Bought new controller, downloaded DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series), updated firmware and controller works at liftoff. No need to sync with drone
I purchased the RC-N1 controller, installed the DJI Assistant app and updated the firmware to the latest version, but LiftOff doesn't show it, what am I doing wrong?
@@A.d92 Have they been connected to the computer and the DJI software to do a firmware upgrade? They need to be activated one way or another. Others have said they needed to connect to a pair of goggles while others just the DJI software.
hey I am using the old black remote, do you have a resource for showing how to get it to work with a sim? i.e. a youtube video explanation or something.
The black remote works okay with simulators. I tried it with Lift Off and pretty much plug and play. You can check out this video (not mine): ruclips.net/video/gPpzOMAq82I/видео.html
Close but no cigar. So the big question is does it work with the controller 3 buy DJI. I'm a complete newbie I'm trying to find a simulator that works with a DJI of attitude and its controllers. Any help would be greatly appreciated a video would be even better
A DJI Remote Controller will not work on any simulator as long as it is not linked to a drone or to a goggles or to both. In other words, a hot new controller out of the box will not work on simulator until it is linked and activated with a device.
Thanks for sharing. Is it that it needs to be connected to the computer to be activated or actually connected to a drone/air unit? My understand was always that it needed to be connected to the software and updated/activated first.
Hi.... I need to ask you a question. RC2 needs USB-C to USB-A cable to connect to PC. But is it enough to connect via USB-A 2.0 or it needs a higher generation such as 3.0 3.2 etc.? I want it to perform with Liftoff....
The RC works stand alone ?(withou fpv or avata drone or google?) i Was thiking to start to buy it and train in to DJI simulator (windows) and later buy drone and google combo...
It does work standalone BUT (and a big but) a few people posted that they needed to activate it by connecting it to the goggles before it would work in a simulator. Now that doesn't make sense as it should activate once you connect it to the DJI computer software and update the firmware. I'd suggest buying from somewhere with a return policy if the standalone is very important for you (perhaps use my amazon links in the video description ;) )
@@Mangorille There is a local DJI indipendent reseller here...i may ask if , buying from him directly, he can makes me activate it...even for a small fee ;) ( your amazon link will not work for me anyway...working in Poland :/ )
@@situationing i postopened all due other expense but i just back today on the topic. Yeah you need to link it, the local shop get an avata in few days back from assistance,so il lgo,buy the rc and activate it on site :) Ill back here once done
I'll have to check on the computer but I remember there being an invert button. Otherwise you can re-do the calibration and make sure that you move the sticks in the direction shown.
@@Mangorille no it was a bind problem. I bound the controller to the drone, but kept flashing red and didn’t notice. I had to hook controller to DJI assistant 2 and update firmware. Then connect my phone to the goggles and pair them all together at once WITH the phone connected to the goggles for some reason. After that the controller worked and most importantly was registering the left stick inputs.
I would like to use my pc to control my drone. I have full flight controls, stick, rudder pedals, and helicopter rotor stick. Oh, I wish it'd be easier to get set up.
Totally clear that it works OK with Liftoff and other games for drones, BUT..... I am trying to control my plane on Microsoft flight simulator and no way... do you know how? thanks
I haven't tried but from what I saw in Liftoff, it shows up as a HID controller so might just be a matter of mapping what stick does what. Again I haven't tried but that may point you in the right direction.
How far does it go? I didn't have this problem so can't help too much but is there a RC calibration in the goggles menu like what was on the old system?

Not easily for Liftoff as that's a PC based simulator. I suppose you could put your drone in front of your computer display and put a cooling fan on the air unit to get a similar experience or try to use the video input on the goggles.
Just bought a brand new RC2 to use with Liftoff before I buy my Avata. My black DJI FPV remote works fine with liftoff, the new remote does not. Only sees it as a C5 not HID. Your best bet is to ask on the DJI forums. I don't intend to purchase the controller 3 after my experience with the controller 2.
@@Mangorillewhy what was wrong with your experience with the controller 2?
Were you able to find a way to bind up/down camera movement to the gimbal dial? Liftoff does not seems to detect the dial.
