This worked great! This problem was no easy to figure out! Parts: Ignition switch: amzn.to/3ZyQZ3z Tools: Multimeter: amzn.to/3LA1mQH Soldering Iron: amzn.to/427wiNF Solder: amzn.to/3FjYkvT Heatshrink: amzn.to/3mLlXXL As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
I was thinking just connect the 2 wires together. But then it would have the key in ignition buzzer with door open if the vehicle has one. I cant remember if mine ever had that or not.
The part number for my 2006 Tahoe is Dorman 924-715, this ignition switch doesn't come with the plastic part you replaced, do you think this is sold separately?
The switch is impossible to find unless you cut one at a junkyard. There is a doorman part with the switch build on to it for the newer models. I was going to cut it off and splice it on, but I found this at the junkyard.
random question, 03 avalanche, switched out driver window/lock/side view mirror switches. Now door courtesy light stays on all the time. Had to unplug light to prevent battery drain.
Isn't there an airbag in the steering wheel? All the manuals say disconnect the battery for a few minutes. You had it powered. Any tips to keep that bag from popping in your face?
They aren't as easy to deploy as you've been convinced. As long as you aren't powering up wires that aught not be powered up, with something like a power probe, you'll be alright.

Question i may have missed you say... With the key in ig ition pid staying at no... Did that create a no start? (No crank)
This button doesn't effect the starting. It's mainly for the door chime and to tell the computer the key is in.
I think this cable does my make your truck not start
2003 suburban PRND321 light stays on and draining battery any idea how to fix it?
Das Problem habe ich auch. Im Zündschlossgehäuse klemmt irgendwas ? Hast du dein Problem gelöst ?
@joseazurita8830 Were you able to figure out why that was happening? I have the same issue
What brand /type of scan tool did you use for this diagnosis and what year type is the vehicle...
