Yes it’s fine to do that. Just means your backline isn’t as aggressive.
If you struggle to win the 2nd ball then adjust
Mentality up first. If that fails adjust

is there a way to copy the opposition instructions from my main team to my b/u19s without doing the whole thing manually?
For midblock, having trigger press on the entire backline including GK and DC, would that be more exclusive to high block setup? For midblock the idea would be to only press hard when the ball nears the halfway line. Should I turn off trigger on some of the backline? or adopt the lowblock OI setup instead?
I wouldnt trigger press the keeper fullbacks and defenders allowing them to bring the ball forward then hit the midfield
On my Palermo livestream our mid block 442 assured as the title. We switched to it with 8 games left and used two banks of 4 for structure and we used OIs as well. It’s the latest livestream done on the 15th of Nov
Why press the backline in a mid block?... should it not be somewhere between the two??? 3 different approaches... low block mid block high press options ???
I really struggle with OIs never use them when I have seems to make tactic worse. It's hard in game to identify problems but feel with OIs almost impossible to tell if it is/isn't working and why

Can you give more context to the trigger press slider and how to use it in which circumstances?
Trigger press slider works in conjunction with DL and LOE. These two set the zone the narrower the zone the greater the overlap of zonal marking between players. So when you increase pressing slider more players press the same opp player together.

If you don’t change the opposition instructions before the game to positions do they still work?
Positions stay from game to fame. The player specific ones need to be done for every game

This is a good video explaining how to use Opposition Instructions, but I don't understand what you mean with that they are "better"? I take it you mean that they are better than they were in FM22, but in what way? I'd love to see some comparisons or some more detailed explanation on this.
In FM22 we really only saw the effects of angles on FM23 I am seeing angles and players actually committing to winning the ball
