    I tend to identify as a "car guy" or "petrolhead" as you may deem. But being in the U.S. I appreciate seeing these fun, funky, quirky automobiles that are brought out on the VisioRacer channel. Many of these are ones of pure myth and legend for me. This keeps me coming back to this channel. Keep up the good work. I, and many others, appreciate your productions.

      poops! The 1.3 was a 4 cylinder. The three was 900 cc. it wasn't quick, but it ran forever since it was originally designed as a diesel and converted to gas so the crankshaft looked like it came out of a big block.

    I had an Auto-Union 1000SP, with a 1000 cc 2-stroke 3-cylinder engine. I rebuilt the ball bearing crankshaft, tuned and polished the ports, made a new intake manifold for a triple carburetor set from a Saab Monte Carlo and added 3 separate tuned expansion exhausts with stingers, It revved easily close to 10000 rpm, and since the car was very light, only around 1700 lbs, it ran (and sounded) like a banshee. I left several Porsches in the dust on the freeway. They never knew what outran them....

    I think that three cylinder engines are awesome! They used to be unique in the past and only appeared in small cars form japan or as two-stroke engines (Wartburg, Saab) Nowadays, they are becoming increasingly popular and also with turbo. They sound (stationary) a bit rough and cracking sometimes al little. Unfortunately, there are also the new three cylinders that sound like a vacuum cleaner (like the BMW i8). But, it is a great engine with a great sound!😉🖒

      many new 3 cylinders appears during the last years like the 1.0L Ford Ecoboost (125-140hp), the 1.2L Puretech from PSA (Peugeot/Citroën, 82, 110 and 130hp) and the 1.2L from Renault/Smart 90, 100hp... all are supercharged by turbocompressor (exept the 82hp PSA).

Kei-cars and Small japanese hoonmobiles are a long time favourite for me... since the Day a buddy of mine turned up in a gtti pushed to 150 hp or so. Straight-piped and heavy turbo Sound. Loved it. Hey man :)
    So i've been watching your videos for i think about two years now. My first one was the first ever video you made i think, because i went to your channel and you had nothing on. Cars that exist thanks to motorsport i think it was. I have to say, I've actually watched every single video you've put out since then. It's been amaizing to see you progress in your editing and narrating, and also that you still keep your passion for making these kinds of videos. I love your work, i love cars and i think, for my taste, you have the best informative videos in this section. I've learned quite a few new things thanks to you, so please man, keep on doing what you do, and keep this passion train rolling. I'm always happy to see a new one come out :D
    Best regards, with engineering love

    VisioCars, thanks for the video work, you're straight to the point, easy on the ears, an excellent narrators, and you've introduced me to a few new favorite engines.
    In this video I think the Melkus RS1000 and Saab 96 my favorite inline 3 bangers.
    I think they could use a few adjustments, like Schnürle porting, air-assisted direct fuel injection, plasma ignition, multifuel engine design, sequential turbocharging, rotary valve to control intake and transfer ports, compound turbocharger to replace the bigger single turbo in a sequential turbo setup, etc.. to revive them and allow them to pass emissions standards

    This Channel is the living example of "don't judge a book by its cover". I'd always skip to watch any of Visio Racer videos by it's logo, the "fast & furious" intro and the rap/hip-hop music of the intro... but the content is too far away for being "da' hood" style I don't like. The videos contents a lot of data, info and nice and great visuals that keeps you hanged and asking for more; and shows great cars that even "da hood style" doesn't know, in fact, nothing of your videos has this "fast & furious" style, only pure, classic, rare, elegant and original rides!. CONGRATULATIOS VISIO RACER!!! for give me a huge punch in my prejudice, show me great and fun content, and shows class and great info! Greetings from Venezuela!

    • @TheKikosak
      @TheKikosak 7 лет назад +1

      Probably burning fuel in the exhaust or vacuum created in the cylinder. There are many things that give 2strokes their characteristic sound.

    • @АндрейШкира-о5м
      @АндрейШкира-о5м 7 лет назад +1

      1) Lesser expansion ratio - exhaust starts at slightly higher pressure - sounds rougher.
      2) They're usualy fed with carburators, which tend to produce less stable mixture - this causes variation of stroke pitch.
      3) A bit of unburnt fuel mixture is always thrown out from exhaust ports at the beginning of compression stroke. Those fuel ignites chaotically in muffler - causes a kind of shots on idle when flow is not fast enough to throw it away.
      4) If damn moscowian maniacs blowed reactor in attempt to extinguish your nation, you wouldn't have joked that way! (not sure whether i built sentence right).

    I would like to suggest you another interesting 3-cylinder car: Innocenti Mini Turbo De Tomaso. Built in the '80s, It has the same engine as the Daihatsu Charade (1.0l turbo), but it weighted much less because It was much smaller, like the original Mini, produced in Italy by Innocenti. It also got the style from Marcello Gandini (the same man who designed the Lamborghini Miura) and the factory was controller by De Tomaso (famous for having sold the glorious Pantera).

    SAAB Sonett II. Fiberglas body, two-seat layout, it was the Swedish Corvette! The name SONETT came from the exclamation when the styling buck for the original version was unveiled: "Sa net den ar! (That is so neat!)" The 841 cc two-stroke three cylinder also powered the 96, and both were successful in rally competition, as was the DKW 3=6 and its successor models.

    If Detroit Diesel actually developed smaller displacement Diesels for production cars, we might have got to see a 2 cycle Diesel do the claimed "2 cycle 3 cylinder=4 cycle 6 cylinder". Not only more reliable and wouldn't require oil mixing, it would've sounded racey AF too!

      I've heard of the 4-53 and everything larger, someone made a video a while back listing all the sizes of the Detroit 2 cycle diesels produced. Apparently they missed one. Now, will it fit in the engine bay of a 3rd gen F body? lol

    • @jarrynsmith
      @jarrynsmith 7 лет назад +2

      Midnight Mechanic (most are stationary engines (there is more with 2 cylinders)) the main thing its the alloy version weights about 800 pounds. But they look smaller the a 350 chev just.

    • @MidnightMechanic
      @MidnightMechanic 7 лет назад

      Aw crap, it's a tall block since it's an inline, and the V engines are WAY too big. The Olds 350 is about one of the few Diesels that'll bolt right into any Chevy production car that's not too heavy for the suspension of the time, Detroit Diesel did make 6.2 and 6.5L engines, but again too heavy and deck is too high to fit under a stock hood.

    • @jarrynsmith
      @jarrynsmith 7 лет назад +1

      Midnight Mechanic might sound silly but a dry sump and new manifold would make it be about as high as fully dressed ls
