- ASUS Z790 motherboards have been hit-and-miss, but the ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFI is actually good? The overall specs of the ASUS TUF Z790 motherboard are quite good, and the ASUS TUF Gaming Z790 Plus WiFi price is also ok for what you get! So is this the best Z790 motherboard possible?

Straight to the point...appreciate the video!
clean, concise, understandble for a noob like me. thumbs up.
good breakdown
For a i5 12600k and later upgrade to 14700k in the future should I buy asus tuff plus z790 or msi z690 pro series ?
I got the gigabyte z790 and had to return it. Wouldn’t boot or post. Ended up getting this one because Best Buy didn’t have anymore of the gigabytes. Noticed the 2 less sata connectors right away. However, having 2**** usb c ports compared to 1 is worth it in my opinion. This board rocks. I am using with i7-13700k and Corsair veng ddr5 rgb ram. Nice video man!
Looking to buy the DDR4 version of this, but disappointed that the VRMs seem to have been downgraded from 14x80A in the Z690 version to 16x60A in this version. Can't find confirmation of it though, so it'd be nice to actually look beneath the heatsink to confirm.
I purchased the DDR4 version because I didn't want to upgrade to DDR5 yet and it was a mistake, the 13900k does not like the VRM. I do have a Kingpin Dark Z790 waiting (long live EVGA), and my new DDR5 just arrived so I will be upgrading later this week when I have the time. But can confirm at least with my DDR4 variant that it's a no go with 13900k.
Also no XMP for me either which is weird because it's only a 3000hz kit. You might have better luck is an i5 processor, though. But DDR4 variant is clearly not for high end cpus.
I have this motherboard and love it; it holds mild overclocks on my i7 and dominator titaniums just fine. The only thing I'd want is more ooomph from the audio components, although that seems reserved for higher-end motherboards.
Is this mainboard combined well with i5 14500? Thanks!
I'm looking at this board, no extra temperature sensor plug , like the strix, no Lead debug?
@1:23 why do they put pci e slots there ? Such a waste. The gpu will take up the slots right beneath it.
can the "ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi " run 6000mhz ddr5? xmp? it says its max is 4600mhz and i dont know if i should get slower ram or find a board that works?
Yes it can
I run it at 6000MHz xmp2
Does it matter which slot I plug my Samsung 980 2TB nvme into? I don't want to slow down my video card. Also considering getting a 2nd nvme drive but I don't want to reduce GPU performance.
the board has 4 slots, just dont use the 1 above the pci-e slot
this board doesn't steal gen 5 lanes from the gpu for its nvme slots, so it's fine wherever you put it. ideally it should be in the top slot since that's the one directly connected to the cpu
I bought this Motherboard because I wanted something that supports DDR5 7200Mhz (O.C.) and had PCI-E 5.0 which was my two criteria for building a new PC. I went with the 13600kf and the Asus RTX 4080 Proart. an added bonus is that the Mobo is completely black and I want to build a "Stealth Build! thas also my reason for choosing the ProArt
Do you have to use both EPS/cpu power ports?
No, you can just use one.
mate witch take motherboard ASUS PRIME Z790 or this asus tuf ? thanks
Both are great, just depends which features you personally need from a motherboard.
Damn 😢 whenever i want to buy a motherboard for my i5 13600k ... someone in the comments complaining about something , one is saying black screen the other one is saying bugged ethernet card ....
Same reason I'm here
Same CPU
Looking at this mobo
I mean every product has faulty ones
I just hope the one i buy doesn't
@Archangel__ good luck then 😂
I built a new system last week, same board and processor, no issues
@RockyNinja i bought it and i have no issues whatsoever.
@@SmIiXo Had just bought the board recently and awaiting to build it when rest of parts arrive as well. I pray u have a good time with ur new system
what to use for cpu cooler that is quiet and budget priced?
Thermalright Phantom Spirit is extremely quiet, efficient and is very affordable. Thats what I use with my I5 13600KF
Do you think it would be good with? A Intel Core i7-13700KF and
Intel Arc A750
Yeah would work great with that CPU.
The intel arc a750 is too slow for the 13700kf tho, so i would spend less on the cpu and spend more to upgrade that gpu
merci :-)
So which z790 motherboard you reccomend?
Really just depends on what you personally need from a motherboard and your budget.
Honestly, at this point hold off on it until they work out the bugs or get a combo that has been tested with the memory and CPU you want.
@@avrona which z790 motherboard would you recommend for gaming, live streaming and light video editing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I was personally thinking of getting the Msi z790 edge wifi ddr5
@@avrona Infinite budget, but casual gamer that don't want to over spent on something that we are not going to use.
It's 149.00 on newegg right now.
Always present the Intel i226v bugged ethernet card?
this just needs updated from the ASUS website and it works fine.
Its god for i9 13900k ?
Yes it's fine for that CPU.
Will this work with a RM750x 80 Plus Gold? PSU?
It should work 😊
Its only a good motherboard when it😉... is working as intended without any aftersales n product issues like overvoltage/bios eff ups etc... and the board lasts for a good 10 plus years
So this one is good?
Well i just bought it!
Paired with 13700k and air cooler and rtx 4080
Never did I thermal throttle it!
And the default AI Tweaking to boost performance is just mind blowing
Never hit more the 82 under heavy load
Btw this mb pairs so well that I didn’t even need to boost manually any OC settings
Just don’t use armory crate is shit software! Only use it to install drivers.
Mw2 2556x1440 all sertings on extreme i get above 220 in multiplayer and in warzone 140-180
hmmmm
Okay... You are a motherboard or fatherboard
Take an educated guess.
Motherboard for sure
But…….. still no BIOS flashback
pretty girl
I thought it is a Girl 😂
