter jar is clean, until the marker doesn't color anymore, and when your toothpaste bottle breaks :}

warning for dentist/teeth stuff i have a dentist appointment tomorrow and im so fucked :) usually im so great at brushing my teeth and i oly rlly have the clean-ups and ive never had teeth problems ever. but last week the adhd got the best of me and i didnt brush my teeth often, even skipping entire days (which i never do. i always brush my teeth at least once a day) but then my gums started hurting for days and then on like saturday i finally decide to brush my teeth good and its bleeding, and now whenever i brush my teeth it bleeds a bit, and yesterday i lost the ability to taste sugar and salt!!! which is uh, not good!!! and when i searched it up on google (i know google is not a doctor shut up) it kept saying that it could be due to "dental issues". I don’t think my friend understands how special interests/hyperfixations work. alright so i’m speaking entirely from personal experience because i did artfight last year but the story i did related to my characters was still incredibly unfinished. i didn’t think of any character summaries or descriptions in time but i did get reference sheets down and during the actual event i surprisingly got one attack drawing for each of them! so with this in mind, along with the fact that july is quickly approaching in just a few short weeks, my advice would be this: think of designs first so you have something to submit, and think of the rest later. they don’t even have to be fully fledged characters yet, just a design that works for you, and perhaps a placeholder name to apply to them!

He is also disabled.

Use a cloth or tissues to cover the handle so wet and sticky feelings don’t get on your hand. 2. Using brushes with larger bristles that with fracture off less. 3. Natural toothpastes (Dr Squatch has some, for day and night, and I personally have not used them but heard it helps some.) 4. Mouthwash that is not alcohol based, or a different flavour then mint. (Can be hard to find dye free ones tho) Hope this helps someone.

a word of advice: make sure you look over your mark scheme/ answers to past questions, even if just quickly- so you know what the exam ppl want you to write- as i've heard they can be quite specific on language exams (it's what i've heard for my exams anyways)

I don’t think my friend understands how special interests/hyperfixations work. He keeps telling me to listen to other people and try engaging with them and that it sounds self centered when I try to “make everything about my interest”, but sometimes I can’t help but feel like if nobody listens to me then why should I listen to them. This is set in an alternate world where everything was cool and futuristic in the year 2000 ALSO the name T'lai is kinda a work in progress.
January 18th, 2000.
When T'lai was seven years old, they had a dream. A nightmare. A horrible, memorable, impossible to describe nightmare. Yet describe it is all they've ever wanted to do. And so, for the last nine years of their life, they have done everything in their power to do so. Writing, music, drawing, speaking, screaming into the rain wishing it would finally scream back. But nothing came of it. Not a single person can decipher what T'lai knows is fact.

I just learned art fight is a thing and I want to do it but I don't really have any OC's, so I'm planning to make some characters before July starts. I can always change them later if I come up with a story they fit in. Any ideas or tips?
alright so i’m speaking entirely from personal experience because i did artfight last year but the story i did related to my characters was still incredibly unfinished. i didn’t think of any character summaries or descriptions in time but i did get reference sheets down and during the actual event i surprisingly got one attack drawing for each of them!
so with this in mind, along with the fact that july is quickly approaching in just a few short weeks, my advice would be this: think of designs first so you have something to submit, and think of the rest later. they don’t even have to be fully fledged characters yet, just a design that works for you, and perhaps a placeholder name to apply to them!

5:40 Ableism in education is sooooooo pervasive. I’m glad my hearing aids are kinda hidden. Tho I do need to use the app on my iPad to change directional use. So far hasn’t been a major issue, only had it a semester, and one teacher had vision issues and asked me about the iPad, and I just showed it was for them and he was fine with it as long as I kept the brightness down or covered. He is also disabled.

14:10 Personally I never had major issues to a point of not doing it, but things I do/have heard of:
1. Use a cloth or tissues to cover the handle so wet and sticky feelings don’t get on your hand.
2. Using brushes with larger bristles that with fracture off less.
3. Natural toothpastes (Dr Squatch has some, for day and night, and I personally have not used them but heard it helps some.)
4. Mouthwash that is not alcohol based, or a different flavour then mint. (Can be hard to find dye free ones tho)
