I knew there was a cult following for the XJs, but didn't realize Davis Austosports existed till last week and found out they completely restore the vehicle. Very cool!
Beautiful restoration . Wish i could afford to have my 98 XJ 2 door freshened up by your amazing company. Ive got a rust free 84k 4L. That would be a perfect candidate. One day.
horriblle. the seats are not matching the rare two tone interior of that xj. why ruin art just because your hated and think you got something better. saggy pants wearing side ways hat wearing type people who like seeing that sort of ugly.
@@David-rj1ru I agree. I have the same tan interior in my 97 XJ Sport, and the seat color choice on this build didn't do it for me, would have reconditioned the stock seats or at minimum kept the same tan \ sand color as close as possible to the original.
Who would spend tons of money on a XJ?? Definitely not me checking my bank account and planning what excuse to give my wife. Amazing job! Absolutely worth it
Hands down, my favorite video on RUclips. Thank you so, so much for doing this!! It was like magic watching her be reborn and come back to life. I yearn for the day when I can also do an exact restoration, even if not my own. Simply awesome!!
I just bought my 3rd XJ. The first two I had got away from me.. but that will not happen again, lol. This video is amazing, the attention to detail is on another level. Ironically, the jeep I just bought is a 97 and has this exact same interior! I can't wait to start working on it! If I ever hit the lotto, I'll be calling you guys!
My name is Antonio and I'm writing from Portugal. I bought my second XJ a few months ago as this is the nicest Jeep ever made. Just to say that the video is superb and the job you've done is fantastic. Nice wheels!
I consider myself to be a pretty patient person. My job requires craft and care and I tend to be one of the more patient people on most projects. However, there is almost nothing you could do to convince me to summon the patience and unending care these people put into paint work. It's mind boggling and I respect it so much.
Replying to my own comment, but... if I didn't love this video enough already, then Yppah comes on around 9:30 and it just makes it. This video is just so good. Even down to the little details you now and love about maintaining an XJ like the lights get soldered in and the grill getting notched to fit the condenser tubes. Just good stuff.
Iv always known xj was special iv had my 89 /4.0 /4wd for 19 years and seeing this resurgence and price jump with a cultish following and even bigger after market than before is so crazy but im lovin my old xj even more she's about to get a complete inhouse resto ..🔥🔥🔥
@@connormclees9787 it was one of the two tone interior models. They added an extra tone. Doesn't look good. It looks fresh for sure. Not particularly good though.
I’ve been gawking at your XJ’s for years. Just found this vid and had no freaking idea how much tlc you guys actually put into them!! Absolutely amazing skill and work you all do!!! What I would do to get my hands on one of your builds. Truly professional work for an amazing platform 4x4. Keep it up, love seeing those XJ’s getting that kinda treatment!!!!
It would be amazing to work at this place, and work on these Cherokees. Keeping these things on the road are getting harder as the years keep on coming.
Restorations like this can run $35k-$65k according to Google, making it not only effectively a brand new XJ, but roughly priced accordingly. 🤷♂️ Worth it.
I love my TJ,and I Ain't no Cheerleader, Hell basically stock with some minor mods,Ain't found a new or old Jeep anything that can out Climb me on the Trails out here yet!! But I Would Love to find a Decent Priced XJ just to be able to pull a small offroad Teardrop without special mods, and the Fact that they make good Overlanders!
@davis auto, please mention in your videos what was the total cost of restoration, so I can start saving for my 01 xj which has over 300k miles. Quality of your craftsmanship is so beautiful it just amazes me.
I had a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 for 12 years just like this with that beautiful green color. Would love to have another just like it. Gray interior. Fog Lights. Would trade my 2014 Jeep Patriot Latitude for one in pristine condition! AC and a modern CD stereo system on it would be great.
To watch your videos , A great pleasure for me , All of you ( the team) are fantastic craftmens , l have a Cherokee xj 2001 export model in Turkey .if it is possible one day , l want to send my xj for restoration to you
Beautiful stuff fellas! If only i had the money saved to get my 97 XJ done. Quick question. Looks like you have a stock rear bumper on it. Did you also install the rear bumper shield? I was rear ended, got the repairs done, bought a bumper, and bought a couple of sheild ls......non of them work. Is a bumper shield necessary and if so where can i get one? Thanks! I will continue to follow.

Definitely do that one day

when you tell your car insurance that your 90s XJ is worth 30k and they call bs lol
They are better built back then new Cherokee can't get 500k miles on original engine.
Ain’t that the truth!
Right
I love it, I’ve watched it start to finish 6 times. I’ll probably watch it again with dinner.
Watching this is literally like me waking up from a dream... kudos to you!

give the camera guy and editor a raise

I loved my XJ's, still one classic looking SUV. I see them all the time in movies, that body style never gets old. Great job guys.
Great video editing - and a meticulous job, beautiful to watch...👍
I had an XJ. This restoration made it totally new.
Better than new

Classic Jeep XJ deserves the effort
these jeeps are iconic asf
Looks like a museum piece now, nice.
XJ's are cool. Great restore. I've owned my for 20 years now. Still love it!!!
Can’t wait until I give you all my Jeep one day❗️
If XJ's were still in production😭😍 One day I'll be seeing you guys🙌🏼
I think they need to bring it back like they did with the bronco and blazer.
That xj is a beauty
This XJ is my dream machine! You guys are the Gold Standard in XJ renovating! Truly amazing work, I'm nearly speechless. God Bless ya'll from Minny

Where do I sign up for mine to be on the list??? Such a great job, you all are professionals!!!!
make sure they dont ruin the seats

Exactly, and people still shit talk them for there asking prices
Now that is well done work👍
I Absolutely Love what you guys do to XJ's..
If only I had the money to have you guys to a Package 2 Restoration on my '99 XJ..
I would think this "Paint Job" cost more than the XJ cost when it was new. Serious Job. Should go into a museum.
It's a dream! I loved XJ, and I have one.
Thanks bro, youre specialist jeep cheerokee xj
That is the perfect XJ

Love the work you guys do. I can really see the love behind it. 🙏🤙✊ thank you
Nice work gentlemen.
Gorgeous
When you win the lottery but XJ is still life 😎
One detail of the interior restoration was the seat belts, to me I would have installed black instead of the gray ones.
That’s what I was thinking too. They went through the trouble of replacing the entire interior but left the ugly seat belts.

Шикарная реставрация!
Amazing build. Very clean👍
Nice ride but could use a chunky bumper and bullbar with a winch . Maybe some mesh on the headlamps.
Omg guys what is the rivet and tool called the guy is using at 16:42? Please respond someone?
Looks like a PITTSBURGH Poly Hand Riveter Kit, 41 Pc from harborfreight
Gorgeous!
