That’s ironic, because I kinda thought the voice actor that plays Donny sounds like one of Gumball’s voice actors before they hit puberty and their voices started to change.
@@rushmaverick1923 IKR. Although Nicholas Cantu (Leo's voice) can no longer do Gumball's voice, I feel like Micah Abbey (Donnie's voice) could do a great job at it.
It works better for me than when they learned from a book in the Bay movies 😂 I do wonder if they're going to expand on Splinter's backstory at all to give him a history with ninjas or if they're going to leave it as is.
My theory is that they're going to learn how to actually fight now that they're faced off with someone who has actual ninja skills (Shredder)@@raye-raphaelsashay8521
Loved this movie. Saw it twice and I'm thinking about going back a 3rd time. I just hope we get a sequel. I can't believe this made this available for streaming in under 4 weeks. ❤😊
What I love about the TMNT franchise is that it was always appeal and resonate with kids/teens of every generation. Definitely a franchise that keeps up with the times and every generation of kids will have a TMNT to look back on fondly.
The entire scene with new yorkers helping to fight Superfly has such big Spiderman energy to me. I would really love to see the tmnt and spiderman hanging out, I think they'd be great friends.
When the trailers came out, a TON of reactors commented that they don't like Donnie's voice, since he sounds so much younger than the others. And I agree that it stands out, but honestly, throughout the movie you get used to it, and the actor did a fantastic job. Plus, kids really do mature at totally different rates. It's completely realistic to have one of them sound like his voice hasn't dropped yet, and it helps emphasize how young 15 really is. I also think it works for Donnie's character.
I was thinking the same thing too!! It fits since he's the nerd of the group he clearly would be late with puberty so his voice wouldn't get lower loo ike the others
As someone who works at a highschool donnie sounds like plenty of teens his age, these ppl must not be around anyone younger than 20 to be saying that.
26:45 "This is what Rise should have been." This is what Rise was supposed to be. Corps pushed for lighter and softer action, more comedy, and individual standalone episodes that could be mixed and matched. Take a look at the Rise movie. THAT is what the writers wanted the show to be like.
I’m honestly so thankful to Netflix, the Rise Movie is what the writers wanted the shows tone and story to be like, and Netflix let them have that when Viacom didn’t
Something I like about the movie that Seth does in other movies is the fact he has all the voice actors act in the exact same room so all their energy plays off each other, giving it a much more natural feel to everyone talking.
1:05:25 Rise was my first major exposure to TMNT and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I will agree that some of the interim episodes were, as you put it, 'a little rough'. I will solidly say that this is 100% due to executive meddling. They wanted shorter, smaller, less plot driven episodes that focused more on comedy and simple gags. The creative team had to fight to get the handful of half hour specials that we had and even those had to be toned down to a lighter and softer style. The fifteen minute filler episodes, were just that, filler.
The finale episodes we’re some of the best in terms of writing and animation and the writers were forced to write an ending for their series in only three weeks and board it in about a month I believe (they had a promised 7 seasons when the series initially aired which was cut to 3 seasons, and then not even that because they cut the second season in half when there were finished episodes in the midst of animation. Fans didn’t realize the series was over until literally the last episode aired and the people that worked Rise had to scramble to find new jobs) You’ll see in the credits they do in the beginning of the episodes that the number of writers and storyboarders that worked on the episodes are like five to ten people which is not typical for any cartoon Props to JJ Conway especially he is my hero I just have so many fun facts about Rise that I never get to share sorry
No one’s pointed this out so I will… Splinter wasn’t just voiced by Jackie Chan. Even the way he fought and the pacing of his action sequence very much so pays homage to Jackie’s stuff. The humor, reactions, and just the overall way he improvs w/ his environment. Perfect.
(At 7:32) normally the turtles are all the same age, but sometimes I judge their age by their personalities from oldest to youngest: Leonardo: responsible and Daddy's boy (The Strategist) Raphael: rude and cocky (The Brawns) Donatello: smart and nerdy (The Brains) Michelangelo: anxious and curious (The Wildcard)
My favorite part has got to be the guy who helped Splinter at the very end get the antiserum to the Turtles is voiced by one of the two original creators of TMNT
The reference humor in this movie works so well for me because 1. It feels legitimately relevant and timely, since they got a lot of it from the actual teens playing the characters, and 2. It's a part of the turtles legacy! If you watch the original 90s movies, they're chock full of pop culture references. And yeah, I get basically none of them, but it still helps the characters feel like real teens, and I don't think the movies suffer for them. I hope this ages just as well.
Bree not liking the word "ooze" reminded me of the batman vs the tmnt movie, there's a joke about that with Batgirl. You guys should watch that with her! It's great.
I know you didn't like Rise but you'd probably love the movie. It's phenomenal. Like you said at the end, Rise had some high highs and the movie is a perfect example of that.
Rise was I think, ruined by their expectations. I think they expected it to be like 2012 or 2003 turtles more than anything, and that’s when things happened, they didn’t like it when the the show focused on comody and Characters, rather than the plot, even though those moments did have a lot of really good character to them. Rise as a franchise isn’t for everyone, but I still think they should check out the movie. It has a mix of everything.
Yeah I agree the Rise movie is also a genuine great movie and definately at the top of the TMNT movie list along with Mutant Mayhem. It is a shame as I honestly think they will not give it a chance and react to it. But still am really glad a lot of people do still praise and it is ranked so high by many. Hopefully maybe they will and tbh I think they will be in for a massive suprise as it is definately a lot more different from the series.
@jaredtheastralartist2510 yeah, one of the main things they brought up all the time was how little they trained. I think that combined with the episodes being out of order had them really frustrated. But people who only saw the Rise versions of the turtles didn't have expectations for what the series was gonna be, so them doing more shenanigans than training wasn't really an issue.
If you guys are going to watch the turtle movies don’t sleep on that rise movie. Even if you don’t finish watching the show, I still recommend you jump into that.
Fun fact: This was directed by Jeff Rowe, who previously co-directed The Mitchell's vs The Machines with Mike Rianda, as well as worked on Gravity Falls. Heck, the creator of GF, Alex Hirsch, voiced the news reporter.
"Your head's like Stewie has a baby with Hey Arnold." I remembered that when I saw the movie in theaters and is probably my favorite line in the movie.
agreed!!! i think it strikes a REALLY good balance w the characterisation etc. it felt like watching all my favourite bits of past tmnt iterations mashed together in a blender
39:59 THAT LOOK! I know exactly what you’re thinking and I’m so excited for them to show them in this world now that they’ve got this slight body horror vibe for the whole thing
So as an artist myself- The director of the movie said they wanted this movie to look like a teenager drew it, obviously a nod to the T in TMNT standing for “Teenage” lol one of em atleast. I love this movie so much it 100% accomplishes what they wanted to do. I just love stylized animated movies like this and the spider verse movies! Also they’re all voiced by teenage actors. Lol even if one of em sounds 7 I support them cuz I still sound and look 14 despite being a 23 yr old man 😂😂😂
If you guys are actually interested in doing a reaction series of the tmnt movies, I'd love to see it! But dont skip out on Batman vs the TMNT or the Rise movie just because they never came out theatrically, those are both great.
Oh and PLEASE consider checking out the 2012 cartoon series sometime, I think it'd be way more up your alley than Rise. It's my favorite tmnt show by far
Wanted to add on since you mentioned it, they aren’t all the same age. They usually arent, but its the same for this iteration. Oldest to youngest, it goes: Leo, Raph, Donnie, then Mikey. In Mikey’s character description, they even classified him as “the baby”, so take of that what you will lol. Donnie is just a late bloomer, which is why he sounds so young
Yeah in most tmnt iterations they are all the same age aside from "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". There Mikey is 13, Donnie and Leo are 15, and Raph is 17.
@@lilveltheplayer2164 I think you had heard Donnie's voice (Micah Abbey is a bit younger than the other 3). Nicky Cantu grew up and went through puberty, so he can't do Gumball anymore (Last time he was Gumball was in the final episode of Darwin's Yearbook, saying "What the what" offscreen)
This movie was hella fire definitely can’t wait for the sequel and the tv series and yes they are making a spin off tv series for this movie that’s supposed to be a “bridge” between this movie and the upcoming sequel they’re making but if y’all still planning to check out some other TMNT content in the meantime I highly recommend to check out the 2012 CGI animated series like the story writing some of the fight choreography go nuts
Ngl I'm real salty about the fact that apparently this one got another movie and a series locked in before people even saw this one while Rise got canceled and cutdown.
I'll agree that it really sucks, but I'd rather support MM and have it not end up like Rise. We'd be no better than the haters back in 2018. I still do hope that Rise gets a season 3, but chances are slim now since Nickelodeon will be focusing on MM
I definitely recommend you guys to check out the Rise of the TMNT movie however I feel like you guys should at least watch and react to the four part series finale to rise. Cause it'll explains some stuff you'll see in the movie for context like certains characters, the origins of where shredder got his armor and stuff etc. As well as seeing Shredder as serious threat and the turtles as well. Not to mention a pretty badass fight to end the series with.
Hard agree with this. They have the set up from season 1, the finale has some of the best parts of the show (even if the storytelling is a little rushed, it's taken more seriously than usual and I think they'd appreciate it), and after that the movie is an incredible experience that takes those characters to heights we never could've anticipated. I really think this is the way to go.
I love Rise but if they revisit Rise it’s gonna hurt me so bad I don’t know if I can take it like the last five minutes of the video alone are killing me
I can't wait to watch RISE. I just got the 2003 show and started watching cause I never got a chance to see that one. I really hope we get a sequel in 2024 ❤😊
26:45 "Fun" Fact: The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie is basically what the creators wanted the show to be like before the Corps made them heavily tone it down by making the show have less action and a lot more comedy. Watch the Movie.
Oddly enough, I can’t believe that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails did the score for this movie. The score sounds amazing. That’s Nine Inch Nails for you. They’ve been making film scores since 2010 with The Social Network. And I remember reading that the soundtrack is mostly 90s Hip Hop.
For everyone commenting on Donnie sounding younger than the other turtles, it was confirmed that Donnie was a late bloomer. Also if y'all are interested in reacting to more TMNT stuff, I'd recommend the 2012 show.
(At 35:40) Cajun. Leatherhead had a Cajun accent, in the 1987 classic. And he was a bully who said "I guarantee" in that accent. Unlike his 2003 and 2012 counterparts who were nicer…with anger management issues, that could be suppressed.
That version of What's Going On actually is from the He Man meme (there's a skeletor voice in it lol), meaning they must've paid those guys for permission to use it, which is so funny to me
The way that the people of New York came to help the mutants, always reminds me of the Spider-Man movies. The first 2002 one, and the first Amazing one. When New Yorkers came to help Spider-Man stop Green Goblin, and get to the Lizard.
Though I am holding out hope for rise since I recently got into it, I am still excited what Mutant Mayhem has in store. Who knows? Maybe they’ll be able to have a crossover with the Rise turtles along with 2012 and 2003. That’d be pretty cool I think
I loved Rise but I get why you didn’t like it, it’s not for everyone, but I really hope you watch the Rise movie. Like you said, they made it standalone so anyone with Netflix(or a pirate flag) and a basic understanding of TMNT could watch it. It also has some God tier animation in it.
Something I love about this movie is that I feel like it doesn't try to orient the focus solely on Leo and Raph like so many other turtles media does. Obviously I love those things too, but it was so refreshing to see each of the turtles have equal opportunity to shine! Idk the movie just made me so happy to be a TMNT fan like all of the characters are just so wonderful and delightful, and the animation is mind meltingly awesome. Genuinely one of my favorite movies ever--I love the direction both animation and the ninja turtles are going in. I love things with absolutely messed up looking humans I love it so much it reminds me of like Invader Zim or Paranorman or Psychonauts and it's wonderful
As a 15-year-old who grew up with the Ninja Turtles, this movie really resonated with me. They even used Gen Z words that I always hear in highschool (and use myself) such as "Rizz" and "Sus" (for people who don't know: "Rizz" is basically like your "attractiveness" level----like how "pretty" or "handsome" you are to someone else, and "Sus" is short for "Suspicious". "Sus" became SUPER popular in 2018-2020 because of Among Us, a video game, and "Rizz".......I dunno. I just heard everyone at school saying it one day, then everyone on the internet using it, so I used it out of habit). I thought that I was the only one in the theaters that knew what those words meant and understood the 2018-2023 teen humor that they used in this movie (and it seemed like I did). But I was shocked with the very fact that a film used that word....because it was the first time I've heard that word outside of my school (and media), let alone in a MOVIE. On top of that, (even though I was born in 2007), I heard all of the songs that they used in this movie's soundtrack _WAYYYY_ back when I was about 4 to 7-years-old on the radio. I sang along to *ALL* of the songs in the movie due to this. (I kind of grew up on 80's-90's shows, movies, and music, ok?) They even did *two* Attack On Titan references, and my brother and I literally *LOVE* anime, and as someone who watchs Attack On Titan with my brother, those 2 references just _hit home_ . I don't really like BTS, but the media was CRAZY about BTS and K-POP in 2020 all the way to 2023, (and one of my cousins is a K-POP and BTS fan, so I always got an earful of BTS and K-POP songs from them playing it on their phone) that I also understood those references. Don't even get me STARTED on the fact that Donatello was wearing a *JOJO HOODIE* , bro, I was going CRAZY on that. I also liked the fact that the Ninja Turtles wore their _original 1980's belts_ . It gave me a good taste of nostalgia. And the fact that they even have *Wingnut* , *Mondo Gecko* , and *Leatherhead* , all from the 1980's Ninja Turtles show, that was crazy (Even though, yes, I admit, I only found out about Mondo Gecko from the 2012 TMNT show I watched as a 5-year-old). I was also happy when I saw that the Mutant Mayhem Leatherhead kinda dressed similarly to the 'ole 80's one. I was kind of confused that Leatherhead and Wingnut are girls now, though, but that's ok. Pretty minor, actually. I don't think the fact that Bebop and Rocksteady are in this movie is supposed to be shocking, but I was still shocked. I was a bit confused on why Casey Jones wasn't in this movie, (and why Shredder came at the end), but seeing Shredder at the end of the movie made me happy because I know there's gonna be a sequel. Casey Jones better be in the sequel, bro. Anyways, I gave this movie a 10/10 for all these reasons plus how funny the actors were and the animation and fight scenes. I literally thought this movie was so amazing, that I watched it *4 times* . In the theaters. Not even at home. (Not back-to-back, but I watched the movie 4 times in total in the theaters. Twice at the Howard Hughes theaters (I watched it one day, then the next day watched it again), and twice at the AMC theater (watched it one day, then 5 days later watched it again). This franchise was my childhood, and I loved the Ninja Turtles as a young kid. I even wore a TMNT hoodie every single time I went to watch this movie. That's how much I love TMNT. I still have 2012 Michelangelo's plastic nunchaku that I had since I was 4-years-old (though the color is a bit faded and the chain broke), but lost Raphael's plastic Sais (I never got Donatello's Bo staff and Leonardo's Twin Katana. Dunno why I didn't ask but I didn't). In short, this movie really hit home, since I'm a Gen Z teenager that grew up with the pop culture they used in this movie, on top of TMNT being my childhood franchise.
Man, First Nimona, then Spider Verse 2 and now TMNT Mutant Mayhem aka as I call it “Into the Sewer-Verse!” You guys are swinging and not pulling punches with the GOATED movies of the year! 4:25 The animation/art-style for this movie/universe is kind of like oil painting like but mostly mixed, fused and influenced by middle and high school notebook sketches, Seeking to be based off the teenager aspect of imperfect drawings and also the story being as an allegory for teenage identity, explores themes of acceptance and desires to fit in as the filmmakers drew inspiration from teenage coming-of-age films to make the turtles feel relatable as actual teens and be voiced by actual teenagers. Also Fun fact: 92% of the artists that worked on this movie worked on Sony Picture Animations’ The Mitchells vs the machines and the other 8 artists worked on the first 2 Spider-Verse movies! 5:02 🎵Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Heroes in a half shell, Turtle Power!!🎶 47:08 Me: HOLY H. Mutant Mayhem is one of my top favorites of TMNT content! Saw it in Dolby Cinema and it was very cool. I liked seeing the brotherly dynamic between the turtles and them wanting to be part of human society, that was interesting to me. And ofc, the animation style, plus the action sequences were a sight to behold. I overall give Mutant Mayhem a solid cowabunga!
The sequel has already been announced as well as a spin off show for Paramount+. Due to the current strikes, we probably won’t see anything for a couple years.
Since the question was asked-: I believe the art style was based on highschool sketches, I even think a few of the animators were teenagers tbh-. I might not be correct- but to my knowledge I at least know that was what the style was based on- not 100 percent sure about the animators tho- Edit: Who else cried during the first time they saw the movie-? T-T
Superfly's "One Winged Angel" moment is more hideous when you think about it. He didn't just force a fusion with those animals, they basically melted into his body and were in complete agony.
1:05:40 For Rise I don't wanna spoil or pressure you guys but I recommend at least the last espisodes (17-18-19) the animations for these fights are gorgeous and deserve to be known and seen. I don't really wanna spoil anything but you'll be confused of why Raph and Leo switched roles in the team and you'll never know who the girl in the footclan is and NO, she ISN'T Karai. SPOILER ALERT: SPOILER She is a female version of another character......... Also you'll miss the story between the REAL Karai (who will appear) and the Shredder and why the turtles have basically super powers AND you'll miss a very important factor in Draxum character............
For the record, they did try to finish it on their patrion. But they were confused with with splinters initial defeat at the start of the season, and we’re kind of upset about it so much that they skipped the last episode. 3+4 of the finale.
@@jaredtheastralartist2510 oh ok thank you so much for filling me in, guess they've met Karai, Cass's revelation and had understood that Drax is on their side now so they should be ready for the movie 👍😁
I didn’t like that they turned Casey into a girl wasn’t really vibing to it , hopefully in the sequel or series they’ll stick with making Casey into a guy again and also a teenager

Mutant Mayhem has been confirmed to be getting a second movie as well as a cartoon with 2 seasons already ordered which will be animated by titmouse :-)
Yeah quick question regarding Bebop: Was giving Bebop sacky nipple piercings… necessary? Cuz, now I'm going to have trouble getting THAT "scarring" image out of my head.
YES! I agree with you about that, like W-Why just Why?! My original reaction to seeing that was "MY EYES!" And also is nobody gonna bring up the fact that his (wait, was it rocksteady's) shoulder guards were flipping TURTLE SHELLS???!!! 🐢☠️😱
You guys should Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Got a lot of easter eggs for both Batman and TMNT, ooze mutations, and the Bat family and turtles against the Foot Clan, League of Assassins and various Batman villains. Seriously, if you love this movie, you'll love Batman vs TMNT! Also, if you do, there's a short post credit scene.
(At 2:30) Oh yeah, there's always one thing that stood out about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animations characters… Aside from the supporting characters like April, Casey, Irma, Karai, and maybe Bishop all the background characters (humans or civilians) look… really *BAD* if not ugly. The ones from 2003, I can say looked more decent.
The original turtle never had the letters on the belt. That only came later with the tv show. They do throw a lot of easter eggs in this movie that I love.
This is a very old video to comment on lol but I just wanted to mention how cool it was they included Laired’s name in the movie. Also, to brag because my grandma was friends with his sister
I love this movie. I watched it a couple times in theatre and can’t wait to own it. I still got super emotional during the climax. I hope there are going to be lots of behind the scenes to watch when it’s released properly. Your review was endlessly entertaining. I would be SO STOKED if you gave Rise another chance. Please please please watch season two. The finale alone will make up for everything that you disliked about season one, and there are some really good episodes before that too. The animation only gets cleaner and while you don’t *need* it to watch the movie, there are probably a couple of small things that will shift how you see things. In a good way. I watched the movie first, then the show, and knowing the turtles better made rewatching the movie just so much more. It’s my favourite iteration of turtles, full stop, which is a really high bar. On a practical note the animation in the movie is so goddamn clean. I have seen it SO MANY times and I will NEVER get over what a good job those animators did. Pause it anywhere and you’ll have a solid screencap frame, bet. Between the season two finale episodes and the movie? I cry every time. It makes me so emotional and so happy. Legit powerful. I’m getting emotional just thinking about it. I love you guys and it would mean a lot if you gave the rest of Rise the chance it truly deserves. Mutant Mayhem is supposed to be getting a show. I can’t wait for you guys to be able to react to that as well. I hope they keep the art style. MM wouldn’t be the same without it.
Yeah overall I liked this movie wasn't a fan of the art style but loved how they are actually the "TEENAGE" mutant ninja turtles in this version. I think this is a first as all other adaptations I've seen they feel more like young to full blown adults
You know, Normal Nate is voiced by David Faustino. Better known for playing Bud Bundy of “Married with Children”. I still remember that one episode “Death of a Shoe Salesman”, when that funeral director was trying to get him interested in buying that TMNT coffin that looked like a turtle shell with a pepperoni pizza on it. It’s as funny now as it was back then.
This movie was so good! The AOT reference coming in clutch for the climax was too funny. Yall should react to the live action movie trilogy. Those movies hold a special place in my heart 😂😂
The artstyle is pretty much the same as teenagers drawing from hightschool, this movie is animated in a way that looks like it’s animated by teenagers.
I don't know why some people are put off by their voices sounding so different. I remember being a teen and my guy friends' voices did not change at the same rate lmao. A few of them 100% still sounded like Donny does at 15 and it suddenly changed over a summer. XD I also knew some guys who sounded way too old for their age. It's weird like that.
I love the fact that with this movie for the first time ever the turtles are actually voiced by real teenagers 😁💕, to me that casting move was genius 👏🏻
1:02:00, you guys NEED to watch Elemental next! Your talking about GOOD stories with great and unique animations and wacky, off-the-wall budgets, and that's Elemental in a nutshell. Everybody was saying it was gonna flop, and guess what: IT MADE HALF A BILLION DOLLARS!!! ($500,000,000.00)
By Bree not liking the word ooze, yall should watch with Bree, Batman vs TMNT. It's a fantastic watch & there's a moment in the film I think Bree will appreciate. 💚💚
i love the character design in this movie! the humans just look horrendous, but it works because it helps illustrate that in this story, they're the monsters. April, a perfectly average girl, is lovely in comparison because she has a good heart, and can be trusted.
I'm so glad that this movie brought back your faith in the TMNT franchise! It's artstyle was so unique, it really scritched my head the right way and made me jump around and giggle! I know Rise is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you're willing to give it a second chance, PLEASE watch the movie! It has the same breathtaking animation it had during the Season 1 finale and trust me, it does it job well!! Alot of people loved it and some even got to Rise BECAUSE of the movie! It's just that great and really worth the shot! And although I can't force any of you to continue watching the series, but if the movie scratched your head the right way, I would also recommend continuing Season 2 but maybe skip ahead to the lore heavy episodes. There were still a few filler episodes but since S2 had less episodes, it doesn't take away from the charm AND most episodes actually have lore relevance! So if you liked the movie, I recommend starting off where you left off! Again, I won't force you guys to continue watching Rise, and would wholeheartedly respect your decision if you decide to completely cut it off, but just know that if you do watch the movie, I'll definitely be there to react to it! P.S. I would LOVE to see you guys binge the entire TMNT franchise! ROTTMNT is what got me into it and oh my god, you cannot underestimate even the 1990s movies. They're all the GOAT!!

I’m honestly so thankful to Netflix, the Rise Movie is what the writers wanted the shows tone and story to be like, and Netflix let them have that when Viacom didn’t
they did mention that they'll probably not be watching the movie because of the amount of negativity they got when they finished Rise
Fans didn’t realize the series was over until literally the last episode aired and the people that worked Rise had to scramble to find new jobs)
You’ll see in the credits they do in the beginning of the episodes that the number of writers and storyboarders that worked on the episodes are like five to ten people which is not typical for any cartoon
Props to JJ Conway especially he is my hero
I just have so many fun facts about Rise that I never get to share sorry
I love when Boom looks at the camera after saying Ms Utrom looks like she has a big brain. Us turtles fans know.
Honestly amazed at his restraint at not saying anything, I could never
@@raye-raphaelsashay8521 Agreed. I would be all like “Hey guys! The name Utrom means-“
my autistic ass could never, i would've immediately paused and spoiled the whole thing 😭
@@gr1mreap3rz15 Same
No one’s pointed this out so I will… Splinter wasn’t just voiced by Jackie Chan. Even the way he fought and the pacing of his action sequence very much so pays homage to Jackie’s stuff.
The humor, reactions, and just the overall way he improvs w/ his environment. Perfect.
(At 7:32) normally the turtles are all the same age, but sometimes I judge their age by their personalities from oldest to youngest:
Leonardo: responsible and Daddy's boy (The Strategist)
Raphael: rude and cocky (The Brawns)
Donatello: smart and nerdy (The Brains)
Michelangelo: anxious and curious (The Wildcard)
i love they paused to read April's list of questions lmao
My favorite part has got to be the guy who helped Splinter at the very end get the antiserum to the Turtles is voiced by one of the two original creators of TMNT
Like a Stan Lee cameo!
Such a fun movie. Love the “no Diggity” sequence, probably my favorite part.
Love that too, it put a big smile on my face.😄
Can't wait til there are more clips on RUclips and I can just play that scene on loop
@@raye-raphaelsashay8521yesss !! It was my favorite scene!! Now there finally is a clip on RUclips of that badass scene!
That was this movie’s What’s Up Danger!
My first ever exposure to TMNT was the 2003 animated series I have loved them ever since.
(At 25:37) best fight choreography so far. And with Blackstreet singing "No Diggity" in the background. Especially how they parallel it.
Just gonna say it: Mondo and Mikey was the greatest bromance story of 2023
If you guys are going to watch the turtle movies don’t sleep on that rise movie.
Personally, I think Mutant Mayhem is the bestest of the TMNT movies
Plus I personally love the design and personality of April in this
agreed!!! i think it strikes a REALLY good balance w the characterisation etc. it felt like watching all my favourite bits of past tmnt iterations mashed together in a blender
Agreed. It’s up there
@@InfinitEthanAnimationsyeah. This April’s much better than I thought
I love how the turtles bring up pop culture references like Attack on Titan and Mark Ruffalo. That stuff had me rolling with laughter, lol.
39:59 THAT LOOK! I know exactly what you’re thinking and I’m so excited for them to show them in this world now that they’ve got this slight body horror vibe for the whole thing
So as an artist myself-
The director of the movie said they wanted this movie to look like a teenager drew it, obviously a nod to the T in TMNT standing for “Teenage” lol one of em atleast. I love this movie so much it 100% accomplishes what they wanted to do. I just love stylized animated movies like this and the spider verse movies!
Also they’re all voiced by teenage actors. Lol even if one of em sounds 7 I support them cuz I still sound and look 14 despite being a 23 yr old man 😂😂😂
Turtle binge honestly sounds like a cool idea potentially. Awesome to see Boom hyped like this with something else turtle related
Big yes to Batman vs TMNT that movie is perfection!!
(At 22:00) First, Donatello from 2012 was simping for April. Now, Leonardo from 2023 is simping for April?
Genuinely one of my absolute favorite versions of the turtles they just felt very energetic and fun in this
I love how the past iterations of the Turtles from the 2012 series to now really act like teenagers
Fun fact here: Leo’s voice actor is the same as Gumball’s
I knew I recognized one of the voices. It was either Gumball or Darwin that I heard.
I know
(At 23:19) Second cameo, April's high School is named after Kevin "Eastman"
My favorite part of the whole movie is that the weapons look more handmade from scraps rather than authentic pristine weapons.
@Personontheinterne Yeah, good for this show. Definitely gonna watch it. Just wish Rise could have had the same. They really got screwed over.
@@monster-enthusiast agreed
I really hope we get a sequel in 2024 ❤😊
26:45
"Fun" Fact: The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie is basically what the creators wanted the show to be like before the Corps made them heavily tone it down by making the show have less action and a lot more comedy.
Watch the Movie.
i found out leo is voiced by nicholas cantu who plays gumball from the amazing world of gumball
If your like this, your gonna LOVE Rise of the TMNT. It’s basically if Looney Tunes was a shonen battle anime it's so fire and it's funny asf.
they already reacted to season 1 :]
The did not in fact love Rise
They watched season 1 and then quit cuz they didn't like that they never trained.
@@monster-enthusiast they didn’t like a lot more than that
@evakazoo5790 that was the main thing tho. And the episodes being out of order
For everyone commenting on Donnie sounding younger than the other turtles, it was confirmed that Donnie was a late bloomer.
Also if y'all are interested in reacting to more TMNT stuff, I'd recommend the 2012 show.
The 2012 show was my childhood 😂
(At 35:40) Cajun. Leatherhead had a Cajun accent, in the 1987 classic. And he was a bully who said "I guarantee" in that accent.
Unlike his 2003 and 2012 counterparts who were nicer…with anger management issues, that could be suppressed.
Yeah 2003 and 2012 Leatherhead’s had anger issues 😂
My cousin worked on this movie! She animated the puke and the skeletons of the turtles when they were getting electrocuted
(At 33:40) Do they not know John Cena is Rocksteady?
That version of What's Going On actually is from the He Man meme (there's a skeletor voice in it lol), meaning they must've paid those guys for permission to use it, which is so funny to me
The way that the people of New York came to help the mutants, always reminds me of the Spider-Man movies. The first 2002 one, and the first Amazing one. When New Yorkers came to help Spider-Man stop Green Goblin, and get to the Lizard.
Facts 😂
(At 18:10) first cameo, Peter's last name "Laird" in neon lights.
(And at 54:32) second cameo, “are you okay” citizen/ Good Human is voiced by Kevin Eastman, the other creator of TMNT.
Man, I miss Rise as a whole. I really do hope the creators continue. 😢
Nah me too bro 😢
Though I am holding out hope for rise since I recently got into it, I am still excited what Mutant Mayhem has in store. Who knows? Maybe they’ll be able to have a crossover with the Rise turtles along with 2012 and 2003. That’d be pretty cool I think
Same
I love this movie sm, I saw it twice in theaters
Definitely one of my animated faves of 2023 so far.
Man, First Nimona, then Spider Verse 2 and now TMNT Mutant Mayhem aka as I call it “Into the Sewer-Verse!”
You guys are swinging and not pulling punches with the GOATED movies of the year!
Also Fun fact: 92% of the artists that worked on this movie worked on Sony Picture Animations’ The Mitchells vs the machines and the other 8 artists worked on the first 2 Spider-Verse movies!

it's already confirmed to get a sequel, and a cartoon iirc! hopefully they're just as good :D
Lol love Boom’s excitement and enthusiasm for TMNT! I’m not a cartoon fan, but I enjoyed this movie and seeing fans’ passion for it is so infectious!
I think what they're going for with the animation here is doodles in a school notebook
Since the question was asked-: I believe the art style was based on highschool sketches, I even think a few of the animators were teenagers tbh-. I might not be correct- but to my knowledge I at least know that was what the style was based on- not 100 percent sure about the animators tho-
Edit: Who else cried during the first time they saw the movie-? T-T
If you start reacting to TMNT I suggest the 2012 show its one of the best adaptation shows
I agree
I love how authentic and relatable this movie feels to teenagers in real life and our current society as a whole
Superfly's "One Winged Angel" moment is more hideous when you think about it. He didn't just force a fusion with those animals, they basically melted into his body and were in complete agony.

(At 2:30) Oh yeah, there's always one thing that stood out about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animations characters…
Aside from the supporting characters like April, Casey, Irma, Karai, and maybe Bishop all the background characters (humans or civilians) look… really *BAD* if not ugly.
The ones from 2003, I can say looked more decent.
The original turtle never had the letters on the belt. That only came later with the tv show. They do throw a lot of easter eggs in this movie that I love.
They were trying to make the animation shoreline a teenager's scrap book

(At 30:55) And do they also know that's the Ant-Man, Paul Rudd?
The director initially wanted to be put the Shredder in the movie but he wanted to introduce him like the joker was introduced in dark knight 😂🦇
I’m fine with that
One thing I love that not a lot of people catch is Splinter's fight is literally a whole Jackie Chan style fight. Made that whole scene even better!
“She looks like she has a big brain. 🙂”
I see you
Would anyone like to see the 2003 Ninja Turtles tv show on here?
YES PLEASE! That was the show I grew up on and would love to see them watch it

Yeah overall I liked this movie wasn't a fan of the art style but loved how they are actually the "TEENAGE" mutant ninja turtles in this version. I think this is a first as all other adaptations I've seen they feel more like young to full blown adults
Nah the artstyle was tuff. Very comic book esque and the cel shading rlly brought the characters to life
You know, Normal Nate is voiced by David Faustino.
Honestly give me an open world TMNT game and Im sold
The artstyle is pretty much the same as teenagers drawing from hightschool, this movie is animated in a way that looks like it’s animated by teenagers.
(At 41:55) Splinter: You done fucked up.
The art style is middle school doodling , something that I mastered
You guys gotta finish Rise man. Especially the awesome Netflix movie!
Apparently they tried to make the art style look like a sketchbook

i love the character design in this movie! the humans just look horrendous, but it works because it helps illustrate that in this story, they're the monsters. April, a perfectly average girl, is lovely in comparison because she has a good heart, and can be trusted.
Agreed
I love seeing people watch and enjoy things I love it genuinely makes me so happy
I ate gummy nerds in the theater when I watched this movie. Watching this reaction I'm eating sour gummy bears.
