I've been listening to this in the car and realized this guy does deserve serious credit. My speakers aren't even good for being stock so it's amazing he drove sensibly the whole time.
His turns are tight.
He definitely has the most mouth I've every seen!
If I can hype this drummer's versatility for my fellow drum nerds, this guy, armed with just a single kick, snare, hihat, and bell, plays:
--A djenty kick pattern that will probably be stolen by a teenage metalcore band ("earth")
--A paradiddle blast beat that is so fast I thought the recording was sped up ("van")
--A groovy, "jump the f*** up" part ("song")
--Some of the fastest, cleanest double-stroke ghost notes known to mankind ("computers")
--A swingy, Latin-tinged dance beat ("you are pregnant")
--My favorite, a skank beat variation with a displaced gallop on the bell ("existence")
--Some nasty fills with expert coordination between his snare hand and kick foot (throughout)
Plus, he does much of this while also stomping on his hihat pedal hard enough to make the stand shake AND using his free hand to play keyboard bass parts in lockstep with the kick drum, AND ALSO throwing in some screams and horn honks.
At least he has some nice, solid feces to take over on keyboards sometimes ("keyboard").

"computers" might be one of the greatest songs ever recorded tbh. When the sax solo happens you realize how talented these two are and how actually amazing this is.
I can't stop listening to this. It's genius. Easily the most mind-blowing music I've heard in years. It's catchy, it's technical, it's off-the-wall and it's mesmerizing.

It's pretty strange that literally one of the worlds best saxophone solos ever recorded (4:54) is in one of the worlds most strange albums.. This is Fine Art. Also we are all in an infinite realm of incomprehensible suffering.

Fun Fact: in "Keyboard", the van goes in circles. So, the centrifugal force being applied to the excrement is keeping it from falling on the floorboard. So technically the driver is playing the keys for this song.

Clown Core is unironically everything that music is to me.
It's pure insanity and joy, beauty and absurdity, class and obscenity all combined.
It's taking all these clashing musical styles and cultures and saying there is meaning and merit in all of them.
The drummers chops are exceptional. I don't even know how you begin to learn or practice the combination of keys with drums.
Yeah... Louis Cole actually has a nice tutorial on his channel about some beats, I don't remember if any of the beats on this album are on there, but all his stuff is amazing
