One of the best TMNT adaptations. The animation, the characters, the fight choreography, and the fact that they were voiced by actual teenagers are all awesome, and I love how they really focused on the turtles and Splinter as a family over them as ninjas.
Honestly agreed. I went into this movie not expecting anything good and walked out thoroughly happy along with looking forward to a second film in a couple hundred years
It's teenage mutant ninja. Not teenage mutant Family This movie sucked the turtle. Steel groceries Splinter hates humans. And they learn their ninja skills by watching movies. Not my turtles
Facts. The scene where they were yelling, “YERRR” & “WE OUTSIDE”, got big laughs from the audience at my showing. Looking forward to both the sequel and the tv series that will bridge the gap between the two.
that "no diggity" montage is legit my favorite scene in any tmnt movie of all time. everything about it is completely flawless and I would kill to get my hands on those storyboards
I loved this movie. My favorite part is how real world popular culture is part of the turtle's universe. Leonardo saying he would love to have champagne brunch with Tom Brady had me laughing and smiling.
Shout out to the 2012 series. A lot of people grew up with ‘87 and ‘03 but that 2012 series was written by people who grew up loving the turtles and it shows. It’s a perfect blend of the 1990 movie, the 80’s cartoon and the IDW comic. Strong recommend.
Their first couple takes were stiff so they got them in the room together and Rogen said "THAT is the vibe I want". And they allowed them to not only record together but sometimes say "X is the goal of the scene" so they could improv. It's insane.
Had a great time with this movie. Really recommend you guys check out the 2003 TMNT animated series. It was co-created by Peter Laird who was the co-creator of the TMNT comics and was one of my favourite shows growing up. It takes much inspiration from the original TMNT comics which had a much darker tone and even adapts a lot of the pages and scenes from the comics.
2003 series was great and 2012 series was even better. They both serve a different function: 2003 twists up the Mirage Comics story with some new and surprising origins while 2012 is like a super mix of the 1990 movie/87 cartoon/IDW comics.
this film was so freaking cool omd. pure amazement for 1hr and 40 mins - i loved every second of it and it’s easily one of my favourite movies of the summer and overall, the best TMNT movie in my opinion. im a 16 year old kid but i imagine younger me would have had a massive blast as well
This might be my favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to date, I just loved everything about this movie, the visuals the soundtrack, and the stellar and unique animation, and I especially love these new takes on the characters and how the turtles truly act and felt like young teenage up and coming heroes that just want to live their lives the way they want to its truly beautiful how for once in TMNT media that are actually accepted by humanity very early on their careers. Can't wait for the sequel with Shredder and the confirmed tv show and videogame this take on the Turtles is getting.
Yes, when I went to see the film in theaters they showed us a behind the scenes video and Seth Rogen said he had the 4 teens record their lines in the same booth so they would naturally go off each other and interrupt one another as if they were in the same room hanging out.
In an interview Seth Rogen said they initially had the turtles voice actors doing their lines individually but he heard them when they were hanging out between takes and noticed they sounded a lot more natural with their banter all together so from then on he decided to have them record as a group.
a TMNT movie voiced by actual teenagers one of the best animated films of 2023, the competition at the Oscars looking really good for animation next year!
Saw it in theaters twice it was sooo good!. The moment that took it to the next level for me was the slow mo montage fight scene with no diggity playing. It was soooo cool to see that in theaters!. And I loved the turn of events with all the characters and the dreadful music at the end. Such a great movie!!!
Happy belated birthday Greg!! I was hoping for this reaction! As a fan of the Turtles since I was a kid, this is everything I have always wanted from a Turtles movie. I saw it twice in theaters. Love the animation, the comedy and the story.
I'm surprised you guys haven't been to watch on the big screen ! If it still plays in a theater around you, I really recommend you to go rewatch it there, it's a movie that very much deserves to be seen (and heard, my goodness, this score and OST is immaculate !) on a big screen. It's easily the best TMNT anything I've ever seen in my life both in terms of visual style, animation, soundtrack, fun, and characters depictions (and I'm old enough to have seen the 80's cartoon) ! Gotta love that Seth Rogen called his old voice acting pal Jackie from the Kung Fu Panda days, and ACTUALLY gave him an important character this time, not just 3 lines per movie as a glorified cameo (yes, looking at you, Monkey). Love all the easter eggs to Jackie's career, the movie montage on how they learned to fight with a few shots of him, the Mikey running on top of a car in the garage (if you're wondering, it's in the movie Twin dragons, one of Jackie's bests), the car flip that ejects everyone on the drivers seat (Police Story), and the actual Splinter fight with Jackie's style were just chef's kiss !
Personally this my fav TMNT movie all the themes were shown perfectly and the art style omg !!!! believe it or not the art style reminds me so much of my teenage school life because I use to draw sketches all the time in my books😂
This was the best movie Ive seen all year. I saw it three times, twice in 3D and it was worth every penny. I think the best part of seeing it in theaters was gettin to hear the reactions of the kids in the theater 😂 they were having a blast, it was so cute 🥺
I FUCKING LOVED THIS MOVIE😭😭🥹 I even laughed with the kids in the theater &’ smiled throughout the whole movie😭 the fact they are actually kids is heartwarming and the sequel boutta be insane🤘🏼🔥
Gonna make this short as someone who had just seen this movie a second time today: Mutant Mayhem is probably my favorite version of the TMNT, mainly because this is the version that brings light to the "teenage" aspect of the turtles, something that most versions, even the Prime/Mirage version, didn't do so well. The fact that they gave them voice actors who also happen to be teenagers makes it all the more life-like and, I also love the action, the characters and of course the animation. That's all I got about that.
The turtles being accepted is actually such a goated idea that I hadn't even considered. An old story can always be a memorable one so I was honestly expecting the same story. But this was cool
I went to see this movie with 3 of my best friends and we were having a blast. It was so good to finally have the turtles actually be played by teenagers and having them improv most of there dialogue was the best decision they made. I can't wait for when the sequel drops in like maybe 2-3 years and see where they can possibly take this story.
This may have been pointed out already, but the guy who helps Splinter towards the end is TMNT Co-Creator Kevin Eastman. A Stan Lee like cameo! Loved this movie.
I grew up with the original Turtles-cartoon from the late 80s, and that Cynthia-character wears an outfit that immediately reminded me of Krang's original android-body from that cartoon. The fact that her last name is Utrom just reinforced that, so yeah, i wouldn't be surprised at all if Krang was somehow pulling her strings one way or another. And overall this might be my favorite interpretation of the Turtles so far, as far as shows and movies go. And that "No diggity"-montage is one of my favorite sequences from any animated movie. It's up there with Miles' "Leap of Faith"-scene from Into the Spider-Verse.
Ninja Rap won me over 🤩 As well as the Anime Easter egg, and the Sam Raimi Spider-Man vibes in the ending 🤣🤣 But yeah, Animation, Music, writing, designs, everything is amazing 😆😆😆
Secret of the Ooze use to always be my favorite followed closely by the majority of everyone’s favorite…the original movie… But after seeing this one…it has officially become my favorite one…
I don’t think people realize the animated series ran forever followed by others that ran from the 80s all the way to 2020. There are several tv movie animated films that tie in with the animated series also one where alternate reality turtles team up . Being the same drawn designs from both tv series. Pretty cool . The last series wasn’t the greatest but it had a Netflix movie that wrapped it up . Should look into watching those too if you haven’t already👍
It's a really awesome addition to really awesome franchise~ Easily hopped in my top favorite versions of tmnt. Can't wait to see what they are cooking up for us when the new series starts
I have a TON of nostalgia for the foam suit TMNT movies of the 90s and the first CGI turtles movie from the mid 2ks but this is by far the best TMNT movie to date
34:59 it's a major missed opportunity for Splinter to squint his eyes saying "The rat's name was Remy, the dish WAS CALLED RATATOUILLE!!!" before laying the beat down on them.
I gotta say, getting teenagers to play TMNT is a smart choice. My favorite fact is that Leo’s voice actor plays Gumball from Amazing World of Gumball which is ironic cause they’re both blue. Same thing happened in Rise show that Leo was played by Ben Schwartz who is also Sonic the Hedgehog from the movies.
I was never a big TMNT fan, but this shocked the shit out of me. It was so funny, well written, heartfelt, genuine, and amazingly animated. The score and casting rocked too.
Fun fact: *Mrbeast* is in the movie. He appears at the part where the turtles first leave the sewer and just assumes that splinter is a guy in a mickey mouse costume (His character also has the mrbeast logo on his shirt)
This movie is incredible! I love how the turtles are voiced by actual teenagers, I like the animation, I like the new April, The fights, I like how there’s no shredder, And the soundtrack is also pretty cool!

Not a huge TMNT fan but was really surprised by the direction of this movie. I knew very little about it but the animation style and story direction was great. I love how quite a few movies that have established series are really taking the chance to separate themselves from the rest instead of rehashing the same ideas. Like this or the puss in boots movie, they are their own thing, their own style, humor, origin, etc.
It's so funny that the fact that splinters fear actually came true. The organization really milked them was so funny 😂 Also that a clever writing and a funny call back at the same time.
idk if anyone has said this but Fun Fact: The new yorker who offers splinter a hand is voiced by one of the original creators of the turtles!! Loved this reaction
I loved this movie so much. Was expexting the same recycled turtle story with different graphics. All the voice acting. TMNT actually sounding like TEENS/kids. The comedy. The MUSIC. The action... everything was top notch and fresh.
I thought there was a ninja aspect to the movie? Splinter trains to those old martial arts movies and shows to protect his sons and the trains them in what he learns. Splinter basically does the same thing in the og 90's movie, but as a rat before he gets oozed.
I love that you guys are watching more of these insane movies at home cuz it’s the best watching these movies with you guys! ❤❤❤❤ was sad when zero edition went down and I thought I lost my chance to get my reel rejects swag. But let’s gooooo
growing up i never understood the appeal of TMNT i thought it was a “boys show” but this movie captured the relatability of them really well, it really made me realize why people love the turtles
I Immediately knew once I saw the Spidermanverse esque style animation, It was going to be exactly like how I thought it would be. Absolutely Amazing, Animation, colors, transition, story, music. Mwah
Earlier in development Super fly was going to be Stockman, which is why the toy of Super fly has clothes like Stockmans from the beginning. But they decided to make them separate so the story could be fresh.
I'm not gonna lie I just recently subscribed to ur channel but when I watch ur videos it helps me feel sometimes I don't understand my emotions but I feel like I'm watching the movies with u guys and it helps me ebin if it's just a lil bit

from what i heard the whole bacon and cheese scene was improv!
This movie was incredible in my opinion. I bought it for family movie night with my 8 year old and was just really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
I love how very much they were TEENAGERS. This was a perfect adaptation to me. Also this should always be how April is depicted lol

The kickass Nine Inch Nails score is because Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross scored this. 🤘
I love these three people reactions. I would LOVE to see more ❤
The score is done by NIN’s Trent Reznor!
It's so funny that the fact that splinters fear actually came true. The organization really milked them was so funny 😂
Also that a clever writing and a funny call back at the same time.
idk if anyone has said this but Fun Fact: The new yorker who offers splinter a hand is voiced by one of the original creators of the turtles!! Loved this reaction
The voice work was top notch. Having the kids in the same booth worked wonders.
I honestly thought mondo gecko was voiced by andy samberg. Great voice work by paul rudd 😂😂
22:46 Aweeeee yeah
"They really Cronenberg'd him." I nearly spat out my taco, John.
growing up i never understood the appeal of TMNT i thought it was a “boys show” but this movie captured the relatability of them really well, it really made me realize why people love the turtles
when you stand for what you believe in and find the strength to do what's right that turtle power lmao
I Immediately knew once I saw the Spidermanverse esque style animation, It was going to be exactly like how I thought it would be.
Absolutely Amazing, Animation, colors, transition, story, music. Mwah
Absolutely loved the montage of them getting in their vigilante style element👌👌👌
Bruh im sitting here smokin a blunt drinkin coffee and THIS HOLY GOODNESS GETS UPLOADED? W
Seth Rogen fully understood the assignment.
One of the best TMNT films. Fun, Visually Stunning And Chan And Cube crushed it. Can't wait for the show and sequel. Hope to get Casey In The Show.
6:41...I think you mean critters bro. 🤣🤣🤣
I didn’t think that these turtles would get a full-fledged sequel with such a legendary villain as Shredder!
