Quick cPanel To cPanel Site Transfer Using FTP : "Including Tips"

- This video shows how we can migrate entire cPanel files from one server to another server without downloading a backup files.
We use cPanel to cPanel transfer using FTP for sending complete cPanel backup from old server to new server.
Please follow the below steps to migrate full data from one server to another server:
step 1. Login into cPanel click on ftp account and create ftp account on New server.
step 2. Fill all necessary details (Make sure to note-down all details about ftp account for future ) & click on create FTP account.
step 3. Note-down imp detail to configure ftp clients server name, port number, username, password .
step 4. Then go old server and take backup of your old server by clicking on Backup Wizard. Then Go to Full backup option and choose the backup destination as "Remote FTP Server"
step 5. Then you have to fill up the credentials like new server IP , new cPanel username and password , port-21 and remote destination field empty or the directory you want to move the backup.
step 6. Once the backup process completed the old server automatically transfer your data to new server.
Important tips while migrate/transfer your data from one server to another server:
1.If your storage less than 1 GB the process will take 15 min.
2.If your storage more than 2 GB the process will take 25 min.
so this data migration from from cPanel to cPanel take time depend on your storage.
we do not allow free restoration more than 5GB data storage, because of server resources. it will increase load on to your server.

yes can be possible video already explain same thing. But if you are doing as mass scale then you might need to contact your administrator.
Am getting the following error, while generating the backup
Error: The system failed to create or deliver the requested backup.
The system failed to transport the backups via FTP due to an error: Failed to upload a test file using FTP because of an error: Could not open data connection to port 33864: Connection refused . at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/API/Backup.pm line 130.
In your case, you should take the help from your server administrator. If you DomainRacer customer, please create support ticket. So team will assist you on this. Because this need to check server side parameters.

Okey if you are using multiple website on single cPanel then you can do that very easily by contacting your server admin. And also if you have wordpress then it can be done with plugins as well.

Is there another place to find the server name? This method does not seem to work for me but it is unclear if it due to the server name.
if you are changing server, then you need to update new server details i.e. nameserver.
I didn't get it. You just backed up to another server but where is the migration?
Yes you are absolutely right, we have shared you simplest method to move huge data or website to another server. and you can ask your server admin to restore. This is simple process, because in our experience users are facing lot of issue in this process. Sometime user even don't have idea about backup of data or you can say, they took almost 2 days to just backup and upload to another server.
Then they need web hosting company help. to minimize the effort and traditional move method, we shared this guide.

not required once your start ftp backup process. don't forgot to enter mail id for notification. so you will get mail once done.

Does the email accounts transfer aswell
Yes this can do transfer mails too. but carefully need to do. If you have cpanel old and new then ask your hosting provider to do that. We as DomainRacer do for our customer to avoid data loses.
can i use ip instead of server name
yes, it will be possible to use IP address of server.
