- In this video, we install Zone Offroad's 3 inch lift kit to one of my XJ's.
Be sure to check out my other videos as well.
I do have a visual impairment and I do have a video that's up that talks more about that too, if you want to know more about that.
Enjoy the video.
i did not know David Spade
worked on jeeps. good work
Ken Adams LOL thanks
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400
thanks.
That thing looks sick with the lift and rubicon’s!
thanks man got some new jeeps to lift soon
Screw the "Spacer drama" I've stacked 2 sets of spacers on my old truck with 14" boggers lol. It'll buff out! Haha. Nice build buddy! Keep up the great work!!
thanks man! About to drop a new build series on another Cherokee.
Well done! Great video and tip on the factory uplander lift ; I never knew this, and I’ve came across a few xj’s without the rear sway bar! Thanks now I know!🤙🏽
Glad I could help! And thanks for the positive comments. Just started on another one of these bills lol can’t get away from these jeeps
Awesome , I'm about to tackle a similar setup on my xj
I'm praying that the bolts for my leafs come out like yours did
awesome man hope it comes out easy. Hoping you have an easy install!
That looks pretty good with those Rubicon wheels...
Dan Hambrick thanks man yeah I think they look really good with these wheels
Did a Zone 3" on my 95 XJ with the full spring packs in the rear last Oct. I couldn't help notice you did the same thing I did on the front as I did reusing the stock track bar. I just noticed on mine that my front axle is no longer centered. Because of the lift, I'll need to upgrade to an adjustable track bar. Take a close look at your front suspension to make sure your axle is centered. Looked at the other option of drilling another hole on the axle bracket for the track bar and I'm taking option 2 (adjustable track bar) Found one on Amazon for 133$. I feel like it's the better option at least for me. Great Job! Thumbs up!
Project Bumble Jeep yes sir you are correct I forgot to mention that in the video I installed a drop down bracket that off centers the track bar to the correct position. I had an extra one laying around from an old kit. I would definitely do an adjustable track bar you were on the right path of thinking on that. Thanks for catching that also I would never drill into the track bar mount on the axle. Those tend to Waller out overtime and cause more damage than just a quick fix.
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 How was it putting in the drop down bracket for the track bar? Do you have a part number or supplier for that?
I'm in the same boat with my 99 XJ. I drove it for a month (not every day)and didn't realize the front axle was off center until I installed a new set of 31" tires and rims. Just ordered an Adj track bar the other day.
Frank The CADD Monkey i’ll try to find a part number for you but it’s a little bracket that makes the drag track bar point down and write a little bit if you’re staring at it I’ll try to find a picture or a part number for you
Frank The CADD Monkey I found one on Google I couldn’t find the brand name though. www.ebay.com/itm/1997-2006-Jeep-Wrangler-TJ-Front-Track-Bar-Drop-Bracket-For-2-4-Leveling-Kit-/142011865849
You need an Adjustable Track Bar along with upper and lower Adjustable Control Arms. then a for real line up. Longer Brake line front and rear Stock ZJ lines are long enough.Without doing what i mentioned i see some Death Wobble in your Future. Transfer case has to be dropped at least an inch. Should have used Bar Pin Eliminators for the rear shocks.
this jeep has zero death wobble. I’ve put this lift kit on several Cherokees I’ve built and had zero issues. The need for adjustable control arms will be needed for the jeep if it was going to be wheeled regularly. But for what this jeep is going to be used for with its new owner they’re not required adjustable track bar would definitely straight out the front end. But it’s not required the jeep got a track bar relocation bracket that goes on the axle side. Also this jeep did not need a drop down spacer for the transfer case it did not require it. Some Cherokees require some down only way to find out is driving it up and down the road and seeing if vibration occurs.. But I do understand the concern for adjustable control arms and track bar I will be making a video soon explaining what are the needs of these parts on some lift kits and some suspension kits
Great tip on the re tighten bolts, still have to do that on mine. Also, did anti seize on mine with I was putting every thing back together.
Project Bumble Jeep thanks man yeah that’s a good tip also. Anti seize does work wonders
Nice informative video. Working on an XJ now. (99) Classic. I'm in for the shirt if you get em in old fat guy sizes: 62 and 3XL! Thanks man! BTW: Liked and Subbed.
John Duff thank you I really appreciate it! I’ll definitely let everybody know on the shirts LOL still trying to work a couple things out.
Turned out really nice.
Nice work Wren! Let me know when your selling those hoodies. It's a sick looking hoodie. Keep up the good work
Paul Gutierrez thanks man will do
very nice , going with 3" rc on the super clean 99 2door xj I just got !!
awesome not to spoil and upcoming video I picked up a nice two door five-speed. I Rough Country is OK if you just wanna lift not an actual suspension the shocks or junk they ride very stiff and leak.
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 yeah Ive heard good and bad bout rc . a guy by me has 3 modded xjs swears by rc , talked me into it lol
@@796andy2 are used to install their kids all day when I was working at a local off-road shop. I’ve had them on several other Cherokees that I bought that had them. I was never a fan I would basically chalk them up as a lift kit not a suspension kit. They rode very rough compared to the other lift kits and suspension kits out there. If you have any questions about anything feel free to ask ma anything
The rear leafs just the 3" add-a-leaf that came from Zone? Any sag on the rear yet?
came out nice ! had it out in the pine barrens last week and it did great !
check it out ...
Love the hoodie!
It's all about the *_angle_* of the *_dangle_* lmao
Looks great !! What size tire did you run on these rubicons
Thank you factory 32s
Ive used spacers before...no issues....
Id only say, get hub centric or u can get some unbalanced rides..
Matthew Sipe I agree
nice content!🔥
Tim Vos thanks man
The rear leafs just the 3" add-a-leaf that came from Zone in an old stock flattened set? Any sag on the rear yet?
still running strong and these are the aals
sell that for sure and stickers
Nice work, What size tires are those rubicons that you put on after the lift?
Chris Colbert there’s a stock BFG mud terrain they came on the factory Rubicon’s I believe they measure out to a 32
Kinda late but what size were the before ones
I cant believe you didnt douche all the bolts down a day before you worked on it. Make your life easier man. I just picked up 5 of those same wheels for my 04 grand cherokee.
Up country package... You just described my 99 sport xj .
Whats the price on the hoodies
c gonzo yeah a lot of people don’t know about that I’ve only come across one XJ to have it and I’ve owned over 60 LOL. I’ll let you know as soon as possible when I get prices on the hoodies. Thanks for the support I really appreciate it
I asked Mopar for a build sheet on my jeep that's how I know about it .
I enjoy the videos keep banging them out
c gonzo sure will man got some plans for the new year
@@cgonzo801 how does one go about contacting them for a build sheet? Have a 98 sport i am in the process of building piece by piece and it would be immensely helpful
@@troyguinn303 jeepsies.com/jeep-build-sheet/
Lift 3 inches withoit adding any stabilizer ?
stock one was still good.
Hey those 1” spacer front and Back ?? What brand did you use ??thanks 👍🏽
CJ Barba I got them off eBay I made sure they were a reputable product. I just went to the reviews to make sure. For good quality I will go with spider tracks they make a great spacer
Could I use stock control arms with a 3 inch lift kit?
Yes you can. If you go up any higher I would recommend longer control arms adjustable is better also.
what are you building?
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 just bought my first vehicle 1992 Cherokee Laredo
How’s the lift holding up? Does it still ride good?
yep this lift still rides great. I’ve sold the jeep and I’m about to start a new project cherokee here soon so stay tune for that!
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 Thanks for the reply! If I may ask, what does deleting the rear sway bar accomplish?
Could you fit 33s without cutting? With that lift
you could but it would rub alittle bit. I wouldn’t do any wheeling or offroading with it too much. And that’s with the stock flares
No spacer on the back right? What size tires?
Sea Horse do you mean on suspension or the wheels. There is a wheel adapters front and rear. The wheels and tires are factory JK Rubicon wheels and tires.
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 255 75 17?
Sea Horse yeah roughly a 32
So do you get rid of the rear sway bar?
Isaiah Woodbury yes sir you pull the whole thing out and it does not go back in.
What size are those wheels?
17 inch wheels. These wheels come off a JK jeep Wrangler Rubicon
What size tires
255/75r17 Thank it measures out to you about a 32 inches tall
How much was that kit
I believe it was like 350 bucks when I ordered it. Not sure what the going rate is now it was very affordable though.
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 I'm going have to check it out
Music put me out
been working on it.
Any issues by removing the rear sway bar?
Mod List zero issues. With every lift kit you’re gonna have to pull the rear sway bar off. Even from the factory and they added the 1 inch lift on the upcountry packages they removed it. But definitely keep your front sway bar. And get the proper disconnects or extensions for the links
Wrenegade Offroad ohhh okay, I’m lifting my jeep as we speak right now. Ima just remove it from permanently from the rear then. I was just curious because I have seen a lot of people remove the rear but didn’t know if it did any harm to it since I plan on daily driving it
Mod List yeah you should be all good to run without it. And as far as I know I’ve never even seen any aftermarket support for a track bar in the rear for a Cherokee.
@@wrenegadeoffroad1400 If you remove the rear track bar, hang on to it. Towing anything more than a small bike trailer will get really squirelly without it.
@@seantonge2236 ehh I towed another cherokee for 35 miles on a flatbed with mine and no issues. With a 4.5" lift.
