You know how in Starship Troopers every 10000th round in training is a live one to keep the soldiers sharp? Make every 10th attack a crit.

In theory, it's supposed to counter engis in MvM. But in reality anyone who has seen how they work more than twice can see they're more of an anti-afk tool, or an inconvenience, rather than what it's intended to do. They only become a problem if you have an M2-happy Pyro on your team.

Outside of killing brain dead Engineers, Sentry Busters are designed to flush out a fortified location, aka forcing the Engineer to pack up his gun and move away, thus allowing the other bots the opportunity to push through that gap in the defense.
It's not the Buster that kill the Engineer, it's the 50 crit rockets flying toward him as he carry the Sentry that does it.
I always like it when people talk about sentry busters
I personally request that at any point with no warning in your server this plugin gets reenabled and then disabled the next round
I request that it's rare enough that people don't suspect it isn't a one time thing

Yeah I think this shows how well balance TF2 is despite some flaws(i.e capture the flag being too defense friendly) so any change that one side is really going to have advantage.

I think this may have actually worked out if it hadn't spawned so many busters. Like, say, three or five, or even just one. At that point it's less about creating total chaos than creating some breathing room for the team to get back on their feet.

If gives Attackers a free capture or push in most cases. Defenders are forced to flee.
While if you script is flipped it doesn't really help since Defense had their stuff set up and lost for this to happen.

pretty much. The behemoths in that game also proved to be a mostly innefective tool that didn't really do much besides drag games out and turn what was a 30 minute imbalanced stomp into a 40 minute imbalanced stomp with a 10 minute raid boss half way through.

I was here for this, on a match of badwater. During a livestream where he didn’t say anything about the experiment. It was a little scary when the busters first spawned, I still hear the beeping.
Honestly, I feel like a gamemode that has both teams trying to maintain a robot factory to destroy the enemy team's base, while having to defend from both the enemy team itself and their own robots would be _real_ cool.

Blue has an mvm tank that automatically moves down the track. Once destroyed, blue team will then get a trickle of players becoming giant blue robots with payload bombs

The problem i see with busters is the smoke that obscures everything and the...utter chaos too much of it because if you dodge your buster you might get killed by someone else's buster alongside 3/4 of the team which as you said yourself might genuinely change the tide of the game asap.
The fix would be to spawn 1 buster every 3-4 players to still cause chaos but not instantly overwhelm the field
Yea, obviously the punished team is going to lose the next fight or two if you suddenly overwhelm them with high damage explosions.
Funny how even with the busters, it still only took a simple backcapping scout to quickly win a round. And only after the cap did the buster chasing that scout arrive.

I think that this could actually be a good idea, but it needs a few changes:
-First I would say it should activate depending on point total for each team; if a team has like 15 (or any amount you can suggest) points total more than the other team for 30-60 seconds straight, the busters arrive
-Instead of spawning 50 sentry busters, the game just spawns 1 for every 3 players on the opposite team (casual servers are 12v12 so max 4 busters at once there seems balanced) to minimize the times you die to someone else's buster
-The sentry busters target the enemy team's top scoring players (which sounds unfair but remember that it's much eaiser to avoid a sentry buster when there are only four of them)
-It should deal at least some damage to their own team when they explode to prevent the losing team from mindlessly pushing as soon as the busters spawn, and maybe even let smart players detonate the busters on the point to avoid having someone cap by taking advantage of the panic and smoke

Would it be possible for you to make a video going over the bug where Pyro takes a ton of extra damage from grenades he reflects? It's been in the game for so long and bugs you dissect tend to be mysteriously patched not long after.

it is a mini-crit grenade and pyro doesn't have any natural self-expulsion resistance
@@camoking3609 you're not supposed to deal crit damage to yourself so it's a bug, it's why a self-reflected rocket doesn't deal as much damage to you
Doesn't that happen because some flamethrower damage stat gets applied to the grenade or was that a different bug?
If I have to guess it's probably because airblast greatly increases pipe's splash radius (which shounic already covered), and that's why you take more damage from reflected pipes.
Shocker, if kill half of the team and apply a smoke screen, it works! Who would have ever seen that coming.

this makes me imagine some kind of war game variation of tf2 where each team has a commander who doesn't participate as a mercenary, but can use a resource to cause effects like "kritz your team for a few seconds" or "summon sentty busters"
The buster's team also immune to the blast, while their enemiess aren't. Meaning you basically created an invincible area albeit for a short while, too.

If you can understand when the busters will spawn, the team about to be hit can have a spy sit at the other teams spawn and when they spawn, run in front and set all of them off
This makes me see the value in something like smoke grenades as a anti-camping measure, something that could fit with Demo’s or Spy’s loadout.

What if instead of a wave of Sentry Busters, have just ONE that targets the top scoring player?
I mean, sure, it can be avoided easily, but this means that said player must retreat somewhere far from the heat of battle, giving the dominating team a temporary disadvantage.
Also, the team getting helped can easily tell when to push according to the Sentry Buster announcement.
By the way, this is a crazy fun and clever idea you had. I can't stress enough how genius/interesting your video ideas are.

nice concept, the problem here is that you are punishing a team for doing good while rewarding and handicapping the one doing bad. perhaps simply placing indestructible mini sentries at each spawn could help mitigate camping and stomping, the only one around enemy spawn under normal circumstances is the spy and they know how to play around being seen.
Yeah mechanics like this need to be careful as they can overly punish you just by playing great.

Adding robots to regular matches sounds fun, maybe add other types lke swarms of bat scouts or giant soldiers?
Do the meet the team videos with army of soldier bots.
This reminds me of that game where you have to pick a larger number than your opponent but if you go higher enough you lose instead. You have to make sacrifices and allow it to SEEM like the other team has a chance, or FIFTY BUSTERS WILL COME
