I've got this little job to do at the weekend. Particularly helpful is your attention to detail which is missing on the other 206 h/g vids I've seen so far. It's great that you took the time to pause and explain a few of the things whizzed over elsewhere. Top job! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For those that want to do this job, the correct torque and angle (for most gasket kits) is:
    (1) 20nm torque
    (2) 120º on all bolts
    (3) 120º again on all bolts (which gives a total of 240º)
The tightening sequence is done using 120º twice instead of 240º once in order to maintain even pressure on the head as tightening is done. Of course, check in the gasket kit for the instructions. Some are different thicknesses and require different torque and tightening doing on them. Elring gaskets are as above.

Like the technique of locking the cam shaft but how do you change the cam belt with that bracket in place?

  • @brommas1

All of that and you didnt do new tensioner, belt and water pump? think i would have spent the £70 or so extra and done it correctly to ensure no major work for the next 3 -4 years or so.

Also I would have spend £5 on an angle gauge rather than using a dot of paint!

Do you know what size the head bolts are ?

Understand times an issue when doing a video, but what about water pump, false economy not doing it, you never mentioned the timing belt tensioner and how to correctly set and adjust it, good idea making up your board to lock the engine but it would have been easier and quicker looking for the flywheel locking point, on that vehicle it just being the oil filter

Hi I have question I bought a 206 fever 1.4 2004 plate but unfortunately it needed lots of work and I now have a problem with coolant leaking very very quickly it all happend as I turned the engine on and coolant flowed out do you have any idea on what it could be as I have no pressure in the system anymore and when I test the bottle to pump section. Litrally 2 seconds later the coolant comes flooding back out do you think it could just be a pip as I'm worried it's something bad as if it is I'm screwed

so many things wrong here that you better go to another site if you want to do this job, first is he didn't know where the crank timing was, there is a small hole near the oil filter,to make it easy I just put a right angle in a bit of brake pipe and put that though you have to know this in case you ever lose the timing,so first turn the engine [big socket on bottom pulley] until you can line up the cam pulley with the hole he showed you, then the crank should be in about right place, but don't put the pipe in and leave it just check you have found the hole, move the a the crank tiny bit in each direction [don't force it] just to make sure once in take it out and don't turn the engine any more, now you can retime the engine any time like a pro, other things are the plastic shield under the wing you only need to take half off it joins in the middle, you don't need to take the engine mounting off saves a lot of work [like all that ECU he took off],on the right hand side you will be stumped when you try to take the water pipes off [he didn't show you that] you take the whole water jacket off,ten long 10 mm bolts east to get to,only way, don't take the inlet manifold off [the bolts underneath are a job and half [he didn't show you that] just disconnect all the plugs and pipes, and take the lot off in one lump, and on and on,he made a lot of extra work out of it and timing problems, don't go his way.

Hi, I have a Peugeot 207, 2008,51k miles car. My car recently shows message anti pollution fault , power loss a lot could you advise me how to fix this problem?

well, it is a generic code for any kind of fuel injection issue, maybe your fuel pump is gone, you should check the pressure on the fuel line, could be possible it is going down.Thats the first guess of mine, my second guess is the oxygen sensor(or lambda sensor) that went crazy!!!THE BEST WAY to fix a Peugeot is having your own scanner like Lexia PP 2000 tool, or a code reader dignostic tool like Autel Maxiscan MS509, it will be definetely better to see the right thing at the spot instead of changing unnecessary parts.
