As a crocheter I was so confused but I still managed to overcome that frustration of it not looking good, it was like re learning crochet again just way more complicated, great tutorial tho! 🩵🩵🩵
I was a knitter as a kid and the switch to crochet was... A process 😂... after years of crochet I've completely forgotten everything about knitting and your video has really helped
Wow! I've been struggling with learning to knit. I've looked at numerous videos, bought a kit, bought two books. Nothing was clicking. Your video is the best I have seen! It makes it so easy I can't believe it. Thank you so much.
Ive been crocheting for 3yrs and finally worked up the courage to learn knitting. Your cast on is the easiest I've seen! Others look so complicated like twisty finger gymnastics 😂
As a Crocheter this was very easy to learn, and satisfying as well, since the other tutorials were so confusing and complicated. I also love how you don't waste time talking about your family and sponsors etc., this didn't need many items as well. Love the tutorial
Not sure why this works, but as a crocheter who has tried many times to knit (all unsuccessfully), this just clicked! It looks kinda wonky, but I've got ten rows already, and it's really starting to look like knitting, LOL. Thank you for making this so easy!!!!
Yes same here! I've tried to learn knitting many times, but then I learned crocheting instead. Now when I've crocheted for a few years it just clicked like you said!
THIS TUTORIAL IS SO UNDERRATED 🤩 I just started a few minutes ago and I already found out how to cast on! Your instructions are so clear and straightforward! You just earned a new sub 💕
I've been struggling!! struggling with knitting ever since i bought a pack of knitting needles last year and decided to put knitting off and focus on something im good at already which is crochet. I think the reason why this tutorial just clicked is because you explained the steps the way a crocheter would?? does that make sense lol. Thank you for this youre a life saver!! Kudos to you Xx
Best demonstration of the casting on and first row process… I have always been frustrated with casting on and how tight it is to work the first row off the needle. You made it simple.
I was trying to learn knitting since so long but always failed and thought it is not my cup of tea. But after trying from many video n short i found this n within few mins i learned.. i dont know what it is but Thank you sooo much❤️ I am a tarot reader n if in case you ever feel to take a reading plz let me know. I will do it for free for you❤️❤️❤️
Since I hated purling I always hated to the point that I used to think methods to only do circular knitting to avoid purling and one day I said to myself why I dont make small hooked tip to bamboo sticks that I bought from the store so I did a soft neck to them with sandpapering after shaping the tips with a knife. The result is easy purling with continental holding no need to do cumbersome portuguese knitting which causes irritation to my neck and feels like trapped in a machine :) and causes you sweat in hot weathers. No wrist pain with hook tips since the hooks pull the yarn and the angle of pulling the yarn is not important anymore. I am surprised why the general knitting community is so unaware of this and nobody mentions about it rather people share so so many videos on how to purl easy way with the regular dpns or circulars.
I'm a crocheter and this was really helpful bc I wanted to learn how to knit and know I know how to knit and crochet and I really want to make a scarf of I have enough yarn (I ran out)
Omg finally i can do cast on and knit stich😭 As a crocheter for 1 year, and try to upgrade to knitting, its sooo hard. I was stop learn several months because the knit stich it's... Make my arm tremors😂 Actually i learned it with the wrong size of knitting needle. 4 mm for beginners 😂 Now i use 6 mm. I can do knit stich easily now
Hi, 🤗, Don't forget the Scissors ✂️, in your Assesses (Knitting Tools). 🆗👍.. Happy Knitting on Sunday, too. Have a Blessed Sunday, also. 👋, Sincerely, Elsa R. 63 yrs. young/old woman. For those who are already comfortable with crochet and used to tensioning the yarn in your left hand, you may want to give continental style knitting a try. The style demonstrated here is English style knitting, which I did for the first 28 years of my knitting life. But the benefit of learning continental style, especially for someone who is used to the yarn being held on the left hand side, is that it is quicker than knitting in the English style.
Yes! Continental makes much more sense if you are a crocheter. Then it’s more like crochet but you just hold the left stitch (instead of the work when crocheting)
Great question! I will post a tutorial on casting off in the coming weeks but just look for a tutorial on “casting off” or “binding off” in the meantime.
When I was little like in 4th grade I learned to crochet. Then I never done it again, after some years I am learning to knit, I have no idea why knitting for me is easier then crocheting. Many people say crochet is easier then knitting. Oh well.
Just preference. Circular is only needed when knitting something large but I like that you can’t lose one needle (which is something that would happen to me a lot).
I just can’t understand how you keep the knit onto the stitches without slipping off the needle? No hooks! Also casting on confounds me and if I make a mistake I’m lost! I also knit way too tight! But I like the fabric it makes so I will try
Hmm it’s probably too tight. You could also check out my Easiest Slip Knot tutorial. Maybe you’ve done something funky and another technique would be helpful ruclips.net/video/wjJscVtE8q8/видео.htmlsi=M0I5uj3Igp25ybuH
You should have pointed out that this is for left handed people! As normally when when knitting you hold the needle with all the stitches in your right hand and work them onto the needle in the left!!
thanks for the video! could you hold the working yarn like you hold it (wrapped around your left index finger) and go with the right needle behind the yarn and pull it trough? because its not really a smooth process when you stop, place the right needle in your left hand just to get the yarn over the needle - crocheting is such a smooth movement and i thought the same goes for knitting i tried it as i described it and it seems like the pattern is the same but all tutorials use your techniq so i am confused xD
i’ve been crocheting off and on since i was 14-15 (i’m 27) and now i’m finally taking on the ever so intimidating art of knitting 🧶 wish me luck guys 😂😂 (also if anyone knows what brand of yarn that is.. it looks soo nice) 😊
As a crocheter I was so confused but I still managed to overcome that frustration of it not looking good, it was like re learning crochet again just way more complicated, great tutorial tho! 🩵🩵🩵

Yeah saves yarn !
From a crocheter to now learning knitting. This video is so underrated and it is super easy to learn from your explanation. Thank you!
Thank you for explain this so well. No distracting music just a calm voice. I can finally try knitting ❤
Omg so much easier from one true crocheter to another!!!!
So glad to hear 💕💕💕

I’m so glad it was helpful 💕
I tried holding my yarn the same way I do when crocheting and it actually made it way easier!
thank you! this is the only knitting tutorial that made sense, it’s much easier than i expected!

I cannot believe you just taught me how to knit! ❤😮
This was so easy to follow. Thank you!!
Ding ding ding!! This finally makes sense! THANK YOU!!!

I bet jumping up that needle size really helped!
I’m following you on ALL the platforms and telling everyone I know about you! 0:48
So kind! 💕 Thank you!!

Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
thanks for this i was confused on when sometimes i cast on it worked and sometimes it didnt
Just wanted to learn knitting gave me a mental breakdown
Same sis it's making me crazy
Please could you do a tutorial on the pearl stitch as you mentioned here please Thankyou! Very helpful video
Great suggestion!
I know how to knit but I keep forgetting how to do it so I have to come back to a video every year
I know you are not alone 😂 I hope this was helpful!
I GOT ITTTT YAYYYY
Good job!!!!
Got the casting down in like two seconds, currently trying to figure out the knit stitch
Back then when I was 9 I learned knitting first then crochet but I forgot allot of knitting when I was ten
thanks you
Okaaaay this is soo helpful thank you ❤
But how do you get it off the needle ?
Great question! I will post a tutorial on casting off in the coming weeks but just look for a tutorial on “casting off” or “binding off” in the meantime.
What's the name of the yarn you're using please, love the color
It’s The One Merino by Wool and The Gang! My favorite yarn for knitting.
What is this stitch called?? I love it and it was so fun to learn!!
Garter!
The garter is just all knits, which is what I did here
@@modern_made thank youuu sooo muchhhh!!
How to do cape
When I was little like in 4th grade I learned to crochet. Then I never done it again, after some years I am learning to knit, I have no idea why knitting for me is easier then crocheting. Many people say crochet is easier then knitting. Oh well.
May I know the size of needle hook?
is it easier to knit with straight needles or with circular needles as a beginner?
Just preference. Circular is only needed when knitting something large but I like that you can’t lose one needle (which is something that would happen to me a lot).
My cast ons keep on unraveling any tips on tightening cast ons???
I just can’t understand how you keep the knit onto the stitches without slipping off the needle? No hooks! Also casting on confounds me and if I make a mistake I’m lost! I also knit way too tight! But I like the fabric it makes so I will try
idk why but theres a long thread between my needles and the more i make stitched the longer it gets!!!
Can I use a metal scope needle 🪡 to knit 🧶
If you try let me know how it goes 😂
1:47 we gotta do that with working yarn or tail? Tail right?
No, its the working yarn not the tail
Working yarn!
3:24 I watched it over and over again and I understood what should I do but I just can't do it myself. It's so annoying.😊
nameof the yarn please
I was expecting continental not English knitting as that is what is more natural to crocheters as most of us use our right hand for tension
I can't seem to get the last stitch (the slipknot) to work like the rest of the stitches
I’m actually not left handed!
thanks for the video! could you hold the working yarn like you hold it (wrapped around your left index finger) and go with the right needle behind the yarn and pull it trough? because its not really a smooth process when you stop, place the right needle in your left hand just to get the yarn over the needle - crocheting is such a smooth movement and i thought the same goes for knitting
i tried it as i described it and it seems like the pattern is the same but all tutorials use your techniq so i am confused xD
Absolutely! Thats a common technique but a lot of people struggle with not dropping their stitches. If it works for you all the more power to you!
@@modern_made thanks for answering!
I give up this is too hard cause it's too fast I even went back but didn't work
Imy needles are pencils
mine are chopsticks 😭
I can't do to 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭(i try so harde)
Yeah im giving up on trying to find a new hobby lmao
This is so slow…. We know how to crochet so obviously know how to do a slip knot
i’ve been crocheting off and on since i was 14-15 (i’m 27) and now i’m finally taking on the ever so intimidating art of knitting 🧶 wish me luck guys 😂😂 (also if anyone knows what brand of yarn that is.. it looks soo nice) 😊
All the luck to you 🍀 🍀🍀✨ It’s The One Merino by Wool And The Gang. It is a very nice yarn!
BAHAHA THATS SO MIND BLOWING IM LAUGHING AT ME
as a former crocheter, i just cant get this its like my tension is always tight but i dont understand why 🥲
Tension being super tight is so common with beginners for both crochet and knitting! Try a larger needle size and know that practice makes perfect
@@modern_made ah that makes sense thank you for the tip!!
OMG I saw your tiktoks!!! Ive never crocheted ever before or knitted! Im currently on my 3rd row!! You made this so easy thank you!!
Omg thank you! I’m glad you’re having fun!!!
