Hey, Emit! I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for your tutorial and your review on the best web hosting options for 2021. I have successfully moved from one host to another host, thanks to the help in this video (I used the all-in-one plugin method!). Stay well and keep pumping out great content! As a new RUclipsr, looking at the content you create makes me appreciate this content creation as an art form! Your editing is ON POINT!😎

Great, fast-paced video. Here are 4 open questions I have that hardly any migration tutorial talks about: 1) How about moving the email files (when the hosting package one initially bought was domain name + web hosting + email hosting), lets say all under the old domain name (just moving to a new host) 2) How about moving things like additional DNS records (CNAMEs, TXT records) that one installed over the years, e.g. to authenticate SMTP providers to send mails on behalf of your domain 3) How about other databases and files that reside out of the WP database/wordpress directory - e.g. ecommerce module that has a folder in the root of the domain, next to the wordpress files and that has also its own tables in the 4) How to deal with ecommerce transaction that still "hit" the website on the old host after you took a copy but before you moved to the new host. How long does it take for nameserver to update? - what to do with transactions that still got processed on the hold database during the DNS updating period? Any suggestions, pointers to and of these questionsß
Thank you sir! The manual way worked PERFECTLY. I'd actually recommend the manual way as you won't have to worry about any plugins failing on you. Sounds way harder than it is!
Just planning to transfer my domain to a new hosting provider and landed on your video. Very well explained. Will definitely try your method. Thanks mate :)
Can you easily find out how big your website is, before choosing the type of switch you will use to migrate from one host to another? Thanks for your time and expertise
Great tutorial I was trying to migrate my website using a plugin but didn't work because the website was too big, I followed all the steps and worked, Thank you very much for your help :)
Now I'm clear that we have 2 methods for migration. I was confused that some RUclipsrs use plugins to migrate while others do it manually. We can do this manually whether the website's size is more than 500MB or not. Excellent tutorial but I have a suggestion please slow down a bit it may mess up things for those who don't know much about WordPress

Awesome tutorial, arguably the best out there. Perfect for what I needed to do. Moving my site from laragon stagging to my new hosting company. Although I am facing a lil setback with some images not loading.Keep creating these valuable videos. Earned a subscriber!!
Pro tip for big website. If you are using Hostinger, simply download the .wpress file first using the plugin, then request website migration from support.
Great - 1st method is easy and workable. One thing to know which is very important i.e. do I need to transfer domain name first or website file? Because on new host provider it might be mandatory which comes first to them!!!! Please assist. Regards
There's absolutely no difference in what you transfer first. I usually transfer my website files then the domain to have a little bit less downtime on my website.
You don't need to change the name of the database, because if you followed the steps as I've done in the video the wp-config should already be created with the new names. But you do need to change the PREFIX to the old one from the new one. Let me explain why this happens. 1. You create a "blank" website it autocreates a database and config file. It links everything together. 2. You enter inside the database and delete all of the information there, then change it with the old info. (Since you're only changing the CONTENT of the database, not importing it from scratch you don't need to change the database name in config) 3. However, the database PREFIX won't match now and it's part of the content so the only thing you need to update is the config. If you follow the steps in the video exactly it should work no problems :) It's kinda hard to explain this via text.
I'm trying to save peoples time :D I personally hate slow reviews, so I try to make mine faster. Because I know people can rewind the video to watch certain parts a couple of time if it was unclear.
@@Emit.Reviews The tutorial was good for me ...not so to the people around me. Just an observation if you can slow the pace down by just 0.25 will be great. The video was informative and good. Just the speed of it. Have a Good one ahead
My website is extremely slow at hostgator I want to transfer to Hostinger but do I need to migrate all my website or would it become faster by just transferring the old domain to hostinger? Please help I’m a bit confuse
You need to transfer the whole website. But before that make sure you're actually optimizing your website and content. Hostgator isn't a particularly fast hosting company but it can be optimized for an okay result. Don't spend more money before trying to solve your problem, do the research, see what helps. If at the end the speed still doesn't satisfy you then yes - switch providers or upgrade your plan. How to speed up your website video - ruclips.net/video/hODPuMvxZzI/видео.html Good luck!
Thanks Emit! I'm a little confused about something: When you log in to the newly installed WordPress, do you create a new login or use your old WordPress login? If it's the same login, can you use this to edit several different domains with the same WordPress login? Thanks
When you create a new instance you'll need to create login information (it can be the same as your old site, but you still need to create it) The way these WordPress logins are handled is "per instance". So, 2 multiple sites can have the exact same login info. Every website has its own WordPress instance installed, so while the login information can be the same. You'll see info in regards to that specific site when you log in. Hope this clears it up a bit.
@@Emit.Reviews Yes, I think I'm there! I will use the same email and password for all Wordpress I use on different sites, and it won't conflict in any way :) Thanks Emit
Hi, emit thanks for your video. Can you confirm does All in 1WP really allows to import up to 2GB file size? Because it shows 2GB now instead of 65mb. Thanks
They keep changing the "limit" but it has nothing to do with the plugin. Its just a PHP file transfer setting (you can even change it yourself at any time). So it should work no problem
So a question, if you have sub domains, is it the same process? what about email set up and passwords? set up a new subdomain and recreate everything? then upload site files and connect to database?
How long does it take to realize that you haven't migrated your email accounts? What do you do if you realize it after the original hosting service closes your account? It didn't happen to me but very few migration tutorials ever mention email.
I have migrated from dreamhost to bluehost while keeping domain same from dreamhost only using your steps. After i changed my DNS named servers in dreamhost i started getting SSL certificate warning and if i click proceed i am getting 404. I am getting same problem on wordpress admin as well kindly help it URGENT my site is down :(
I have one question for you can I use total commander to upload and extract zipped WP content? instead off file manager on my hosting I mean web ftp? With Best wishes, Jan
Is this basicly what you're doing if you're handing a website to a client? They make an account to a host provider, install wordpress there and import the webpage that I've created? But what if I use things like elementor pro and client doesn't have that?
I usually have them buy a web hosting account that they give me access to it. And I immediately build a site on that account (no need to transfer) Or I host it on my VPS and I charge the client a monthly fee for hosting & administrating ( since theyll still need some updates/ fixes / etc). But in your specific case, you can transfer the site. Then point your domain DNS to the new server IP. If you used a personal elementor pro account itll keep the existing functionality. But if you need to change something using it again. Youll need to deactivate your licence and activate it on that account. But be careful this is a "workaround" and elementor caught on they started limiting the amount of times you can switch which website the plan is connected to
@@Emit.Reviews Thank you very much for your answer. I'm trying to get into this all web designing business but havent found the information on what choices you have with handing over websites. Can you clarify what you mean by pointing my domain DNS to new server IP? Can't I just use my local wordpress, make clients web pages offline and once completed I just transfer it to their host?
Oh yeah you 100% can. I assumed you create the sites on your own test hosting. But keep in mind that you'll (well you're clients) need a domain name for it to work outside of your local host. Like websitename.com. So, its a seperate purchase and if you would go to that domain name settings there's an option to "link" it to a specific server. So, it displays files from that server. This is called pointing an A record via your DNS.
Hey, Emit! excellent guide. Always find your videos helpful. Keep rocking. I have a doubt (more of a dumb question maybe). The thing is, I have created a few domain emails using my current web hosting's cPanel. If I migrate my website to a new web host, what happens to those domain emails?
Hey man, not a dumb question at all. Once the migration is over I recommend deleting your emails at the old host and re-creating them at the new host. Since you'll be using different Ip address and MX address to send the emails now.
Someone may face a download limit issue, If your download file is heavy simply go to the online file manager and download the backup file from there, it will work flawlessly
Hi my hosting paln is almost finished at name cheap and I don't want to renew the paln it is possible to choose another plan With same provider namecheap
Is there a way I can migrate my website to another hosting provider using the same website name and domain only with WP, without name servers because the previous guy that works for the company I am going to now doesn't want to give us access to the old web hosting provider. So I am stuck with only WP login info and we want to keep the same name.
That's probably a limitation of the control panel your host is using. You can bypass that by using a program like FIlezilla to connect to your FTP account directly and upload the files that way.
@@Emit.Reviews then uploading using FileZilla would be a third way of doing it, and if you are kind, maybe a video tutorial would be helpful for those not familiar on how to use the ftp method. Thanks 🙏 for your help and tutorials.
Does this only work for WordPress websites? I have an existing website that's not a WordPress site that I want to migrate back into a WordPress site how do I do this?
I have one question I don`t have put an old name of the database and user and Server because I import old database with old information so that is not need to override the name of the debase in the wp config file?
You still need to do that if you use my method. Because the way I do it is I create a new blank website automatically. So the system creates all of the necessary folders and files. And then I just put the old files into the new containers. But the config file still looks for the "new" names so you have to change that.
I'm confused. Does switching the DNS from old host to new host automatically transfer the WordPress files over? I felt like there was definitely a step missed here? I thought the purpose of this video was to show how to switch an existing website to a new host with the same domain name.
Switching the DNS does nothing in terms of file transfer. It only redirects the IP address from your old server to the new (which should already have the files transfered to them via the plugin). There were no steps skipped, If you're transferring to a new host with the same name, all of the steps apply the same way. Think of it like this. 1. You download files from your server 2. You upload the files to a new server 3. You switch your domain nameservers so it would display files from the new server instead of the old.
UPDATE: All in 1 Migration plugin now doesn't have the basic plan (they increased the limit by default). But if you need an even BIGGER limit, you don't need the paid plan. Just navigate to your website files via FTP or (File Manager). Find the .htaccess file and add this line at the very bottom.
php_value upload_max_filesize 2048M
php_value post_max_size 2048M
php_value memory_limit 512M
php_value max_execution_time 300
php_value max_input_time 300
This will increase your limits, good luck with your website transfers!

You can transfer your elementor accounts anytime u want. Just change the domain you're using their service on within the settings on their website
1. You download files from your server
2. You upload the files to a new server
3. You switch your domain nameservers so it would display files from the new server instead of the old.
When I extract the file I only have a .wpress in my file manager, but no folders, what am I doing wrong?
The .wpress file is generated by allin1migration you need to use the plugin (import function) if you want to extract these files
