Fun fact, that's actually a bug. It's supposed to work with the neon annihilator but it must have been an oversight. Apparently they are trying to see if they can make it work
"There are other payload race maps besides hightower, people!" yeah but nobody wants to play payload race, they want to play hightower. Hightower just happens to have a payload race inside of it.
They buffed it. Now neon annihiltor considers players doused in gas as wet. Which apparently happened because someone gaslit valve into believing it was a bug, reporting it on github as one.
2:23 Can we acknowledge how much of a bad day this guy is having Dude somehow managed to be on FIRE and then die of electrocution because the universe claimed he was also WET at the same time
I didn't know even ANKLE HIGH water makes you count as wet! This is a piece of forbidden information you shouldn't have unleashed on the playerbase. Now I'm paranoid. And it doesn't help that we don't have wetness HUD indicator.
13:08 that was really sick I’m not gonna lie. Pulling off an airblast rocket jump with the Neon Annihilator is really cool, glad you got that while recording.
Something I noticed during a lot of this footage: The neon's crit knockback is.. kind of absurd. I feel like it should have a hidden reduced knockback stat so you don't knock enemies out of melee range.
the problem is that enemies underwater also take significantly reduced knockback, which means that you get basically normal knockback on submerged enemies.
If the neon and homewreaker had a reverse equalizer situation where both stats of the weapons were combined into one the neon would be a much better weapon and would actually be able to stand on its it own. However there would then be the problem of why the hell would a hammer do crits on wet players.
make a hammer with a battery attached to it (with duct tape) and powering a small shark light on the head, so it keeps that electric hazard theme and hammer theme at the same time
If the Gas Passer gets the recharge of 60 seconds or 750 damage(WHAT THE FRAK?!) for MVM mode and PVP mode Gas passer has 30 seconds and 300 damage recharge or 45 seconds and 450 damage recharge and counts as "wet" for the Neon Annihilator, that would be an immense improvement for both Gas passer and Neon Annihilator. I am of the opinion that a situational weapon at least needs to have a complementary stat or item to make use of it(Ex Jarate and Bushwaka combo would not work well if there was no Jarate), so the Neon Annihilator with my Gas Passer improvements would be good. If the Gas Passer Gasoline effect also gets very difficult to get rid of, plus "firing" modes you change by Pressing R when active that is Gasoline Cloud and Gasoline Bomb(50 damage fire attack, no damage falloff, Rocket AOE and does Gasoline Afterburn) that would make the Gas passer very good. Sharpened Volcano Fragment and the Sun on a Stick aka RIFT items need to have some upside. I suggest alt fire does ranged fire attack. Scout gets a flare gun stats firebolt and the Pyro a Dragon's Fury Stat fireball with a meter to fill up. this simple change makes them a bit better, plus Scout gets some form of complementary stat on the SOAS to make use of it's upsides better. I also think that you start off empty and refill with 30 seconds or doing damage or when burning, holt alt fire to extinguish other players for 20HP and 10% charge. This makes both RIFT items much better then before. Third Degree, give it 20% less damage and no random crits but the upside is hitting foes can siphon 20HP of health and overheal(as in, instead of HP on HIT, you take 20HP with every hit, AND siphons the medibeam Medic's health meaning you can do 40HP on hit) and alt fire is using your 35HP to do a minicrit damage attack. Would this make it better? stock axe, I would make all stock melees do something. Stock Shovel and Kukri, alt fire is a meter that when holding alt fire is charged up for a minicrit swing. Stock fireaxe, alt fire is hold alt fire to charge up a meter that when full is a minicrit swing that also does afterburn. Stock Wrench is third hit does mnicrits. Stock Bat does Daze effect that lasts 3 seconds on every 4th swing and minicrits(Daze is a 20% debuff for movement speed, reload speed, rev up speed, firing speed, swing speed, switching speed) and put Daze on Sandman ball to make it better. Stock fists, on kill, gain plus 15% faster movement speed that stacks with other things(I also think a new core Class Passive called Rushing Slav where you switch from main damage dealer aka Minigun for plus 15% that stacks with other speed boosters as a upside would work well). Demoman, Stock bottle does 25HP on taunt press R to switch to a Bottle smack taunt kill, broken bottle does not give health has 30 second recharge, also Caber gets 30 seconds recharge to make it better. Medic, alt fire is a Disciplinary action mechanics injector syringe that gives 20% HP that can overheal and press R to self heal. This was a lot of things. What do you think of this?
I think the extinction of the Spinosaurus was less because he coudn't compete with carchos and more that everything eatable starts to die out. Carchos went excintc around the same period, so I don't think they were water dependant either, at least as much as Spinosaurus. It's just that Kem-Kem was a river-heavy place and once the water started to dissapear everything dried out and they all died. Tragic
That Spinosaurus comparison is oddly fitting given the fact the Pyroshark play style is just that of a heron and it does not thrive well outside of very wet maps.
4:10 Found out that the Neon IS actually supposed to crit them, but it's bugged.........so yeah.......god dammit Valve. Hurry the hell up and fix your game.
I believe in part, the NA was meant to play not just with water in mind, but against a player's instinctive reaction. Fire bad, water make fire go fwsh, go to water. With that, the described playstyle of... playing Pyro makes the most sense. Especially on a spot like Pier, set someone on fire and 9/10 times they're gonna go for water if they can't heal it off or have their own pyro extinguish. Even moreso scouts and snipers extinguishing themselves, the viability can increase a lot if the pyro player has the awareness and mobility to catch them out.
The Eyelander barely changed as well. The Powerjack changed a lot, but it has never been garbage either. The backscratcher is also an underrated, yet consistent melee option.
I understand why this exists, as flare pyros are helpless while submerged underwater. It just needs a buff to help them while active and underwater like a faster swim speed or health regen while submerged.
One of the most fun times I've ever had on Pyro was on a random weapons server on 2fort, I rolled the Neon, the tideturner, and ali baba boots. Needless to say that was Megalodon of the sewers.
It's even more absurd considering that Sniper has Jarate+Bushwacka, not only invalidating but reversing what is supposed to be the biggest if not only weakness of the longest range class in the game, while Pyro has one of the shortest effective ranges of all the marcs, second perhaps only to Spy, which is also arguably the weakest class in the game.

They should add a weapon like the Booties for Pyroshark. Flamethrower replacement that gives +25 health, secondary reload on melee kill, speed boost while wet, and maybe crit resistance.
I think the Neon Annihilator would actually be good situationally with one small change: Speed boost while wet. Now it's a counter to mad milk and jarate and it works in those maps with the bad water spots because you get to boost through them as utility. I tend to use this weapon often even on map that don't have a single patch of water, but it caugh ppl so off guard when they see a pyro jump at them with fire and a sushy shop sign
People also tend to panic and hop into water when on fire. So you don’t even need to airblast them to the water when they run in themselves. That’s usually where I pull this out
What if Pyro had a High Pressure, Extremely Scalding Water Gun that specializes in both breaking down buildings and pushing away enemies at the cost of replacing Airblast with a pressure Valve that sets the amount of heat and the amount of power the water makes, but if it is overcharged then the Water Pump the Pyro player is lugging around will just explode. This way, Pyro finally has something to wet enemies with.
I'm just gonna be the buzz kill 20:01 water H2O does not conduct electricity at all, it is the metals in the water that makes it kinda conductive, just like the human body has a fuck load of resistance and we don't make wires out of ham.
I personally prefer detailed spreadsheet over a tierlist, it's somehow saddening what the attention span of some human became. Thank for giving a link in the description.
Something I would find fun on top of the Gas Passer "buff" would be Guaranteed Crits when wet, that way you can get more aggressive in wet maps and pull reverse-bushwackas on dry ones
I feel like this weapon relies too heavily on the concept of "pyroshark" to really understand it. I say that because pyro rarely even USES his melee weapon. It's a backup, a tool for doing something NOT pyro related (normally). The way I (would) use it would be yes on maps that have water, but where I'm oppressive enough as a pyro that the enemy willingly jumps into it just to get away from me and shoot me from a distance. THEN, only then, do I pull out the NA and show them that it was a trap all along.
It's not a *huge* change. Getting the gas is hard enough and the crit combo is ironically not as good as the jarate + Bushwacka combo. It's serviceable and fun to nick a Kunai spy with so there's that.
@@NeonBlueLight despite it not being the biggest change, the fact of the matter is, it STILL changes how the gas passer can be used to a noticable degree
@@DarealVinbo Yeah, it's a small subtle change that makes it go from *comically bad* to at least *situational* I do think if the gas passer had a smaller holster speed increase, it might be decent to use with the Neon Annihilator. Otherwise it's more like a backstab mechanic for Pyro.
@@NeonBlueLight Yeah the gas passer arguably needs a fair cooldown reduction, and to make the Pyro spawn with a full meter for this thing to be useful still. In that event, it could be a very useful support weapon to help lock off areas (as no-one wants to go through a gas cloud in a highly-contested area) and also for crowd control situations like where the enemy team is all stacked up on the cart.
@@JeffarryLounder Me personally, the gas passer should have a weaker version of the explosion in MvM if it's attacked with Explosives or fire damage. Say maybe 40-50 damage from explosion + afterburn. And it might be worth while. Or just give an overall fire damage vulnerability, for the love of god. Being doused in gasoline's not healthy.

0:25 this is the best part when le pyro said:AGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHUUUUIIIIHUUUUUUI😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
I'm just gonna be the buzz kill 20:01 water H2O does not conduct electricity at all, it is the metals in the water that makes it kinda conductive, just like the human body has a fuck load of resistance and we don't make wires out of ham.
It ain't a fish vid without some paleontology autism and I'm all for it.
That shark bait joke has to be one of your best jokes. I haven't laughed that hard in a while
make a followup video with the gas passer because it can be used in combo now
YOU use the Neon Annihilator for the memes.
I use the Neon Annihilator because I never got the Homewrecker.
We are not the same.
well, now the neon sing works with the gass passer
I personally prefer detailed spreadsheet over a tierlist, it's somehow saddening what the attention span of some human became. Thank for giving a link in the description.
THEY MADE THE GAS PASSER/NEON COMBO WORK!!!
Still bad, but the funny is somewhat possible now!
Something I would find fun on top of the Gas Passer "buff" would be Guaranteed Crits when wet, that way you can get more aggressive in wet maps and pull reverse-bushwackas on dry ones
tierlists are basically the ''can you dumb it down for me'' version of spreadsheets
This video fr needs to be revisited with the recent Gas Passer/Neon fix
It's not a *huge* change. Getting the gas is hard enough and the crit combo is ironically not as good as the jarate + Bushwacka combo. It's serviceable and fun to nick a Kunai spy with so there's that.
@@NeonBlueLight despite it not being the biggest change, the fact of the matter is, it STILL changes how the gas passer can be used to a noticable degree
@@DarealVinbo Yeah, it's a small subtle change that makes it go from *comically bad* to at least *situational*
I do think if the gas passer had a smaller holster speed increase, it might be decent to use with the Neon Annihilator.
"There are other payload race maps besides hightower, people!"
bold of you to assume we play Hightower for payload race
I have to say, I didn't exepct a "Ranking TF2 maps by the amount of water" tier list video.
I like how it sounds good but then you play tf2 and realize there's like 3 maps that have water.
wait the neon is a bad weapon? what will the pyro sharks think about that?
I think Pyro Sharks are currently considered an invasive species
They're responsible for the 42% decline of Spy Crab populations
20:15 "It's very difficult to instigate moist encounters"
Phrasing please
not even two months and its outdated! gas counts as wet now!
This is one of your funniest episodes. Your jokes are well timed and clever
I litterally discovered frontier had water 2 weeks
July 18, 2024 Patch #1 (Summer 2024 Update)
-Fixed the Neon Annihilator not getting Crit-attacks when hitting players covered with gas.
-Pyro-sharks now are land critters as well as sea critters.
Evolution.
They fucking buffed it holy shit
i had a ideia of a "flamethrower" to combo with the neon annihilator,
Basically, is not a flamethrower, is a waterthrower, does -50% damage, applies the water effect thing instead of after burn and have +50% holsters speed and have waterblast instead of airblast, waterblast is capable of applie the water thing with a more ranged attack, having a range equal to the stock grenade launcher and a damage with reverse fall-off 20-50
probably someone made a similar ideia before, but thats it
DUDE WE NEED AN UPDATED VIDEO LMAO
I absolutely love the Neon Annihlator and it's my main melee for my main class
4:08 i think valves logic is that people already complain about the janata bushwacka on sniper
Bro put subnautica music over a pyroshark BWA. Very clever
actually upset that you teased me with a nice, color-coded chart only to throw the meaningless tier list at me... Fair enough, i guess..
YOO THE GAS WORKS NOW
Neon Annihilator is a direct upgrade.
PS. Is that soundtrack from Subnautica that I hear?=)
2:41 not hitting that sapper on the sentry hurt
