You have the question of - how to transfer domain name? And I have the answers. Let’s not waste time and get into the meat of the problem…
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Transfer a Domain - What to know before?
In this domain transfer tutorial let’s look at moving domains in general, and then I’ll show you an example. Oh, and I’ll be using Hostinger as my go-to hosting provider, so if you still haven't got a Hostinger plan, use the discount below to get the biggest deal.
Some things you should know before transferring:
Unlocking domain name - some registrars and domain providers offer a feature to lock your domain so that no transfer can be done. This is mostly done for security reasons.
Getting the transfer code from the registrar - for security reasons and to make sure you’re actually the one doing the transfer, the original registrar sends you a code. Think of it as two-factor authentication for your domain.
Eligible for the transfer - Biggest hurdle for transfer might actually be the age of your domain. By ICANN, the governing body for domain names, and rules, your domain name has to be with the current provider for at least 60 days or basically 2 months. Sadly there's basically nothing you can do to negate this.
Good Contact Information - Look, one thing that I always try to reiterate when talking about domain name registration - make sure you register with your actual information and try to keep it updated. While not always, having old personable information can cause delays or problems in the transfer process.
Oh, and the last one, and this is more of an obvious point, your Domain name should not expire during the transfer process. It can take a few days for all the information to reach the right places, so plan ahead.
    How to Transfer a Domain
So the general steps for how to transfer domain name to new host or registrar should be these:
Go to your original domain provider and make sure the domain is unlocked. In the same cases, you might need to contact support for this.
Go to your new provider and indicate transfer.
Some providers can transfer domain for free, but most will ask you for a single payment, so pay any fees you need.
Enter the authorization code that you get, usually by email, from the original domain provider.
Double-check that your name servers are correct. If you're fully transferring a domain somewhere, you can usually automatically update DNS to the current provider's setup.
Give time… no really, domain information always needs time to "spread" through the web. So have a cup of tea and chill...

    The conclusion
That’s it. As I said before, transferring a domain name isn’t as difficult as it may seem at first, but there are some points where anyone can get stuck. Well, I hope I helped you to transfer and understand domains a bit better today…

Thank you, I have a question though: What do happen with the emails that have been used with the domain and previous hosting? Is there any problem with it?

Does the process you describe just give Hostinger the right to use the old domain name, or does it actually transfer the full website and all files to Hostinger? I want the first option as I wish to rebuild my site and use the same name for a new Hostinger site.

If you already bought the domain, why do you still need to pay an annual fee?
How is a domain actually stored or owned then? Can you do a video about it if you haven't already?

This covers what is obvious but the problems people have questions about:
If I set that domain to direct to a site will it still redirect during the transfer.
Will the emails on that domain still work during the transfer.
Problems can arise, eg. I had to get the old host to change its tags and they dragged their feet on purpose.
