Sorry to hear that you are having issues. It could be any number of things I am afraid. Cable, different usb port, drivers, software version. I am not really sure if air2 came out after they stopping updating the simulator. I suggest that you go through a process of elimination to make sure it's not an issue with usb ports etc.
@@Flipside3D Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Yes, I haven't given up yet. The Air2 S is not on the supported list (and in fact it is not an available drone inside the sim), but I was hoping for the controller to be recognized. The Com port detects it and there seem to be no issues with the driver. Also, firmware is up to date. I am using a usb cable that came with a samsung a52 phone and it's the only one I have. At least with the phone works well for data transfer.
I think you've pretty much done your due. Only other thing you could try is to try older driver version one by one but that is a pain in the ass and i'm not sure if you can even find older drivers for with Dji. I think we can all agree dji needs to update the simulator
I've had the same problem with my AIR 2S N1 controller. It did create two new com ports but no connection. The DJI USB driver installed but still no connection. It was worth a shot.
Hi Hendra, if it's all working it should start flying as soon as you push both joystick upwards. The controls are exactly the same as real drone controls to help you practice
@@Flipside3D Yep it works. Thanks. Do you know if there is a way to practice the intelligent mode (active track, spotlight, POI) in the simulator? Want to test if I can do course lock / Tap Fly with the POI. Thanks.
There should be something in the menu that shows the key binding. Try binding it to something else if you can change it. If it doesn't work for some reason, I'm afraid you probably will have to try another version of the driver
I really appreciate your video and the way you explain even how to set drivers. I just want to know that my DJI mini 3 controller will work in simulator or not? because everything looks fine, Drivers and others but when I start simulator controller is not working.
Thanks man, it most probably won't work unless DJI decides to revive the project and update the simulator. Tbh i think they are more interestested in selling more drones than people being educated and provided the tools to fly them safely. I've never tried the enterprise version so I don't know if they kept that alive though. Unfortunately yeah so you will have to just practice in real life for now.
Unless your cable is power only, I don't think the cable matters. (Check that it transmits data just in case though) Also there is a variety of issues with this atm, I suggest reading through the comments. TLDR is DJI has essentially abandoned the software and isn't updating the drivers or anything. At least last time I checked, you will probably have to roll through different versions of the usb driver until you find one that works for your controller.
There's an app on the quest 2 called DVR simulator (drone VR simulator). I wonder if it's possible if I can connect my controller to the app somehow. It says it can connect the normal fpv controller
I am unable to get my mavic air controller to show up in DJI Assistant 2 after installing the DJI USB drivers. I have followed your instructions but am stuck on this step. Can you help? What kind of cable should I be using? I am currently using a standard micro USB to USB A - do I need a special/different cable? Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi Denise sorry to hear that it's not working for you. I found out the hard way the software and drivers are somewhat finicky hence why I made this guide. What I did to initially solve my issue was process of elimination. Firstly try the cable with another device and make sure it's data capable. Some cables are only for power. Then uninstall the usb driver then do a clean install and then maybe try it with a different port on your machine. Preferably a port that goes in directly to your motherboard.
@@Flipside3D Thanks for your response! After some trial and error I finally found a cable that works, and it's up and running😁The help is much appreciated.
Omg you have a m300! Sorry to hear it's not working. I obviously haven't used that controller before so I don't know for sure but I am assuming it should have all the same usb signals as the others. Maybe try some more usb ports on your pc or another pc. And if that fails try uninstall everything including the usb driver and try again. DJI really need to sort out their driver and software stuff better I think
@@Flipside3D ya, thanks for your video anyways. From what I've gathered so far, it seems the flight simulator software is old and hasn't been updated in a couple years, so the new Smart Controller doesn't get recognized. Haven't found a single person that got it to work and dji support don't have anything to add. It's just unsupported sadly.
Thank you for the info, I have been deliberately stayed away from updating my controller firmware because I have everything working at the moment. Sounds like I should keep it that way. The simulator in my opinion is really good and helped me a lot with my skill level with a drone, such a shame that they have stopped updating it.
Hey sorry to hear you are having issues. I recommend you read some of the comments here to see what the issue is with new DJI hardware and the simulator
unfortunately I wouldn't count on DJI to support it on the newer models, they've pretty much abandoned the project at this point I think. It's a shame cuz it's such a good tool for beginners
Hi~ sorry to hear that you are having trouble, try a process of elimination first. Different usb port, cable, firmware version etc. However keep in mind DJI stopped updating this simulator and there has been a lot of issues especially with their newer hardware
@@Flipside3D You know... I have had NO time to take care of this! They are asking me for the invoices and I am behind with that... But, I still have your video open in a tab and will, have to, do it this week.
Amazing, got my Mavic Pro controller working :) Had to install the driver. Unfortunately, only the sticks worked, but none of the buttons. But ok, at least I'm able to practice some specific skills now. Subscribed :)
Sorry to hear the buttons aren't working. Which version of the Mavic do you have? DJI really needs to update. This would be a shot in the dark but it might be worth trying different(older) driver versions if you Mavic is 2 pro or older. I got mine working with a certain driver and not gonna update until they fix this situ
@@Flipside3D I have a Mavic Pro, the first one. The controller is almost identical to the one bundled with Mavic 2, listed as compatible with the simulator. I forgot to say, the gimbal wheel is working too.
Hey Flipside, I have the Mavic 3 Cine Smart Controller and tried using the cable that came with the drone and I tried the USB c of my Honeycomb Flight simulator controllers, and no luck. Connected to the motherboard and other USB ports and nothing. The DJI USB driver gives me a security risk when I tried to install it. What can I do?
Hey Joe, I am terribly sorry I can't be of much help. I don't have experience with the new mavic3 stuff yet. All I know is DJI stopped updating the flight simulator so it's likely that the simulator is not compatible with the new hardware. I would ask DJI directly about your issue especially if they made it sound like you could use the simulator with that controller in the marketing. I think many people with new hardware are having issues like yours, if more people ask them they might be pressured to update the simulator finally.
@@Flipside3D Yeah I figured that mutch. I will reach out to them, but for practice, I was thinking of buying a regular controller. I think they go for $50 on ebay. Thank you for the response.
