I had the tumblers replaced and put the same numbered tumblers back In and didn't have to make a new key thank goodness 😊

Hi I have a 2007 sierra sle 1500 and they key is worn out and wont turn. I called a local parts supplier and they said that you need to do the reprogramming etc, why can't I just replace the cylinder with a new key? Great video and thanks.

I had to remve everything In this video to replace the shift controller. If the truck does not start after you are done but the lights all power on you have the gears and inner ignition not lined up. Make sure it all goes back together.

If it is bad you will know by two things (from personal experience.) One: when you exit the vehicle with the key in hand the key reminder dings. Two: the remote start wont work. Lights will blink but not start the vehicle. As said this is from personal experience. 2014 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with remote start.

If I take the old transponder ring down and put it all back together. It should still recognize my old key correct? Im afraid to take it off and wipe out the program

Where he talks about matching up the gear will not work. 2:15 It sounds right but DO NOT DO THIS. Befor removing the ignition switch, reinstall the lock cylinder The gear is spring loaded and it must be all the way over which you can not do once you remove the switch.. Another video I have seen says to put the lock back in and move it before removing the switch.. I did it his way and now it will not start. The key will not rotate enough to send power to start the engine. If anyone knows how to make it work his way. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
