Genevieve, your voice and phrasing have so much presence and rhythmic inventiveness. Louis your chords just kill me. . I hadn’t heard you with the full band before. Yikes!!! They're not really underrated, most people who know about them think they're the dog's bollocks. They're just underexposed. I suspect that will change, though.

Reverb happens from reflections and distance, compression is actually achieved by your ears when the SPI of a sound is too loud, the brain naturally attenuates the signals. That's pretty much all the plugins on this except the master bus limiter. Also saturation helps! Haha

I just so happen to stumble across this Louis Cole guy from a Facebook post.I have been intrigued with him since I've listened to him. I am in my 60s but he takes me back to a place in music that is so familiar. I really really enjoy his music.
Check out Buckethead by Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, about 3 mins in. Claypool and Buckethead can both get a bit carried away with themselves (an extreme understatement) but the Bernie Worrell keyboard solo is fantastic.
In the last week since I first heard Clown Core, I think Louis Cole has become one of my favorite musicians ever. Everyone involved here is so mind-blowingly good at what they do, and I CANNOT get these songs out of my head, not that I want to. On top of the overwhelmingly impressive musicianship, Genevieve has such an infectious voice and presence. Everything about this music is perfect and I will be annoying about it and tell everyone I know.

there is alot of overediting that happens with studio versions. Producers tend to want to add effects and post processing that real listeners dont care for. Live music will always be best

there is alot of overediting that happens with studio versions. Producers tend to want to add effects and post processing that real listeners dont care for. Live music will always be best

Playing bass is really satisfying once you can do it well. As someone who’s an amateur whenever you hit a nice solo it’s a great feeling.

WOW! Just discovered this band 5 min ago and already in love. No big Hollywood production, just 5 very talented musicians crammed in a small bedroom, killin it! That's what it's all about.

@@valentinasanchez5757 Yes of course. I've been a musician for over 30 years. I get it. Maybe skilled would be a better word. They look like they all went to a serious music school then started this as a project to express their creativity in a less structured environment. I love the stuff they come up with. Yes I know you can learn music without school like I did but when I see so many skilled musicians of the same age it makes me guess they know each other from school.
