I understand how to copy and backup the website files. But, somewhere I am missing a step in backing up the emails. My emails with Nexcess are with Roundcube - how do I export those mailboxes to my desktop? I right clicked and nothing happens...

I just switched to hostinger on cyber monday. My reason was the same as yours: No love to current customers at renewal. My old host used to give discounts for the three ear plan, but they changed it this year. I cannot in good conscious, just give away money.

This video is exactly what I need! I need to transfer my website from a storefront I don't own (similar to teespring) but I do own the domain. I lost my login tho so I have to go thru them. My question was can I transfer the content and shopping cart data or do I have to rebuild from scratch? Now I want to know what does clientTransferProhibited mean.
How do you access wp-admin of the site no the News hosting when the DNS of the domain are still pointing to old server?
Question for Ferdy and the community. Moved a website between servers,. Client had large amount of old mail. Created a new account on the new cPanel, moved the range of emails manually into the cur folder and everything looks good from an INBOX standpoint. My issue is when I connect to the mail client (in this case Mac Mail) the sent folder didn't populate. Is there a file/record from the old server I'm missing? Any help would be outstanding. Thx

Question: Isn't it usually advised for a business (who has clients) to keep domain registration separate from the hosting in case of security/hacking issues, account lockout by the Hosting company, etc. Just wondered what your thoughts are on this?

Can you help I am with godaddy. But they charge a good £400 plus for the year! My site is four years old how can I attend to ensuring there is no problem should I have backlogs or redirects etc I don’t know what to look for.

That page can’t be found."...Is there any solution in that? Or i just have to wait more?

I tried this method using outlook for Mac and I could not move files from one account to another. Am I missing something?. I could not find Mac mail anywhere.
Thanks for this tutorial, however after migrating to Hostinger I see he following text every time I switch to a page in the site's dashboard: "This is a preview of a website by a customer of Hostinger". I have to delete every time this text. How can I solve this issue?

Will changing my hosting provider change my Google ranking?
I really find the guide for how to transfer domain very valuable! I was looking for a way to transfer my domain from Hostinger to cargo. Unfortunately, cargo is not supporting a transfer of domain. Any suggestions to how I should go about this? Perhaps delete my domain on Hostinger and then wait until it becomes available so I can use it on cargo?

Is there a size limit of files on these plugins ? normally huge websites more then 2 gb not able to do with plugins

I got two problems i really need your help to fix them, So the first one is when i try to download the backup files with wpvivid it always reach for like 60-70% for the actual size of the file and then says that the download is complete but when u check u see like a big amount of mb didn't even got downloaded, And the second problem is that i have my domain linked with my old hostinger account and when i try to use it as an existing domain in my new hostinger account it says that it already linked with hostinger and don't know how unlinked it from the first one without deactivating the whole account.
Please someone help with this two problems!

There is an option to migrate directly/automatically from Hostinger.. what would be the difference? Would you recommend migrating manually instead of using this Hostinguer option?

Yes, it is. For people that have their own domain and webhosting and want to transfer it to another domain and webhosting provider.
I want to backup my website to save it for a future date and not migrate in simultaneously. After I backup while I'm with my current hosting provider & save the files. My plan is to cancel my subscription with the hosting provider as the renewal is due in a couple of weeks but I need time before going with a new hosting company. Will I be able to get a complete restore in the future from the files I saved as I will have canceled the hosting. I appreciate any support & I'm eager to sort before the renewal date. I don't know what I am doing wrongly but my website link opens a "Just another wordpress site" sample page. But then on another device I might luckily open the correct website. But most of the time, another web page that I don't know off opens

I have no experience with Automattic hosting. If you are happy with them, stay there. Hostinger is a great webhosting provider.

Great video, as usual Unfortunately in my case the backup import has totally failed... After 12 hours waiting for it to be done, or says that there is a critical error. The site is online, but I can't edit it as wordpress won't login due to critical error. However, for some strange reason, I can edit it on my Android phone... Do you know what I should do?

Hi Ferdy, op deze video was ik aan het wachten. Maar toch een vraagje. Ik maak (voor vrienden) een website onder een subdomein van mijn eigen domeinnaam. De site is nu klaar en wil ik de site migreren naar de domeinnaam van mijn vrienden. Kan ik die migreren zoals in de video of moeten er parameters aangepast worden. Het is trouwens een totaal andere domeinnaam. We zijn wel beiden bij dezelfde provider. Alvast bedankt voor een antwoordje.

I tried to make the switch but could not manage to migrate my 5 websites. I asked for a partial refund and they tell me no it's been longer than 30 days. That's how long I have been fooling with this hosting site. I am so aggravated. They didn't help me much at all to try to make it work.

Me and my team made an app and website.. but we want to add some functionality to attract the public and help the public make money at the same time and of course make our project and company money at the same time.. what we want to offer is a watch to earn aspect maybe even a do a survey aspect. @@ferdykorpershoek Hi, I had to manually backup files, upload it and unpack. Than I had to manually backup database also, create database, create user and import database. Than changing wp config according to new website and also one table in database regarding old website change as upon login would go back to old website. This was not a big deal if I would have to do it again, but first time is a bit daunting task.
