Hello Shaun, its always a pleasure to watch your videos! I decided to make the daring move and give the FPV a try, so I was looking for a simulator to help me get into the mood before going out and crashing my new dji drone lol. I will give this a try! Thanks a bunch
GoPro Karma has the first and best imo flight simulator through the controller. It's a shame Gopro didn't carry on with this drone. Hopefully with a next one!
Hey Oliver Argires! I did not know that! Thanks for sharing. Yes, it was a shame to see the Karma not reach the success we all hoped for. As you say, fingers crossed for the future!
Hey Lorenzo Serrano! Thanks for the comment, that is very frustrating. You can use an Xbox controller although that does remove a lot of the benefits of building up muscle memory etc.
Hey Half Chrome! Yes it seems to be more stable now. Perhaps since they added a little more functionality on the enterprise side. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it!
@@Geeksvana Did you transfer to the Enterprise version after installing the Free Trial version. You seem to have a lot of options which I can't get unless I spend over $1,000.
Awesome I can’t wait my friend this is the only first FPV Drone or you can say Racing Advanced intelligent Drone & finally I get the chance to race with A.I ! 🚀 😎🙃👍
Hey AJ Alvarez! Great to see you! Hope you are well. It seems to only be a single player game with no AI opponents, although that sounds like great idea!!
Greetings from Cyprus Sean. Great video, and this is the first video I have seen regarding the DJI Flight Simulator, although I did manage to find it myself. Cheers and stay safe.
Hey Eddie Jaoude! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it! As far as I understand the software is only available on Windows 🤔. I have been told there is a way to run it with a Windows emulator but that seems a bit of work!
@@Geeksvana ah I see, thanks for the info. I have a streaming PC I could use. But I noticed the simulator doesn't seem to support the DJI Mini 2, is that correct?
Yes the controller to the Air 2 would not work, which is similar to the Mini 2. You can also use Xbox controllers although that goes away from some of the point for me.
@@Geeksvana yeah I agree, it defeats the point of practicing. Hopefully they will release an update to include it soon, as the Mini 2 is quite new at the moment.
I just installed this in my MacBook Pro using BootCamp and Windows 10. Seems to work just fine, except that in Windows I had to downgrade the display to 720 psi in order to get a full Simulator screen. I only get about 1/3 of the screen with the default display setting.
Hey Paul! I don't think it works with the Smart Controller. Odd as the software is mainly focused on enterprise clients. Although it does not seem to get regular updates.
My computer's specs are not good enough for the DJI Flight Controller. I can't afford to upgrade. What can I do? Is there another flight simulator that is compatible with my Mavic Air controller?
Hey Subha! Thanks for the comment. I use i7 too with a 6gb 2070 card. 32gb on the pc. Since I made this video DJI have officially stopped supporting this simulator so perhaps that has an impact too.
Hey G Wal! It worked with the Mini 1 controller for me. Perhaps they have updated the drivers. There is no enter or back button on the controller, so use enter and escape on keyboard. Hope this helps, thanks for the comment!
Hi there, i hoped that this simulator would be a good way to test fly a drone - without buying one - as with the MD4 fail I am not really shure if i should get a drone - the Mavic mini / mini2 does cause some itching. the problem is that i need a activation code to run the simulator. and that code obviously is only avaiable via a seller. Anyone has an Idea or can help?? Stay save.
Hey Airen cracken! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it! Yes, the Mavic Mini would certainly be the perfect solution to MD4!! If you register with DJI through the link on the software, it then has a small 'free trial' link below. Hope this helps.
As Geeksvana responded to you, you don't need an activation code to run the simulator. There is a link that allows you to continue without an activation code. Otherwise, you'd need to spend over $1,000 for the Enterprise version (or over $7,000 for the Energy version). It's cheaper to buy to Mavic Mini. Or install the Free Trial without an activation code.
there are other rc simulators that will run fine on a laptop. the type where you basically fly in a 360 photo. may not be able to do the fpv stuff or have access to all dji buttons but they can def help with flying by eye, which is the main point of a simulator.
If I ever find all six of my mm2's batteries dead I'd probably need to supliment my 795 miles already flown with the simulator itself. Today's destination somewhere 399' above the Sierra-Nevada mountain range... thanks
Did anyone actually get this to install? I'm on my 3rd attempt - logged in, trial selected, downloaded - install fails before completion. Plenty of space and PC will easily run it. Third time lucky hopefully - been at it a few hours now. ... Nope failed again. Unpacking error 007/002
I just installed the Free Version. It only gives the Freeflight option. So I can't use the Training or Application flight options. The Enterprise version is about $1,500 if I remember correctly. I find that hard to justify as a hobbyist. I can get a lot of practice with the free trial version and free flight option.
$1500 is like asking people to pirate it and frankly they deserve it at that price. there are probably better sims for dji drones than the official anyways. the most important aspect is flying by eye/orientation to fly without gps nannies and any of the old rc sims can do that just fine.
this is so funny, though to have a look, must be honest did skip to 7:50 to see what the sim looks like, will watch the full thing later, but why they trying to copy a acro sim, they should have made the sim more to what the drone is used for so getting the show, instead of flying threw rings or floating balls, just like you would with a acro racing drone, they should have made it so that when you fly around things, you need to have the camera pointing at targets, you get more points if you do it smooth at a correct distance and yeah not crash, learning you how to move the camera whiles flying and maybe use modes that the drone has, tracking and so on, maybe have a no GPS mode so people can learn how to fly home and not panic and let the wind take the drone, could have a top five things to learn, also have new camera tricks, again this is a camera drone not a acro drone, it be like liftoff adding a camera gimble option, so yeah, think i am on to something if not a thing already, plus include basic safety, one of them maybe if it does not feel right, you might want to think about stopping, come home and land, as always thanks for making this video
Hey Andrew! Great to see you! The section you watched with the balls is an 'entertainment' area DJI added to the app. There is a freeflight mode which features earlier in the video which provides normal camera drone flight scenarios from hanger, to city and open land. One feature I do like on the freeflight mode is the ability to increase wind strength and create issues such as sign loss etc. Good idea to include the tracking modes etc, that would give new flyers a lot more confidence to use them! Hope you are well.
Hey MrGarytheitalian! If you visit www.dji.com/simulator and go to the bottom of the page, it mentions ordering it. The is a 'click here' link to try it. That takes you to the download for the free version. Hope this helps.
Hey Trevor Ker-Lewis! Unfortunately it seems there is no Mac version. Although DJI put a lot of effort into this product initially, they haven't updated it much. I did think it was strange not to include a Mac version as this is aimed at commercial users... Hope you are well!
