i want to knit so badly but the purl stitch is the bane of my existence 😭 i’m gonna try again but goodness, it’s a pain. this gave me a bit more motivation to go at it again
I recently started knitting to cope with my mom's and sister's passing and this video is a great help for me to learn more.. thank you for making this!
I only know how to crochet but I ABSOLUTELY love the finished look of knitted pieces. Your tutorials have been really helpful so far, so I hope I'll be able to finally learn how to knit. Tysm ikoxun!!
I watched this video religiously, although I've been knitting for 20 years. I learned from my mom and from Soviet books and was sooooo lost with terms in English, but it turned out there're much more things new to me (casting methods are completely different from what I've learned). Your video was just perfect for me!
pay attention when buying your interchangeable needle set! i bought my first set as a beginner, and i didnt know what to look for. they ends of the needles, where they're supposed to connect to the cables, flared instead of getting smaller, making them unusable. its pretty obvious to a knitter who knows their stuff, but watch out for that!
This is super complete, thank you so much for sharing this! Yarn for me is already expensive so free resources are really appreciated, and your work is really priceless, you're so kind and generous, this is pure gold!💖
One of the most underrated videos on youtube!!! Seriously. I have a question- if you haven't done so yet, would you consider making a video with a guide on MANY different methods of casting on and binding off, with swatches and explanations on when and where to use them? Not knowing how choose these when and where, along with patterns not telling you which ones to use was the ultimate reason I drifted away from knitting many years ago
i’m just in the beginning of my crochet era but trust me i have flagged this video bc i want to learn to knit too! your videos have been SO inspiring and so helpful Mija! sending you lots of good vibes for the summer❤
OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDS ❤❤❤you are one of my absolute fav crocheter/knitter ive been planning on learning to knit now i can be sure that i have the best teacher to teach me 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Generally a good tutorial and nice presentation (I really like your videos), but there a two things that appear to me overly complicated or counter intuitive. 1. Slipknot. Probably the very first thing I learned in my school handwork lesson, was how to make a slipknot: Take some yarn in your left (or right if your left-handed) hand and hold the tail-end with your little- and your ringfinger. Next wrap the yarn around your index- and middlefinger. Lastly slip with one or two fingers of your other hand into the loop, you just created, and pull the yarn, which should lay on the back of your hand, through the loop. 2. Continental Method. I must say, I didn't knew, that there were two methods, but the method I use seems to be called "continental". My problem is, that it seem rather counter intuitive to wrap the yarn around the needle, when you can instead easily pull the yarn with the needle, to create a loop. Keep in mind: Some things are personal preference, some are cultural difference and others just how we learned/got taught things. Just wanted to add my two cents to the conversation. ;)
yes you can def do it with straight needles! the only thing you can’t do is knit it seamlessly, you’ll just had to knit the panels separately and then sew it together (but this is what i do with circular needles anyways)
I unfortunately only have metal needles, but it's not my biggest problem. It's the tension always gets too tight and I don't know how to fix it. (Typing this at the beginning of the video)
you can! you would just have to do two separate panels . so do a front panel and then a back panel, then stitch them together . and for the sleeves, you’ll have to put one side of the stitches onto a separate needle or long piece of yarn so you can hold it out the way while you work on another sleeve if that makes sense :)
Thank you! You are apart of my crochet journey, and now if I choose to knit then I know I have a good resource. You are a good teacher, and I really wish there was more we could do to send our appreciation. Never stop creating. The way you communicate is very inspiring and understandable. Anyway, ❤ u and all u do
Damn, thank you a lot! It was my 2024 goal to learn how to knit, but i never had the motivation to watch 50 different, long tutorials. This helps so much!!! ❤
More facts on yarn types!! Please make educated choices when going into knitting, as you don’t want to waste time and your precious hand health acrylic!!! It doesn’t have much memory or elasticity so garments may stretch out, block poorly, and are sensitive to “dying”- if you choose acrylic bc of softness, superwash wool might be a slightly better alternative (though still not a perfect substitute) Cotton, bamboo, linen (AKA Plant fibers) stretch out, don’t have elasticity, and may cause hand fatigue due to their fiber structures. They tend to hang more and drape causing sagging at cuffs, necklines, etc over time. Best when paired with some kind of animal or synthetic for longevity
thank you so so much!! i learned how to knit in december but i'm still so confused with the stitches, cast off, etc, so i'll be watching this religiously
Yes omg, I learned how to do the basic knit stitch last month and I wanted to experiment with other stitches. Your ideas are so inspiring and so is your hardwork❤
I keep coming back to this video again and again! It’s honestly so so well put together! I am a crocheter and you’re the reason why I know how to knit basic panels (for the moment) thank you for teaching me a new hobby 🥹
Hello I watch and love all your videos Can you saw us how to make a flat panel (sentro)like you did in the tube mode pls Sorry if my English are horrible 🙃I'm from Greece
How do you keep the stitches so loose, my stitches tend to get too tight, I'm still learning, I have learned so much from watching your knitting tutorials, keep them coming.
it just takes time :) you can try to remember to work loosely as you knit but sometimes you’ll forget and go back to knitting tightly, but just try to keep it in mind not to squeeze everything so tight and eventually you’ll get used to knitting that way
this tutorial is literally like the best one ever it literally answers all my wuestions and i thought id have to go to in person classes because i was too confused before watching this.....

i’m so terribly sorry about your huge loss , im glad this could help even if it’s a tiny bit ❤️
I'm an advanced knitter and I still gave this a watch because you aesthetic is so comfy! Incredibly informative video for beginners! Great work.

This is perfect, I just started knitting four days ago and have been rewatching all your videos as motivation 😂❤
As a left handed knitting in the way of the right-handed, trying to learn the continental method set the two sides of my brain at war lmao
I'm so glad you made this tutorial for beginner knitting, I have been trying to pick up knitting again, keep up the good work, you are so gifted.
Ikoxun!! I desperately needed this video to follow along.. thanks a whole lot 😭😭☁️

I already knew how to knit but I didn't knit for years and sort of forgot how to do it. I got some great practice with this tutorial

Yas I have been wanting to learn to Knit, crochet came easy for me but my hands never want to work when I have attempted to knit.
большое спасибо за отличное видео! всё доступно и понятно, даже с моим неидеальным английским 😅

Can you make a video on how to do knit thumbholes on a sleeve for cardigan and shirt please
Thank you so much! I desire to knit 🎉
may you do the same thing for crochet? it would be very helpful too 💞
this is awesome!!!
Can I knit a cardigan when straight needles, or do I need circular needles. I want to make something similar to her Gwen(spiderman) cardigan
yes you can def do it with straight needles! the only thing you can’t do is knit it seamlessly, you’ll just had to knit the panels separately and then sew it together (but this is what i do with circular needles anyways)
Could anyone recommend me a more in-depth tutorial on flat color work? I want to knit a scarf, but color work is the death of me 🫠
I unfortunately only have metal needles, but it's not my biggest problem. It's the tension always gets too tight and I don't know how to fix it.
(Typing this at the beginning of the video)
Knit clothes seem so much more comfortable than crochet, but so much more complicated tho
hiii from brazil, i'm a beginner, can you teach how to knit some ghibli character in a vest or something? i love your content bjss
Can I knit a bridgerton top with the needles that are not together
you can! you would just have to do two separate panels . so do a front panel and then a back panel, then stitch them together . and for the sleeves, you’ll have to put one side of the stitches onto a separate needle or long piece of yarn so you can hold it out the way while you work on another sleeve if that makes sense :)
