knower is coming
we love you
Only halfway through the video I realised having 4 arms actually isn't a normal thing for a human. I think Knower has permanently nestled into my brain.
Nem87 yeah, you just start to accept whatever Genevieve is doing because it’s Genevieve 🤣
We were so focused on the butts and t**s and money that we didn't notice the extra arms

Louis can you send me your shoulder workout? It's working...

Louis Cole isn't real
Why aren't these guys EXPLODING right now?! I'm livid. It scares me shitless how talented this group is
THEY WENT ON TOUR WITH RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS RECENTLY SO THEY ARE GETING THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVE.

I just saw them in Atlanta last night in front of a crowd of maybe 500. I agree, I couldn't believe it wasn't a bigger venue and more people. Was nice for me, though, I was right up front!
I oddly only met these guys after a Drill meet.
the lyrics suck tho and the video is... well it isnt the best.
Dude they opened for RHCP in your last year
love the big shoulder dance
gives me some Byrne vibes. pretty rad
I didn't like it at first, but it's *grown* on me

I think my favorite thing about Knower is that they find a way to simultaneously parody and reflect mainstream culture. Like, I would argue the first 2:30 of this video/song is presented without sarcasm, but the last minute is just parody of the first two minutes. It's silly, sexy, bizarre, and genuine all at the same time and I love it.
The last bit of the tune is an audio cumshot
I sort of agree with this sentiment, but I think I differ slightly. What I see in this video and in the lyrics is an expression of guilty pleasure. The basic theme of the song is the ruination of our culture by pornography, ultimately driven by capitalism, hence lines like "'cause I'm broke and happy", and "no chance at the top, so I watch and watch and watch", and imagery such as the giant space dildo (:3), which represents pornography and ultimately greed, destroying the world. I think what's being expressed is simultaneously a joy in making money and indulging in pleasurable activities which money can facilitate; and guilt or shame over how this is in conflict with what we're taught. Whether they truly accept that such "greed" is immoral or not is hard to tell. I for one do not accept it, but sometimes can relate to the conflicting emotion anyway, for various reasons.
@@seeker.8785 The line is actually "Because i'm broke and ugly". But yeah.
@@bloodyidit4506 Oh.
It’s basically just about porn addiction, but it could also be seen as an indictment of the culture as a whole, or the mainstream music industry specifically.
The more jazz-focused stuff is cool, but this was really something new. Like they were swinging for the fences. Full throttle. Insane, funny, disturbing and a hardcore JAM all at the same time. Inspired.
That one bar fill that Louis plays coming back into the groove for the second verse is too fuckin' slick - repeated viewing material
Lois is the most recognizable modern drummer by far. Just hearing a drum track alone I can tell it’s him. Very hard to do on drums. Amazing musician
that part on the keys at 3:07 when he changes the chords is just so fantastic, I can't explain it
"'Cause I'm broke and ugly" *LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER*

Jesus christ, these drums are glorious
Can’t believe I just saw a comment on a video of a cover of this song dissing Louis Cole and saying the other guy is a “real drummer”.
The fuck are they asking for?
I know right? Just listen to the POP on that snare.
I might be late to the KNOWER party, so fogive me... but this track is fascinatingly compelling. On the face of it, it sounds (and looks) like cheap trash, but dig down a touch and there's a lot of interesting stuff going on. In a way, it reminds me of DEVO. I have yet to listen to anymore KNOWER tracks, but if the others are in the same vein, then I could be hooked!
Quick update: I've just heard more and I'm now hooked!!! My dopamine levels are now shooting through the roof. Bravo KNOWER.
Another two years and I am now going through your journey, holy shit brother, what a ride!
Fuck yes Knower, Fuck yes!
Wait til he finds out about the clowns
@@pg-13otaku4 When I found out about the clowns, I was like "Yooooo..."
Yes, very Devo! By now you've listened to Time Traveler. And sometimes a bit Talking Heads...
The Government Knows.
Louis's face when he funks that riff up at 1:34. That's the real money shot.

THIS IS SO DAMN GOOD! why are these guys not famous?
The answer to your question is is contained in your previous statement. Plus I think songs like this and "The Government Knows" are just a little to honest for many people to be comfortable with.
Compared to us they certainly seem famous. We are Foxzen
They kind of are
They are.
Because they name songs 'butts and tits and money'
I’ll be the first to notice Louis doing his thing behind the left drumkit
I watched this for the first time today and thought that left louis was going to break into an awesome solo.
This song is soooooo addictive!!!! I have to listen to it like 5 times in a row everytime.... been waiting for this video, and it's fucking amazing.

This sounds like something from Panty Stocking and Garterbelt, seriously!
Horse Keytars, Shoulder Pads, 4 Arms, Real Recorded Drums, Rythmic Displacment @01:10, Oh and massive SNES Starfox style Flying Dicks smashing Earth............yes KNOWER!!
This band and both of these artists are absolutely amazing and I cant believe I learned of them through a stupid facebook meme. These guys need more recognition for their amazing music along with Louis' personal channel which is also badass
You did it again you beautiful bastards

This is a song about being a camgirl. Look at the imagery (wearing a PC headset, posing), read the lyrics. Written from the perspective of a performer. Pretty depressing song actually.
Whoa. I haven't been paying enough attention to Knower's lyrics.
Aah, that makes more sense. I thought it was about watching porn.
AnotherCanadian07 damn, did you just figure that on your own?
I'm usually terrible with realizing lyrics' meaning, so just curious
There is no art if there is no pain.
Oooooooooh come on!!!
Haven't listened to this in nearly a year and 2 nights ago I woke up with this in my head.
Zero regrets.
Yes... Yes... Yes... Yes...
yes this is the song that introduced me to knower, and no i'm never going back.
Why not?
@@JoeLaFon3 cause this band is too good to not be in my playlist for the rest of my life
It’s 2009 and these two are sitting in a room together. They’re listening to Bubble Pop Electric by Gwen Stefani. Suddenly, Genevieve turns to Louis and says, “What if we started a whole project…. that was basically just this song…?” Louis, of course, is ecstatic. What a fantastic idea. Grinning from ear to ear, he says, “I’d love to, but what will we write about?”
No shade to that song but there is a multiverse of references in Knower’s music. I don’t think Gwen Stefani’s solo work even makes it into the top 69 references
With a beat like that, you can say whatever you want over it.
Straight fire! Love when the moment at the bridge.
That bass drop is amazing. I need better headphones! This song and die right now really remind me of old school little big.
The end should be its own song. my god its so good.

The song is great but that ending was next-level euphoric hit to the brain.
The funniest/best thing might just be the fact that this is actually a good song.
How did they know what the Amazon space ship was going to look like?
Awesome tune, cool video and Genevieve in a bathing suit! WIN,WIN,WIN!!!!!
I love the attention to detail, especially how the bass drum kick clip gets choppier every time it is shown.
legit replayed it 7 times in one sitting....HOOOOLY SHOOOT THIS IS SOO GOOOOOD!!
Wow this is so good! It's funny but also sounds amazing and has meaningful lyrics. I'm so mad at myself for not discovering them sooner. I'm suprised they aren't more famous. They definitely would deserve it because they are so talented. Also thank you JasonParadise for playing this song in guitar hero. Now I have new awesome band I can listen to.
Knower is going places.
I wish there was a version with just the shoulder dance scenes lol
Justice vibes from this with the final act.
Been sleepin' on Louis & Co for too long. Thank Gaia for clowns. 😄
This bassline is disgustingly funky.
Everything about this song and video is perfect
This slaps so hard it sent me straight into the stratosphere, where I was promptly disintegrated by a low poly dong missile. Strong Die Antwoord vibes
ya know, I first heard the song on guitar hero, this video perfectly matches it
What refreshing music! Finally something worthwhile.
This song slaps! That change near the end is dope. That bassline is sick. Love you two; keep making music. You have such a unique sound. And arguably one of the most talented drummers out there. Hope to see a live show sometime!
Finally, a song that speaks to me.
Louis Cole is the spitting image of that bad guy lab assistant from Crash Bandicoot
Same energy as 90s/early 2000s Regurgitator I'm into it
late to the party, but i really like the visual elements to their music videos, and how much variety they have to their sound.
Yea boooooooiiiiiii!! You guys amaze me with every new song I hear. Keep it up!!
This melody sounds like a very niche Halloween song
TsundereDee it predicted only fans lmao 🤣🤣
0:11 , ah, yes. A rare sighting of the immaculate Twouis Cole.
This band has passed through a non-Euclidean space and emerged changed. Louis Cole is the lead singer. Genevieve is the drummer.
idk how i got here, but at least RUclips knows what i like & loves me enough to give it to me
2:31 I want an instrumental version just because of this part. So damn good
Day 12 of watching this every day. I think I'm starting to understand.
Day 26: Damn, I lost it. Still haunted by this, though.
So this is the outer space Danny Sexbang and Ninja Brian flew threw when they time traveled to 6969....
I was legit thinking about that. Danny would love this.
This was before the Council of Dick Elders took over. They were like, "Nah, man, this is too weird, we gotta shut this shit down."

Why does this only have half a million views?
That's a nice number. Our band has hundreds of views
This is in my top 10 for Knower/LC/et al.
Why is this addictive to listen to?
The ending is so pizzicato fiveish. Love it!
that's me. I'm the rocketship penetrating everything.
For real why aren't these guys exploding!?!?!? This is the best music I have heard maybe ever....
How the fuck does this have less than a million views? Have you heard how catchy the lyrics and bass line are???
Edit: Have you heard how sick the drums and compression are?!
Can you make 100 albums that sound like the final minute of this song thanks
Man I think I've listened to this like 80 fuckin times over the last 2 days. Absolutely bananas in the best possible way 🍌👌
Yup. It's like crack, but healthy :) I've been OD'ing on Overtime (Live Sesh) even more. I find myself thinking about it at work and planning time to check it out when I get home. My obsession would be sad if the music and vids weren't so damn fantastic. Ok... Maybe it's still a little sad...

While I got the "notification" of your response to my post just now, I was watching the other live version of Overtime from the Blue Whale. And, no, I'm not kidding... LOL. I have a problem :)

0:53 I liked the subtle "knower rulez"
This just looks like a good time
This song is PURE. GOLD.
This is so different from their other work. I really love a lot of what they do. My favorite is the Gaga piece. The fact that Tim Lefebvre is playing bass helps.
While this may not be musically of the same caliber, the cinematography is pretty impressive. Ya know, based upon what they have to work with.
I hope they get a chance to go further with this genre. If you break down all of the facets, this is kinda groundbreaking. I wish they needed a guitarist :-)
I dont know why but i got that 90s-2009 feel watching this
