You need to invest in a headlight restoration system and cleanup those foggy headlights it would make your cheaper cars look a lot cleaner and it would help your sales
That's what I would do. You would be surprised how much extra people pay just for a clean car. it's insane
sand paper and cut and polish works mint

I would be surprised if they didnt
Hopefully once he gets a supercar he can come on and tell his story
This is an amazing idea
Yea!
Can’t wait to see where this series ends. You might be the start of a huge trend.
*proceeds to buy a nearly undriveable dino like a boss*
Someone did this with shoes at a sneaker convention
Its already started by Russian youtubers.
The trend of car dealers buying old cars, repairing them and the selling them? Gee I guess you might be right, that might catch on 🤪
This is a great idea
its idea from russian bloggers..i dont know if he took it from there, but even name of the video almost exact same, lol
UBR team - Lithuanian youtubers also made this kind of series. From 500€ to bmw m5 e60. And they did buy the m5 😁
Paper clip challenge with cars
A old friend on of mine from high school has already done this! went from $800 Accord to Ferrari 360 in under 2 years! He is still a senior that got no help from his parents along the way!
FACTS
Love this idea. Cant wait to see it unfold.
Its completely bullshit. Not the idea but so far the execution. Just the Malibu for instance, 400 car full day to find the car and get it home (doesnt matter auction or Facebook). Full cut and buff. Interior detail. He said earlier in the video it need at least 2 tires + hub caps (not sure how expensive they are but i had to find 2 cap for a 1997 Altima back in '00 and paid almost $100, but whatever) i wont bring up the guys getting paid to do the work because you could do it yourself but your time is still worth something (still gotta pay the bills). Tools, if your going to do it yourself you have to have the tools. Its not hsrd to cut and buff a car but if you haven't done it before your going to need compound, polish, wax, and a buffer. Im not saying that any of this is really much of an obstacle but so far this has been completely unrealistic. In the market today, in my opinion, you should be starting with atlest a $2500 car and have already acquired the tools and skill to do the work. Or at least a place to borrow the tools from.
As a side note- it would be interesting to see the use of facebook marketplace marketing to sell faster and at a better margin. Yes you will have to pay facebook but again, time is worth something too. Might make more sence to wait till you get to the 10-15k range. Would still be interesting to see what happens at the lower price point.
"Im going to an auction with $400"...

He is literally copying what Russian RUclipsr Dubrovsky Syndicate did last year. They started with $2k and in a year flipped enough cars to buy a Ferrari.
@@elmwoodgc the car was $400 but he invested $200 more into the car to get it ready to sell
Its not legal to buy and sell that many cars without a license so very misleading

less then $600 and he is 1500+. never buy a used car from a dealer

I mean its the challenge wtf do you expect 😂
@@Potato-lw3fe i mean he did work that requires tools. Last time I got a car detailed they asked for 350 bucks. If you took that radiator issue to a shop your looking at 4 to 5 hundred. We're up to 1150 for the car if you went to the auction yourself not counting a tow and washing/waxing. Paying an extra 600 is probably easier then dealing with the hassle especially when he took the risk on the cars and his customers know what they are getting unlike him.

Awesome challenge. I'm doing something similar. I started with a $20 car part and started flipping it. Im currently at $900. Goal is $10k. At that point I'm going to apply for a dealer's license.
Awesome
I'm scared to apply for a license and fail and be in the hole. I have like $8k

Curious about how much time you think you’ve invested as well. I’m just trying to take the time and money required on all this as part of my mental calculations.
Smells like your car. To the Jamaican 🇯🇲 guy.... 💨

I tried doing this. Started with Toyota Corolla, and somehow I own a subway. I don't think I did this right.

NOOOOOOOOOOO way I'm buying my car from a dealership. Thx for the lesson.
Absolutely love how this guy isnt like those drop shipping ad guys instead he starts he from the basics
Cool! Great idea. I'm glad that you didn't start off by selling a paperclip first. hehe
I’m a young newer car dealer and it’s so funny listening to the way you talk about this business. I dealt with the dreadful cheap cars the first year and luckily I knew I needed to buy more expensive cars to not deal with the bs
That's awesome Craig. I just bought a 2004 impala of Facebook for a couple hundred dollars. And I'm working on a video for it as well. Can't wait to see where this will take you.
How he opened the civic and seen the purple and closed the door instantly 😭😭😭
Can't get anything with 4 wheels that drives for less than 1000$ here, and even then it'll be a total lemon that needs 3k of repairs. Sucks so much
It's been a good series and I'm still watching it. To date, he's already got a Bentley GT and still has left over $$ to buy a couple cars to flip, even in today's crazy priced used car market. Good job brother ! 👍👍
Just bought a 63 impala to flip!
Going all the way until I make 100k
I am impressed that you can enter and run almost any car that is open like nothing

I’ve always thought of flipping cars, I know how to detail and have the tools, and I also have the mechanical know how.

They key to starting is simple! Commitment!
Start then I challenge you
If you did have the know how, you wouldn't want to do it. There's a reason mechanics and body shop guys don't flip cars......

"and then I started it back up"
this is a bit impractical he didnt show how much he paid in auction fees . He also didnt talk about having a mechanic brother lol
It’s not like anyone can do this out of nowhere, the guy has 20+ years of experience on this business, made contacts, licenses, pays fees.
Also somehow buying a $400 car, putting $600 into fixing it up, and then selling for $1500 is calculated by him as a $900 profit. What?
You didn’t understand his math. He has $600 TOTAL invested into the car. Not on top of what he paid to get the car. Listen twice before commenting.
You forgot to mention the thousands it costs to have a dealers license to go to the auction you buy the $400 car from
You can find these same deals on Facebook it’s just very hard and you need to know how to talk to people
@Andrew Friend I did it when I was 14, so I know anyone could with the right motivation. I had 3 different cars before I was old enough for a license haha and I couldn’t even count the number of bad ass atvs and dirtbikes

I'm doing it with you, starting with this 2001 mitsubishi galant with 101k miles and needs a new water pump, let's go!
Do u have a dealers license
This reminds me of my childhood. My father and grandfather sold used cars and I can remember starting at small auctions when I was a kid going with them all the way up manheim auctions around North Carolina and darlington SC. When I was 14 my grandpa gave me $500 dollars to buy a car at a auction and by the time I turned 16 I turned that 500 dollar car into a 2 year old at the time 2006 GMC 2500 Denali that I drove for 8 years and 150k miles then a sold it for more money then I originally paid for it. After college I ran 3 family car lots for around 8 years and ended up selling them to a major franchise dealership.
Im on my second flip. So glad your doing this!!! This is really motivating me. I also shared the video. 😉🤞🏽
Thanks!
What flip are you up to nowadays? Curious for update in this hot market
I want to see Hoovie's version of this where he starts off with a Ferrari and ends with a Pinto
🤣
Everything in my life is a horse trade. This is exactly how my dealership is. I'm currently dealing with the cheap cars can't wait to start buying better cars.
Hope u succeed if u not are already 👍
This is a great video. A flippers dream to watch. This was so textbook! Love it!
Great that you show how you used to do it and what you're used to buying as of today. That Titan look super nice!
I picked up 2 ford rangers for $2,800. Sold one at auction for $9,800 and junked the other, and a Kia for $600 and sold it for $2,200. This is gonna take forever doing it your way! 😂
Where do you buy the cars?
@@thechosenone135 If i see the profit margin, I’ll buy from everywhere. Auction, private party, government sales, repos, etc. If your wondering where these two trucks came from specifically? Those came from an estate sale.
I just got a truck and a trailer to start doing exactly this, good timing :D
Can you do a video on some of the back lot losers? Cause not every one is a winner !
Will do
UNfortunatley most people don't have access to dealer auctions
I was thinking it was a different situation to a normal civilian where you can walk around and test drive most of the cars in the lot
Then get access.
@@blers87 Yeah right. Getting a dealer's license in the State of Ohio is not easy. You have to have an actual business building and address for starters. And it can't be your house. There was too much abuse of the system and it was changed years ago.
Does anybody know where i can fimd someone to go to a auction for me and try to find me a vechile under 1k? And of cource i pay them. would buy for myself. I'm looking for a car under 1k and these seem to run and drive ok. Thats all i need

Cool idea. However, I feel like it's going to take a super long time.
no it wont. lol if you havent been in the used car industry you dont realize the profit margin once he gets into the $3k and up cars.
I flipped cars part time when I started my unrelated advertising business 15 years ago. I was making 3k minimum a week within 4 months once I really understood what I was doing, what sold fast, how to take pictures, etc etc. I mostly focused on cars that were cosmetic disasters and mechanically sound as I was a mechanical novice. You could buy your dream car in well under a year if you made the most of 20-25 hours per week.
Well he hasn't made ep 2 in a month

And insurance on the vehicle. As well as a host of other costs that bring the 400 car to $700
What auction are these are they companies or impounds?
He only mentions his dealers license multiple times smh🤦♂️
I don’t think I have ever seen a running car at the auction for $400 here in Florida. I have been in the business for 20 years.
4:30 Never understood dealers who lock regular everyday cars at auctions.
I used to lock mine because every time I ran my cars through auction, people will always disconnect fuses and sensors to make check engine lights turn on and they think it’ll go for cheaper.
I own a dealership and basically did the same thing but with infinitis. We now are in the process of buying our first GTR after 1year! Also he is spot on about the synchro on the corvette 4:36!
i feel like this is going to inflate the price of cars if everyone starts doing it now lmaoo
@@RoenelTeck There is a limit that changes depending on the state that you live in. However, this does not apply if he uses his dealer’s license, which I’m assuming he will. They know how to buy cars which allows me to get a better value. First class operation and great customer service. I have referred several friends to Continental sales company and all have been just as satisfied with their purchase and the buying process.
Subbed, always thought about starting my own dealership. Never had the balls to start though
Fun watch but one thing I would have liked to hear about is a short rundown of how one gets into the auction scene. I know some of the ones near me are not open to the general public.
I like this idea, especially if you really stick to reinvesting pretty much the whole amount into one flip each time without banking much of the profit or splitting the bankroll into doing multiple cars as they get more expensive. Doing a flip in each price range on the way up will get interesting, especially if one of them goes sideways or worse. Good thing you're a trained professional on a closed course.
How trashed of a Ferrari will you consider a success? How much sweat equity are you going to allow yourself to do, versus subtracting it off of profit as a cost of flipping?
Likewise for allocating business overhead to it, charging employee labor to it, etc. It will be a lot easier to achieve if you ignore all that and just count selling price minus the sum of buying price and direct out of pocket expenses for parts. But if you're using words like investment and profit, that would be cheating! Maybe you should keep track of the numbers a few different ways, to illustrate how a hobbyist who "made a profit" on a project, would have made less or taken a loss if doing it commercially. In any case, I'm sure that all sorts of people who are thinking of doing a project or a straight flip, will learn a lot. It would be cool if one was a straight arbitrage flip buying from someone on Craigslist and immediately selling it to Carvana, not that it's in your interest to create an army of arbitragers scouring sources of private sales for flips, and not that you wouldn't make more by retailing it yourself. But it would be more like what a hobbyist could easily do, not having your retailing capability.
P.S., My (non-automotive) business is in Nashua. I used to pass through your area on 111 going to a girlfriend's home in Kingston, in the 2012-2014 timeframe, but never happened to pass by your place that I recall, though it's possible that I did.

The problem as a wholesale buyer trying to flip a vehicle back through another auction doesn’t show much profit? Now on the retail side this might work. This is an intriguing idea nevertheless.

My man I love what you’re doing and I’m very eager to see where this goes, as well as learning more about cars and business involving cars but here’s a bit of feedback if I may, I’d stick to the normal cut transitions instead of the weird fades and what not, it mixes the audio and cuts parts out which is not a big deal by any means, but keeping it clean and simple could just make this video even better.
